  • Kashmir: Muslims try to burn a Christian school (only in name). On 14 September another school risked being burnt: it is the Christ School in Poonch. Only police intervention stopped the mob just 500 meters from the building. In recent days, however, some Catholic schools were affected. Among them the Good Shepherd's School of missionary Jim Borst, in Pulwama. The mob burned the main building and two other buildings were looted. Witnesses said the protesters were from villages under the influence of "Allahwales" and Devbandis "fundamentalist groups close to the Wahhabis."These people - he added –are rounded up from nearby villages and incited to attack, inflamed by religious zeal."Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • HT.BacktoBasics.Internet Kill Switch Bill On Senate Short List.According to Moneycontrol.com, two separate bills — one pushed by Senators Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.), Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Thomas Carper (D-Del.) and another backed by Senators Jay Rockefeller (D-W.Va.) and Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) — have been combined and are now on the Senate’s short list for passage. The new bill would give the power to shut down the Internet in case of national emergency to the Department of Homeland Security. Under the bill the Internet could be closed down for four months before Congress could review it. The bill would also require cybersecurity professionals be certified.Of course, China disconnects portions of the Internet whenever there’s civil strife, as do other totalitarian regimes. It’s done to suppress the flow of information. Elites hate the free flow of information. Rockefeller has gone so far to say he wishes the Internet had never been invented and we still communicated with paper and pencil. Senate aides told Moneycontrol.com the bill faces a number of hurdles but the goal is to get the bill passed and on President Barack Obama’s desk by the end of the year. The bill could come up in the next four weeks, or it could be much later, aides said. This bill is about one thing: The totalitarian suppression of free speech. The elites and corporate press know they have lost control of the message. This has resulted in the rise of the Tea Party and general discontent over the direction of the American political system. That frightens the fascists on both sides of the aisle. The Internet Kill Switch Bill is their effort to regain control.Read the full story here.Click here for comments

  • White House Insider: 'The President Is Losing It'.It hasn't gotten much press, but a former White House insider has reportedly dished the dirt on President Obama (anonymously, of course) -- and the revelations sound plausible indeed....Obama is scared to death of Hillary. He doesn’t trust her – obsesses over her almost as much as he does Fox News... when it comes down to it, she has played the game on a far tougher level than he has, and Obama knows that......I don’t have a problem saying that the president is losing it. I don’t mean he is like losing his mind. I mean to say that he is losing whatever spark he had during the campaign. When you take away the crowds, Obama gets noticeably smaller. He shrinks up inside of himself. He just doesn’t seem to have the confidence to do the job of President, and it’s getting worse and worse. Case in point – just a few days before I left, I saw first hand the President of the United States yelling at a member of his staff. He was yelling like a spoiled child. And then he pouted for several moments after. I wish I was kidding, or exaggerating, but I am not. The President of the United States threw a temper tantrum....I am going to come right out and say it – No [, another four years of Obama would not be a good thing]. Obama is not up to the job of being president. He simply doesn’t seem to care about the work involved. You want to know what? Obama is lazy. He really is. And it is getting worse and worse. • HT:TheInfidelBloggers.Undercover video: Boston public school kids pulled from mega-mosque field trip to participate in Muslim prayers, no intervention by school staff.Americans for Peace and Tolerance released a shocking video today showing 6th graders from Wellesley, MA being pulled from a field trip to a Boston mega-mosque and being induced to participate in afternoon prayers alongside Muslim men without any intervention by school authorities present or notification to parents.Yet the video reveals that the students are being blatantly mis-educated about Islam. A mosque spokesperson is seen teaching the children that in Mohammed’s 7th century Arabia women were allowed to vote, while in America women only gained that right a hundred years ago. This seems to be an increasingly recurring theme in American schools – the denigration of western civilization and the glorification of Islamic history and values. In fact, just recently, the American Textbook Council revealed that the New York State high school regents exam whitewashes the atrocities that occurred during the imperialistic Islamic conquest of Christian Byzantium, Persia, the African continent, and the Indian subcontinent, even as it demonizes European colonialism in South America. The mosque spokesperson also taught the students that the only meaning of Jihad in Islam is a personal spiritual struggle, and that Jihad has historically had no relationship with holy war. As far as we know, the school has not corrected these false lessons.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

What the US and the EU have ignored is the Turkish army's history as the bulwark of secularism and the ruling AKP party's bid - especially in the last four years - to turn Turkey into an Islamist state. • HT:IsraelMatzav.Joseph's tomb to be reopened. It's been ten years since an IDF soldier bled to death trying to defend Joseph's tomb. When the IDF was ordered to abandon the tomb by then-Prime Minister Ehud Barak - after he forced the soldiers to cower inside for hours - the tomb was abandoned and destroyed by the 'Palestinians.' For the last ten years, Jews have only visited the tomb (which, under the terms of the Oslo Accords, is supposed to be under Israeli control) in the dark of night under heavy IDF protection. Now a new dome has been built atop the tomb - but by a 'Palestinian' contractor. The Jews in the area would like a constant Jewish presence at the tomb, and would like to be able to visit the tomb whenever they want. • ObamaNomics: U.S. Poverty Rate Jumps to 14.3%, Highest in 16 Years. The number of people in poverty rose to the highest level on record in 2009, the Census Bureau reported Thursday, pegging the U.S. poverty rate at 14.3 percent. The national rate is the highest since 1994 and among the working-age poor the highest level since the 1960s. The Census Bureau says that about 43.6 million people, or 1 in 7, were in poverty last year. That's up from 39.8 million, or 13.2 percent, in 2008, and the largest number since poverty estimates were first recorded in 1959 -- the U.S. population has also grown by more than 130 million in that time. The statistics released Thursday cover President Obama's first year in office, when unemployment topped 10 percent in the months after the financial meltdown. The report comes at a sensitive time with the midterm congressional elections just weeks away and lawmakers trying to show their efforts have helped drag the economy out of a rut.--Child poverty rose from 19 percent to 20.7 percent.Beginning next year, the government plans to publish new, supplemental poverty figures that are expected to show even higher numbers of people in poverty than previously known. • Imam Rauf’s Cordoba House: Inter-Faith Symbol Or Icon For The Muslim World? here is an excerpt from a transcript of Feisal Abdul Rauf’s radio interview in Egypt with Radio Hurytna published on February 5th, 2010, in which he cast Cordoba House in a rather different light:It will be praise be to Allah a structure that will be an icon and the Muslim community will be proud of, not only in America Muslim community in New York but in the entire Muslim world.Icon? Why did he choose a term that in a religious context is associated with Eastern Orthodox churches and is defined in the dictionary as ”a sacred picture representing the Virgin Mary, Christ, a saint, or a martyr?”Why is Imam Rauf telling his Muslim audience in Egypt that the Ground Zero mosque/community center will be an icon that Muslims can be proud of rather than say that it will be a symbol of understanding and mutual tolerance that people of all faiths can be proud of?Imam Rauf, the leader of the Cordoba House initiative to build a 13 story “icon” for the Muslim world two blocks from Ground Zero, is looking to create institutions here in the United States that will help “ensure Islamic law and remove any that contradict with Shariah.”Expressing concern and skepticism about all of this is just old-fashioned American-style common sense, not intolerance.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.
