• Update - Bin Laden was killed in a ground attack by Joint Special Operations Command forces working with the CIA, not a drone strike, a national security source told ABC News.According to a national security source, a compound in Pakistan where therror mastermind was believed to be had been monitored for months. When the decision was made to move on it, special operations forces were sent across the border from Afghanistan to launch a ground attack and take the body. DNA testing confirmed that it was bin Laden, sources told ABC News. • Afghanistan: 12-Year-Old Taliban Suicide Bomber Kills Three.(CNN).A 12-year-old suicide bomber killed three other people, including a district council head, and armed attackers shot to death two police officers Sunday, the first day of a Taliban spring offensive.The attacks followed a Taliban declaration Saturday that its spring military operations will focus on attacks against military bases, airbases, convoys, heads of foreign and local companies, and members of the local government.In Shaken district of Paktika province, the 12-year-old boy detonated explosives in his vest to kill district council head Shernawaz Khan and two others, said Mukhlis Afghan, a spokesman for the Paktika provincial governor.The blast also wounded 12 people, Afghan said, adding: “The suicide attacker’s aim was to target the district council chief.”Hmmmm......Another 'misunderstander' of Islam"?Read the full story here.

• UAW Lawyer Reveals Radical Union Strategy: Argue Constitution Grants Public Sector Collective Bargaining Rights.(Biggovernment).In the face of public sector union reforms, leaders within these unions plan on embarking a new strategy to defeat reformist implementations.On April 28, Newberry Library in Chicago hosted a debate on whether states can stop collective bargaining. Panelist Stephen A. Yokich, an associate general counsel for UAW, unveiled a radical idea for combatting new state restrictions on public sector collective bargaining. His strategy on behalf of the unions is to obtain a Supreme Court ruling stating that collective bargaining by public sector unions is a protecting right under the Equal Protection Clause of the United States Constitution!The Equal Protection Clause is found in Section 1 of the Fourteenth Amendment of the United States Constitution. This section states that no state shall “deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.”The Supreme Court has held that this clause protects classes of race, national origin, gender, or religion from laws which are discriminatory, have discriminatory intent, or have disparate impact. Never has the Supreme Court ruled that this guarantee for “equal protection of the laws” applies to any particular group of organized workers! The vaunted Harvard University also wanted to kick him back to Kenya.Contrary to the splendid fantasy Obama and Bill Ayers spun in Obama’s supposed “autobio” Dreams from my Father, (it seems the book was aptly titled — these were nothing more than pipe dreams), the old man was hardly what the young Barack made him out to be.Today Politico has taken the story a step further, much to the dismay and chagrin of Obama-bots who are dropping comments over there as fast as their sticky fingers can type, adamantly accusing Hah-vahd of racism and whatever else they can dish up to bolster their pitiful racist rationales, their fervently held beliefs that whitey don’ like dat dey be a Blackie in da white house.Ah, but I digress. He gave her his name, she gave him his green card. Voila! Fait accompli! He went his way, she went hers. Later, she constructed a fantasy story about a prince of a father for her otherwise bastard son that no one could refute, or so she thought… Except for two other people. Stanley Armour and Madelyn Payne Dunham. Stanley died years ago, so he took the secret to the grave with him. But Madelyn? Hmmm… that was a little trickier. She was still drawing oxygen when Barry the bastard child was just “this’ close to winning the White House. What to do… what to do? What if Grandma Toot Madelyn slipped up and revealed something “embarrassing” while on medication or simply because she was a bit rattled at reporters’ questions? • The hand is faster than the eye.Obama's Other Hand.(Investors).Regulation: While we were distracted by the president's birth certificate show-and-tell, his EPA releases its guidelines for expanding federal power under the Clean Water Act. America's economy and freedom are at stake.President Obama's long-form birth certificate wasn't the only thing released last Wednesday, but it was probably the least important. The Environmental Protection Agency also released its guidelines for expanding federal power over the nation's waterways, ponds and puddles.These guidelines will take effect after a 60-day comment period and will serve as a reference for environmental agencies in determining their jurisdiction over a particular body of water, large or small. They will eventually morph into binding regulations as damaging to our economy and freedom as the EPA regulation of carbon dioxide emissions.House Agricultural Committee Chairman Frank Lucas, R-Okla., says the expanded EPA guidelines would let the government "regulate essentially any body of water, such as a farm pond or even a ditch." A bipartisan group of 170 congressmen wrote a letter to the EPA and the Army Corps of Engineers urging them not to issue the expanded guidelines.The American Farm Bureau Federation said in a statement that the guidelines "take an overly broad view of 'waters of the U.S.' It would serve as a road map for EPA and the Corps to designate nearly all water bodies, and even some on dry land, as subject to federal regulations that dictate land-use decisions."Not just agriculture but energy production is affected. The EPA recently revoked the coal mining permit for Arch Coal's Spruce Mine No. 1 in Logan County, W.Va. The permit was issued four years ago and since then Arch Coal, which provides 16% of America's supply, has followed every jot and tittle of the rules it was told to operate under. It didn't matter.After an investment of $250 million in the mountain-top mining operation, which when fully operational would have employed 215 miners directly and 300 indirect jobs in support services, it was ordered to shut down. These were, no pun intended, "shovel-ready" jobs.As we have warned, the EPA said it was acting under the authority of the Clean Water Act, saying the mine employed "destructive and unsustainable mining practices that jeopardize the health of Appalachian communities and clean water on which they depend."The EPA is currently suspending 79 such surface mining permits in West Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee. It says these permits could violate the Clean Water Act and warrant "enhanced" review. EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson says she's not against coal mining, but wants to see it "done in a way that minimizes impact to water quality."This is not about clean water any more than cap-and-trade is about climate change. It's about increasing government power over our every aspect of our lives. The power to regulate is the power to destroy, and part of the administration's goal of raising energy prices to the point green energy looks acceptable if not attractive.President Obama said the whole "birther" controversy was a distraction from other more important things. • Congress to Hold Hearings on White House Visitor Logs.(The Hill).On Tuesday of next week, a House Energy and Commerce subcommittee will hold a hearing titled “White House Transparency, Visitor Logs and Lobbyists.” The hearing comes after a report by the Center for Public Integrity detailing disclosure gaps in visitor records released by the White House.In a memo describing the hearing, staff for the House Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee cite the Center’s report about the visitor records. They also list a number of questions for the Obama administration on how its disclosure policy has come to function.“Have there been White House meetings with lobbyists and other interest groups about which information has not been released to the public?” the memo asks. “Have White House officials met with lobbyists and other interest groups outside of the White House in order to avoid generating records of such meetings?”The White House decided in September 2009 to began voluntarily releasing its visitor records on a monthly basis. That policy came to be after the administration reached a court settlement with Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, which wanted the records released under the Freedom of Information Act.The White House does not disclose every record under its policy. • Seattle: Anti-Israel billboard ads to be removed.(Ynet).Pro-Palestinian group seeking to end US funding of Israel takes another blow in battle to have inflammatory ads put up around Seattle's King County.A Seattle group seeking to publish ads calling for an end to US financing of Israel suffered another defeat recently. Last year the Seattle Mideast Awareness Campaign tried to get ads pointing to "Israel's war crimes" to run on the sides of buses but they were cancelled.The Seattle Times reported Sunday that the ad agency has now removed the "softened" message billboards as well.The new ads showed a Palestinian boy behind a fence with the caption "Equal rights for Palestinians — Stop funding the Israeli military." The group's website is also mentioned.The site states that "under Israeli military occupation, millions of Palestinians live in conditions which closely resemble the apartheid system that existed in South Africa."It also claims that Israel is committing war crimes, violating the Geneva Convention by killing innocent people, expanding settlements and maintaining the occupation. The site also claims that Israel carried out "ethnic cleansing" in 1948 and continues to do so today. According to the report in this weekend's Seattle Times, the Clear Channel Outdoor ad agency initially decided to publish the ads, but resolved to take them down last week citing company policy of avoiding messages that offend certain persons or organizations. The group had originally purchased four ads to run for four weeks, at $1,400 a piece. • German party branch equates Israel with Third Reich.(JPost).A branch of the Left Party posts flyer with a swastika morphing into a Star of David, calls for boycott of Israeli products.BERLIN – The Left Party branch in Duisburg, North Rhine-Westphalia, has posted a flyer with a swastika morphing into a Star of David on its website and called for a boycott of Israeli products.The Internet news portal Ruhrbarone first reported the flyer on Wednesday.“The Left Party in Duisburg is a hotbed of anti-Semitism,” Ruhrbarone wrote.The flyer states, “Confront the moral blackmail of the so-called Holocaust,” and terms Israel a “rogue state” and “warmonger.” After Ruhrbarone reported about the flyer, the party branch removed it from its website.A Ruhrbarone writer filed a complaint with Duisburg police asserting that the flyer violated Germany’s anti-hate laws. It may have been on the website for many years.“The content and style of the flyer that is posted is clearly anti-Semitic, disgusting,” Petra Pau, a Left Party MP and vice president of the party in Bundestag, wrote on Thursday in response to an email query from The Jerusalem Post.Pau traveled to Israel in 2008 to speak at an international conference of the Global Forum for Combating Antisemitism.When asked if Left Party legislators agreed with the flyer, she told the Post that “because I am at this time not in Berlin, I cannot speak for the Left Party in the Bundestag.Personally, I am angry and convinced that the party leadership will clarify the matter.”Critics charge Left Party leaders with supporting Hamas and Hezbollah, and with failing to confront both anti-Semitism and a rising hatred of Israel among its members and MPs. • Alexandria’s Youth Calls for Million Man March in Solidarity with Palestinian Uprising. The Coalition of the Youth of the Revolution in Alexandria called for organizing a million man march on May 13, 2011 in solidarity with the third Palestinian uprising. Protestors will impose pressure on the Zionist entity by calling on the Egyptian regime to immediately stop exporting gas to Israel, regardless of its price, as Egyptian gas is used for operating the factories of Israeli arms which are being used against the Palestinians. They will also demand the Egyptian government to review the “Camp David” agreement and consider international changes in order to provide balanced interests for both parties without any prejudice or injustice.The Coalition of the Youth of the Revolution demanded the Supreme Council of Armed Forces to open the borders with Palestine for the passage of food, medical and humanitarian aid. • Turkey forbids ‘forbidden’ from Internet domain names.(Hurriyetdaily).A total of 138 words have been banned from Turkish Internet domain names and now tens of thousands of Turkish websites face closure.The Telecommunications Directorate sent the list to Turkish web-hosting firms on Thursday, ruling the words are not allowed to feature in domain names and websites that do use them will be shut down.The affect of the decision could see the closure of many website that feature the banned words. For example, the website “donanimalemi.com” (hardwareworld.com) because the domain name has “animal” in it, a banned word and likewise “sanaldestekunitesi.com,” (virtualsupportunit.com) would not be able to operate under its current name because it has “anal” in it; also among the 138 banned words. Websites cannot have the number 31 in their domain names either because it is slang for male masturbation.Some more banned English words are: “beat,” “escort,” “homemade,” “hot,” “nubile,” “free” and “teen.” Some others in English have different meanings: “pic,” short for picture, is banned because it means “bastard” in Turkish. The past tense of the verb “get” is also banned because “got” means “butt” in Turkish. Haydar, a very common Alevi name for men, is also banned because it means penis in slang.“Gay” and its Turkish pronunciation “gey,” “çıplak” (naked), “itiraf” (confession), “liseli” (high school student), “nefes” (breath) and “yasak” (forbidden) are some of the other banned words.Hmmmm.....Next the words freedom, freespeech and free thought?Read the full story here.

• At Assembly of Islamic Movement in Jordan, Calls for Liberation of Jerusalem, Al-Aqsa.(Memri).The Islamic movement in Jordan organized an assembly, held April 29 in Aqaba, to mark the anniversary of Jerusalem's conquest by Caliph 'Omar bin Al-Khattab. The assembly saw upwards of 6,000 participants, including heads of the country's Islamic movement and Sheikh Raed Salah, head of the northern branch of the Islamic Movement in Israel. Speakers called to rescue the Al-Aqsa Mosque and liberate it from the hands of the Zionist entity. Supreme Guide of the Muslim Brotherhood in Jordan Hamam Sai'd praised the popular revolutions of the peoples of the region and said that their liberation would lead to the liberation of Al-Aqsa. He added: "The time has come to break the fetters; the time of jihad and liberation has come." Raed Salah said that "the residents of Jordan are the vanguard of Jerusalem's conquerors and Jordan is [their] deployment base." Addressing the Jordanians, he said: "Each grain of earth in Jerusalem awaits you. The fate of 'Amman is part of the fate of Jerusalem. The fate of the Port of Aqaba is part of the fate of the Gaza Strip. • Kayhan: Palestinian Agreement Will Facilitate Jihad in West Bank.(Memri).The Iranian daily Kayhan, which is close to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, claimed that the agreement reached between Hamas and Fatah in Cairo reflected the new policy of post-revolution Egypt, hinting that it marked the victory of the Islamist stream, both among the Palestinians and in Egypt. The daily stressed that "the Palestinian people and its legal representative, Hamas, demand that the Zionists leave all the lands of Palestine." It added that the most important aspect of the agreement was the normalization of security relations between the factions in Gaza (Hamas) and those in the West Bank (Fatah), which would free the hands of the jihadi groups in both places. It said that the Palestinian Authority could be expected to stipulate conditions for the return of Hamas and Islamic Jihad to the West Bank, but that these organizations would eventually be able to operate freely there and put an end to the quiet the Zionists had enjoyed in the West Bank over recent years. • Killing of Gadhafi's son in NATO airstrike disturbs Ankara.(HurriyetDaily).The deaths of Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi’s son and three grandchildren as a result of a NATO raid will “lead to more fatal clashes between rival parties and deepening of instability,” an upset Ankara has said.Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu and his close aides were informed about the deaths late Saturday while in the minister’s hometown of Konya, where he participated in election rallies over the weekend. Convening briefly to evaluate the developments, the diplomats expressed concerns that targeting members of Gadhafi’s family would bring about serious repercussions.In the rebel capital Benghazi, overjoyed rebels fired rockets, Kalashnikovs and anti-aircraft guns and set off TNT, rocking the eastern Libyan city with sustained gunfire and explosions. “They are so happy that Gadhafi lost his son in an airstrike that they are shooting in celebration,” said Col. Ahmed Omar Bani, military spokesman of the Libyan opposition Transitional National Council, or TNC.NATO vowed more strikes, although the commander of Operation Unified Protector stressed that “we do not target individuals.”On Saturday, Gadhafi said NATO “must abandon all hope of his departure,” adding that he would “not leave my country and will fight to the death.” But he proposed talks with France and the United States, without preconditions, an offer that was rejected by NATO and the rebels. “We will not surrender, but I call on you to negotiate. • Prototype of first Turkish tank to be unveiled, Minister says.(Hurriyetdaily).The prototype of Altay, Turkey's first national tank, is ready, announced Minister of National Defense Vecdi Gönül on Saturday evening.Speaking to reporters in the town of Manavgat in the southern province of Antalya, Gönül said a prototype of the soon to be developed tank would be on display at a fair in Istanbul on May 10, without mentioning how much the current designs would represent the final look or technical features of the fighting vehicle.Still, Gönül said the first Turkish tank would be better-equipped compared with all the other tanks currently used by the Turkish military.Under a $500 million contract, Turkey’s Otokar, an automobile company and major supplier of the Turkish Military Forces, and its partners have been tasked with delivering four prototypes for the next generation of tanks by 2015.
