Egyptian security forces reportedly thwarted the attack.Two Egyptians were arrested after offering another Egyptian 50 million Egyptian pounds to carry out an attack on an Israeli ship passing through the Suez Canal. The money came from Iran.
Two Egyptian suspects are accused of attempting to pay a third man to carry out the planned strike. The two allegedly had a budget of more than $8 million.They have had their remand extended for another 15 days.
According to earlier reports, the attack was to involve launching a missile at ships from a farm bordering the canal.Iran has been linked to recent attacks on Israeli embassies worldwide, including a bombing in Delhi in which an Israeli woman was wounded.Read the full story here.
