Wounded French journalist Edith Bouvier arrived in Lebanon.(AA).Wounded French journalist Edith Bouvier arrived in Lebanon, Al Arabiya reported on Thursday citing unnamed sources.
French President Nicholas Sarkozy confirmed the report by saying that journalists Edith Bouvier and William Daniels were out of Syria and they were safe in Lebanon.
Sarkozy said that he had spoken to Bouvier, who will be repatriated in a French government plane.
There were conflicting reports about Bouvier’s fate, especially after the Syrian army attacked the besieged Baba Amro district in Homs.
Unconfirmed reports said that her convoy was targeted by the Syrian forces on the way to the Syrian-Lebanese borders. Al Arabiya sources confirmed that al-Farouk brigade managed to evacuate Bouvier and smuggle her safely to the Lebanese borders.
