Egyptian Prof.: People Demanding Mursi to Cancel Trip to Washington, want Cairo to cut off political relations with the US. (Fars)."The Egyptian people, along with other Muslim nations, are strongly furious at the recent insult to the holy prophet of Islam and want Cairo to cut off political relations with the US as the main sponsor of this insulting movie," Jamal Dhahran, who chairs the faculty of Political Sciences at Egypt's Suez University, told FNA on Friday. He further underlined growing protests across the Muslim lands, and said the number of protestors would grow in Egypt and other Muslim countries.
Dhahran, who is a former MP, described the US allegations about its respect for divine religions as "just a lie", and said, "Releasing such an insulting movie on the anniversary of the suspicious September 11 incident indicates the depth of the Westerners' grudge against Muslims." He also mentioned that Egyptian protestors standing outside the US embassy in Cairo during the last three days "are only part of the angry Muslims", adding that wrathful protestors would continue demonstrations in front of the US embassy and in Tahrir Square in coming days.
"Egyptian demonstrators demand severance of diplomatic relations with the US, expulsion of the US ambassador to Cairo and a calling off of President Mohammad Mursi's trip to Washington as well as the United States' official apology to Muslims," he reiterated. The anti-Islam film has drawn condemnation from numerous countries including Afghanistan, Egypt, Libya, Indonesia, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Iran, Yemen, Iraq, Pakistan, Somalia, Sudan, Morocco, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, etc. Innocence of Muslims, previously called Desert Warriors and Innocence of Bin Laden, is a 2012 anti-Muslim film about Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
