Demonstrators Storm US Embassy in Cairo and Replace Star-Spangled Banner with Black Flag of Al-Qaeda.

Following are excerpts from news reports on the storming of the US embassy in Cairo on September 11, 2012, following news of the release of a U.S.-produced film that affronted the Prophet Muhammad. The reports aired on Al-Tahrir TV and Al-Hayat TV and were posted on the Internet.

The Internet:

Footage of demonstrators outside embassy, one protestor scales the flagpole and flies the black Al-Qaeda flag from it amid cheers and cries

Al-Tahrir TV (Egypt):

Reporter: This is footage from opposite the embassy. The rage is seething. I hope that this will end peacefully. This should be a demonstration of protest, expressing this rage, and that's it.

Al-Hayat TV (Egypt):

Reporter: It is 5 PM, and we are at the US embassy: Black flags, posters, shouts, and many hundreds of demonstrators. This protest was called for by many rebel and Islamic movements, in order to condemn the presentation in the US of a film affronting the Prophet Muhammad.

The protestors stated that they would not leave before their demands were met.

Demonstrator: We will not leave without an official commitment to prevent the showing of this film on US, or any other, TV channels.

Our honor will be restored and we will be appeased when Dr. Omar Abd Al-Rahman is returned [to Egypt].Source : Memri.
