Tarek Fatah is a writer, broadcaster and political activist. He helped found the Canadian Muslim Congress; an organization that provides a voice for Muslims who remain voiceless. He is primarily an advocate for a more progressive and liberal type of Islam, and – in fact – penned a book called, 'Chasing a Mirage: The Tragic Illusion of an Islamic State,' which contests the construction of an Islamic state.
