Iran - three passengers manage to escape from AN-140 aircraft crash in Tehran.(Taz).

The entire crew of the aircraft that crashed in Tehran consisted of the Iranians, Iranian news agency ISNA reported on Aug. 10 with reference to Iran's Deputy Roads and Urban Development Minister Ahmad Majidi.

It was earlier reported that a pilot was a Ukrainian citizen.

Iranian media reported that three passengers managed to jump out of a plane and escape.

Moghaddam also added that according to the preliminary version, the crash occurred due to ignition in one of the aircraft engines.

Majidi confirmed that AN-140 aircraft was jointly assembled by Iran and Ukraine.
There are no foreigners among the dead, he said.

A passenger aircraft owned by Sepahan airline crashed in Tehran on Aug. 10, IRNA agency reported earlier with reference to the Iranian airlines.

"There were 8 crew members and 40 passengers on board, including three children," Director of Iran's Airports Company, subsidiary of Iran's Road and Urban ministry, Mohammad Ali Ilkhani said.

The AN-140 aircraft flying to Tabas town crashed while taking off from the Mehrabad airport.

AN-140 aircraft jointly assembled by Iran and Ukraine, one of which crashed in Iran on August 10, were not to get permission to fly, Iranian parliamentarian Mehrdad Lakhuti was quoted by ISNA agency as saying.
