Municipal workers in Upper Nazareth found on
Tuesday some 25 Islamic State flags in the city’s industrial zone.
Authorities were investigating the incident. No
arrests were reported.
Last week, police detained for questioning a
24-year-old teacher from Kfar Kara on suspicion of association with a terror
organization after a search of his home resulted in the seizure of computers,
other electronic devices, an Islamic State flag and various literature on the
subject of jihad.
The suspect admitted that he brought the
materials back to Israel from Jordan where he was studying. Police said the
investigation was ongoing.
The Hadera Magistrates Court remanded the suspect
to custody, but he was released to house arrest on Sunday.
Israel officially banned the Islamic State and anyone
associating with it at the beginning of September. The decree outlawed meetings
of any kind between Islamic State members and named it an illegal
