Turkey’s Alevis: The country will fall if the 'Islamist' AKP wins. (Bugun).

Alevi associations have announced that even though they had always been supportive of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party), they have encountered nothing but enmity from the party, adding that the AK Party uses religion as a political tool and will destroy the nation if it wins.

Associations of Turkey’s Alevi religious minority, estimated to number between 15-20 million individuals, have released a joint statement explaining how even though they were supportive of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) since the beginning, they were now experiencing great disappointment.

World Ahl al-Bayt Foundation Chair Fermani Altun explained how the AK Party’s wrongful policies have upset every faction in society. “I have never before seen justice compromised to this degree, seen this much discrimination,” he said, “We are undergoing the greatest human discrimination and enmity in history. The AK Party is using religion as a political tool. Alevis aren’t even being hired as garbage men. Hatred towards Alevis has reached a terrible level during the AK Party period.”

Altun also expressed his hopes that the AK Party will lose in the upcoming general elections on June 7th, “God willing this nightmare will be over on June 8th.

There is nothing good going on in Turkey right now. People are afraid for their lives. It’s very important nobody votes for the AK Party. If the voters keep supporting the party as they do now, then Turkey will head towards disaster. An outcome like that will destroy Turkey.”

Meanwhile Dr. Fuat Mansuroğlu, Chairman of the European Ahl al-Bayt Alevi Federation, said that the AK Party was undergoing a period of cruelty, “The anti-government Gezi protests in 2013 significantly changed the AK Party’s views on Alevis. Since then they’ve been purging Alevis from all state institutions.” He added that the upcoming election was a critical one, “We’ll either be heading towards authoritarianism or towards democracy, equality and peace.” Hmmmm....It will just get worse and worse unless the EU and US step up against the dictator. We have seen in the past what a 'Herrenrasse' can do to their population.
