Trudeau gov contemplating using the military to bring Ten thousand of additional Syrian refugees to Canada. HT CIJNews.
Talks are underway between the Liberal government and the military to ascertain whether the latter may be able to assist the government to resettle thousands of privately sponsored Syrian refugees in Canada, reported The Canadian Press.
Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship John McCallum confirmed that he is deploying staff overseas, including existing and retired employees of the Immigration Department, to work through hundreds of applications which were previously submitted by private groups across the country in order to bring as many as 10,000 additional refugees by the end of 2016.
