Video - IRGC Navy Commander Ali Fadavi: We Have Naval Vessels, Missiles in Underground Cities along the Persian Gulf Coastline .
Video - IRGC Navy Commander Ali Fadavi: We Have Naval Vessels, Missiles in Underground Cities along the Persian Gulf Coastline. (Memri).
In a January 24 IRINN TV interview, IRGC Navy Commander Ali Fadavi said that Iran had land-to-sea missiles "in tunnels along the Persian Gulf coastline." "In addition to missiles, we have many naval vessels, kept in underground cities," he said.
Following are excerpts:
Ali Fadavi: It is very strange that despite various American claims, including the claim that they have control over their units, for about two hours they did not know the whereabouts of [their sailors]. We were the ones who informed them.
The [Americans] launched 10-18 airplanes from their aircraft carrier.
Interviewer: They launched them?
Ali Fadavi: Yes. They usually do so in order to carry out operations in Iraq, and so on, but this time, they launched them because of [their missing sailors]. Some of their airplanes reached the skies of the island. We had full control over them. We knew the precise location of all the airplanes and helicopters, and we were aware of the movements of their naval vessels, and therefore, we were in control.
Interviewer: After the release of the sailors, did we receive any commitment [that this would not be repeated]?
Ali Fadavi: They themselves said that they had made a mistake, and they apologized.
The might of the Islamic Revolution cannot be compared to the power of any arrogant force in the world – not only to America – from creation until the end of time. Why? Because the might of the Islamic Revolution has associated itself with the infinite might of God, and no force is comparable to a force associated with the might of God. The world does not understand this, but our revolutionary Muslims people understands this. The Americans do not understand God, and do not take Him into their reckonings. They do not understand martyrdom, and nor do they understand Islam. They do, however, understand [the language of] might, because they themselves conduct themselves on this basis.
We have land-to-sea missiles, with very heavy warheads, located in tunnels along the Persian Gulf coastline. The Americans themselves once said that the IRGC navy forces had dug over a thousand tunnels along the coast of the Persian Gulf. In addition to missiles, these tunnels are full of naval vessels. Since the 1988 war, the Americans have been plagued by the nightmare of these fast boats. I am talking about fast boats, mines, and land-to-sea missiles. In addition to missiles, we have many naval vessels, kept in underground cities, which are called "cities of naval vessels," not "cities of missiles." At some point, we will present them to our revolutionary nation. As you know, the Americans have great [military] abilities. They have an annual military budget of 700-800 billion dollars. Compare this to all the oil that we can sell…
Interviewer: To what extent is there a correlation between what the Americans know about our defense capabilities and equipment, and between what we actually have?
Ali Fadavi: As I have said several times, we cannot compare what the Americans know to what they don't know. Moreover, what they know is what we want them to know, and what we have demonstrated in our maneuvers and elsewhere, or when we received this [equipment] from the Defense Ministry. They are aware only of what we have shown them. When will the American learn about the things we haven't shown them? We will demonstrate this at a certain point, in accordance with our interests, or when the time is right. At that point the Americans will know [our abilities], but it will be too late for them.
With regard to fast boats, the main fear of the Americans, we have boats that are twice as fast as the Americans' boats. We have conducted tests in which we managed to reach three times their speed, and we will demonstrate this. With regard to mines, the Americans are concerned about mines from the 1960s and 1970s, but the mines we possess belong to the second decade of the 21st century.

Commander: IRGC Seeking to Increase Speed of Vessels to 80 Knots, Warns of Hormuz closure.
Commander: IRGC Seeking to Increase Speed of Vessels to 80 Knots.(Fars).
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Navy plans to increase the speed of its missile-launching and fully armed vessels to 80 knots, Commander of the IRGC Navy Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi said.
"The IRGC's naval power has been defined based on the 5 pivots of high-speed vessels, missiles, air-and-sea (capabilities), drones and Jihadi commandoes," Fadavi said in a televised interview with the state-run TV on Monday night.
He underlined the IRGC's determination to increase the power and speed of its vessels which, he stressed, are used to protect security in the Persian Gulf.
"High-speed vessels in the world enjoy a speed of about 35 knots but the IRGC's high-speed vessels traverse at the speed of 60 knots and we want to increase this maximum speed to 80 knots in our future plans."
In August 2010, Iran inaugurated the production lines for manufacturing 'Seraj 1' vessel and a new generation of 'Zolfaqar' missile launcher, both developed by the country's experts.
Also in the same month, the IRGC launched tens of its missile-launching speedboats in the Persian Gulf.
The speedboats in Zolfaqar, Tareq, Ashoura and Zoljanah classes were launched in a ceremony attended by Admiral Fadavi and a number of other high-ranking officials.
The Islamic Republic has mass-produced a large number of speedboats with rocket- launchers and other sophisticated military equipment which are able to strike a heavy blow at any foreign warship if the country comes under attack.
The IRGC is responsible for the security of the Persian Gulf. In 2008, Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi, former commander of the IRGC and the current military advisor to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, declared that the responsibility for defending the Persian Gulf had been handed over to the IRGC.
He warned that the IRGC would seal the strategic Strait of Hormuz in case the US launches any attack on Iran's nuclear installations.Hmmmm.....Speed doesn't mean accurate firepower.

New Iranian Cruise missile 'Zafar' reportedly test fired today.
New Iranian Cruise missile 'Zafar' reportedly test fired today.(Presstv).Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has tested a new short-range cruise missile, which can successfully destroy small and mid-sized targets.
The domestically designed and developed anti-ship cruise missile, named Zafar (Triumph), was test-fired in the southwestern port city of Bandar Abbas, situated 1,563 kilometers (971 miles) south of the capital Tehran, on Sunday.
During the test, the missile, mounted onto light speed boats, accurately detected designated targets and destroyed them.
Zafar is a short-range, anti-ship, radar-guided missile capable of hitting and destroying small and medium-sized targets with high precision.
"Zafar" appears to be some kind of subtype from Iran's smaller AShM types, which are based on Chinese types.
There seems to be a serious increase of defense reporting in Iranian media, in the run-up to the upcoming nuclear talks.Hmmmm.....You presume they think Obama is a weakling lets block the Strait of Hormuz now he's got only one carrier left?Read the full story here.

Iran to make its guard boats 3 times faster than those of U.S. - commander.
Iran to make its guard boats 3 times faster than those of U.S. - commander.(TI).Iran will make its guard boats three times faster than those of the U.S., Navy Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Rear-Admiral Ali Fadavi said, Fars reported. Fadavi noted that thus far Iran has managed to double the speed of boats, and will triple it by the time country's Five year development plan is over (2015). Iran's Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said several days ago that country's naval forces will expand their international presence to safeguard the Islamic Republic's interests and rights. Iran's Navy has been multiplying its naval presence in the international waters since last year, deploying vessels to the Indian Ocean and dispatching two ships via the Suez Canal to the Mediterranean for the first time in February 2011. In addition, in line with international efforts to combat piracy, the Iranian Navy has been conducting anti-piracy patrols in the Gulf of Aden since November 2008 to safeguard the vessels involved in maritime trade, especially the ships and oil tankers owned or leased by Iran.Read the full story here.

Iranian Gov't, Parliament to Set Up Joint Committee to Counter Oil Sanctions, control oil flow trough Hormuz strait.
Iranian Gov't, Parliament to Set Up Joint Committee to Counter Oil Sanctions, control oil flow trough Hormuz strait.(Fars).The move comes after the EU enforced a set of sanctions on Iranian oil supplies on Sunday despite Iran's repeated warnings. The joint committee will comprise oil ministry officials, members of the parliament's energy commission and the national security and foreign policy commission. A day after the enforcement of the new EU sanctions, the parliament's national security and foreign policy commission drafted a bill requiring the government to stop oil tankers from shipping crude through the Strait of Hormuz to the countries that support sanctions against Iran, a commission member said on Monday. "This project is a response to the oil sanctions imposed by the European Union on the Islamic Republic," Ebrahim Agha Mohammadi said. "This bill has been developed as an answer to the European Union's oil sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran."
"In line with this draft law, the government has the right to stop the transit of tankers (through Hormuz) carrying oil to countries which have imposed oil sanctions on Iran," he added. Parliament would be asked to approve the draft law and consider it a double-urgency priority, he said. Agha Mohammadi said that 100 parliament members had signed the bill as of Sunday. Tehran has repeatedly cautioned that such measures will hurt talks with world powers over its nuclear program. Iran has threatened to close the strategic Strait of Hormuz at the entrance to the oil-rich Persian Gulf if its nuclear program is targeted by air strikes that Israel and the United States reserve as an option.Read the full story here.

100 Iranian MPs sign a draft law aimed at blocking Europe-bound oil tankers from using the Strait of Hormuz.(AJ).Iran's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee has drafted a bill calling for Iran to try to stop oil tankers from shipping crude through the Strait of Hormuz to countries that support sanctions against it. "There is a bill prepared in the National Security and Foreign Policy committee of Parliament that stresses the blocking of oil tanker traffic carrying oil to countries that have sanctioned Iran," Iranian MP Ibrahim Agha-Mohammadi was quoted by Iran's parliamentary news agency as saying on Monday. "This bill has been developed as an answer to the European Union's oil sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran."Agha-Mohammadi said that 100 of Tehran's 290 members of parliament had signed the bill as of Sunday. Iran has been floating the threat of closing the strategic Strait of Hormuz at the entrance to the oil-rich Gulf if its nuclear programme is targeted by air strikes that Israel and the United States reserve as an option. While this is a preliminary move that may go no further, even a credible threat to shutting down the strait could lead to oil prices nearly doubling. So far, Iranian political and military officials have said they had no intention on carrying out any threat to close the strait.Hmmmm.....As i said last year once there's an alternative to transport Saudi oil the game will be on.Read the full story here.

Iran Arming Warships with Short-Range Missiles.
Iran Arming Warships with Short-Range Missiles.(Fars).Tehran - The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has begun to outfit Iranian warships patrolling the Strait of Hormuz with radar-evading short-range missiles. The missiles being moved onboard Iranian naval vessels have an effective range of between 200 to 300km, IRGC Navy Commander Ali Fadavi said Friday. At that range, those missiles would be able to strike targets in the Strait of Hormuz or the Sea of Oman from the Iranian coastline, Fadavi said.
The IRGCN move came after the US Navy commanders beefed up their Persian Gulf fleet. The US Navy is doubling the number of its mine-hunting ships patrolling the key waterway. The US commanders have also outfitted their Navy destroyers and cruisers in the region with powerful Gatling guns. The weapons are specially use for taking out the small, fast-moving patrol boats the Iranian navy commonly uses to patrol the strait.
Iran's naval power has even been acknowledged by foes. (Quote: "You Sunk my Carrier")In a Sep. 11, 2008 report, the Washington Institute for the Near East Policy also said that in the two decades since the Iraqi imposed war on Iran, the Islamic Republic has excelled in naval capabilities and is able to wage unique asymmetric warfare against larger naval forces. According to the report, Iran's Navy has been transformed into a highly motivated, well-equipped, and well-financed force and is effectively in control of the world's oil lifeline, the Strait of Hormuz. The study says that if Washington takes military action against the Islamic Republic, the scale of Iran's response would likely be proportional to the scale of the damage inflicted on Iranian assets. The Islamic Republic's top military officials have repeatedly warned that in case of an attack by either the US or Israel, the country would target 32 American bases in the Middle East and close the strategic Strait of Hormuz. An estimated 40 percent of the world's oil supply passes through the waterway. A recent study by a fellow at Harvard's Olin Institute for Strategic Studies, Caitlin Talmadge, warned that Iran could use mines as well as missiles to block the strait, and that "it could take many weeks, even months, to restore the full flow of commerce, and more time still for the oil markets to be convinced that stability had returned".Hmmmm.....I still say the countdown is running, will it be before or after the U.S. Elections? Is this why US Army is 'exercising' for 'riots' on U.S. Soil? IRGC Commander Stresses Iran's Monopoly on Missile-Launching Speedboats.
IRGC Commander Stresses Iran's Monopoly on Missile-Launching Speedboats.(Fars).Tehran - Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi said that Iran has allocated thousands of its speed boats for military purposes, adding that production of missile-launching speedboats is under Iran's monopoly."All throughout the world, Iran is the only country which has speed vessels with the ability of firing (rockets and missile) at high speeds," Fadavi said addressing the second national conference on speedboats here in Tehran on Sunday. "We now have speedboats which can launch missiles as they traverse at a speed over 60km (per hour)," the commander underscored. He further announced that Iran has several thousands of high-speed vessels, 20,000 of which are used for military purposes, adding that the fate of any war between Iran and the US in the sea will be determined by Iran's speedboats. In March 2011, Fadavi had said that speed boats, specially the newly mass-produced missile-launching vessels, have granted high mobility and power to the IRGC Navy and made it a unique force in the world. "As regards high-speed missile-launching vessels, no country in the world enjoys such a power (that Iran has)," Fadavi said, addressing a ceremony held to mark inauguration of the production lines of two types of new speed vessels. "We emphasize that we have gained a unique power in this field of naval defense," Fadavi went on saying. Admiral Fadavi further compared the high speed of the Iranian vessels and the IRGC Navy's high mobility with the US Navy, and said, "US warships currently have a maximum speed of 31 knots while the Iranian vessels can traverse twice as fast on average."Hmmmm.....Whoever sold the 'Bladerunner' to Iran was a moron.Read the full story here.

The $ 187 million US navy stealth ship that could be yours for just $ 97,500.
The $ 187 million US navy stealth ship that could be yours for just $ 97,500.(DailyMail).It's not what you'd normally expect to find while scrolling through an online auction. But bidders with deep pockets can buy themselves a real life U.S Navy stealth ship for a fraction of the $190 million (£115million) it cost to build. In fact bidding on the experimental Sea Shadow - which inspired the 'invisible boat' captained by Bond Villain Elliot Carver in 007 movie Tomorrow Never Dies - has stalled at a cut-price $100,420 (£61,000). There's just one condition of sale that will stop budding Bond baddies from using the ship as a weapon - the winning bidder must 'dismantle and scrap' their purchase before it can leave the US. Anyone who wants to join the sale must also lay down a hefty £6,000 deposit. Production on the groundbreaking vessel began in 1982 and was completed three years later - but the general public weren't aware of its existence until 1993. It was taken out of service in September 2006. The groundbreaking boat measures 164ft by 70ft, weighs 563 tons and was capable of cruising the seas at a maximum of 14 knots. It was which was developed by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the Navy and Lockheed Martin Missiles and Space Company. Sea Shadow has a Swath Water Plane Area Twin Hull (SWATH) design, where the vessel's angled sides extend below the waterline to torpedo-shaped hulls which gave it exceptional stability in bad weather. Once veiled in secrecy, the vessel later came into the open and was used as a tool for testing and evaluating new technologies in a realistic at-sea environment. However, for the last few years it has been holed up in a dry dock in California with authorities hoping to find a museum which could rehome it. After exhausting all channels it is now resigned for the scrapheap and is offered for sale on the GS Auctions website - an eBay-style website for military products. The auction closes on May 4.Hmmm......What's the odds that Iran might buy it?Remember the 'bladerunner 51' speedboat case?Read and see the full story here.
