  • HT:Memri.Qatari Columnist: Obama's Policy Undermines the Moderate Arab Regimes. In a recent article in the Qatari daily Al-Arab, columnist Sayyed Muhammad Al-Khadher called to reassess the image of former U.S. president George W. Bush and his policies. He explained that Bush's policy of condemning and isolating the resistance camp had strengthened the moderate Arab regimes, whereas the policy of openness towards this camp, employed by the current president, Barack Obama, is weakening the U.S.'s allies in the Middle East and undermining America's own interests and status there. [For example,] Fatah's threats to withdraw from the U.S.-sponsored negotiations [with Israel] have become a commonplace phenomenon... Israel [too] sees Obama as a weak president who cannot fulfill [the needs] of the Hebrew state, even though he has promised to protect it from any danger... "It seems, therefore, that history is rapidly doing justice to Bush. His leaving [the White House] was [actually] a disaster for the Arabs. Israel [too] was sorry to see him go, and the Americans [themselves] are apprehensive. It turns out that he was liked by everyone."Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • HT:TeaandPolitics.Al-Qaeda kidnappers tell France to drop veil ban."ISLAMIST MILITANTS who have been holding five French citizens since kidnapping them in Niger last month have demanded that France withdraw its ban on Muslim face veils and pay a €7 million ransom to secure their release, it was claimed yesterday.Amazing how history is at a standstill when it comes to Islamic radicals, nothing has changed since the days of the Barbary Pirates ,taking prisoners and paying tribute to them to be unharmed.A religion of peace indeed, if we believe the American point of view that Al Qaida followers are people who misunderstand Islam ,who were the Barbary pirates then according to their reasoning?Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • HT:BehindtheScenes.White House Meeting for Black Journalists Doesn’t Stay Off-The-Record for Long. The White House is usually quite good at keeping a muzzle on the media after one of its off-the-record sessions with President Obama and senior members of his administration. But not this week. The blog ConcreteLoop.com has posted a clip of Mr. Obama’s meet-and-greet with the journalists in which he stressed the importance of White House outreach to black media, especially blogs with large black followings. The blog Jack and Jill Politics, which bills itself as a having “a black bourgeoisie perspective,” wrote that Valerie Jarrett committed to having more meetings with black bloggers.Jack and Jill Politics also wrote about the feeling among some who attended Monday’s gathering that they were being used for political expediency. “We essentially told the White House that we are not willing to be ‘pimped,’” the blog said. “Oh, we used better articulation, but it was direct and could not be taken out of context, misunderstood or ignored.Hmm....now that he's loosing in the polls he remembers his African American heritage?Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • HT:Hotair.Chamber of Commerce VP: When did Hopenchange turn into fear ‘n smear? The United States Chamber of Commerce has had it with the Obama administration’s smears against it. Yesterday, the Chamber’s VP Greg Hengel went public. Appearing on Fox News, he wondered aloud when “hope and change turned into fear and smear?” He added that he had never before seen such a dirty assault on the Chamber (or any other non-profit organization). “They’re desperate,” he concluded.Read and see the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • HT:JawaReport.Minneapolis imam condemns interfaith gathering where Muslims mingled with Christians and Jews. The Sept. 28 multi-faith prayer service seemed innocuous enough. Christian, Jewish, Hindu and other religious leaders stood side by side with their Muslim counterparts at Central Lutheran Church in Minneapolis... A Minneapolis imam named Abdighani Ali went on Somali TV and radio, declaring that Somalis who attended the service were non-believers. Ali's claims were echoed online by a man named Abdiwali "Dalboon" Warsame. On his website, Warsame wrote that the Somalis who entered the church lost their Islamic faith."Now we are awake," said Abdi Mohamed, a Bethel University student and limo driver from Minneapolis who said he supports dialogue between cultures. "If we see something in our community that is extremist, we're going to call them out on it. They have to be confronted, and they have to be held accountable." Now for the Goverment their reaction:Such unpopular views aren't likely to draw the attention of law enforcement. The FBI is not concerned whether people simply express extreme ideas, said agency spokesman E.K. Wilson."As far as any FBI interest or operational interest, there is none. I mean, it's not against the law to disagree, or to voice that opinion," said Wilson, the international terrorism supervisor in Minneapolis. "But I would say it's a little bit disappointing."Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • Raising the Barricades Against a Rush of Capital. The risk of a global currency and trade war is intensifying: What started primarily as a dispute between the United States and China is now spreading to the emerging world as policy makers there move to shield their economies from powerful economic forces that threaten their own development. The U.S. Treasury secretary, Timothy F. Geithner, said Tuesday night in a U.S. television interview that there was “no risk” of a currency war, and a senior Chinese government official, Cui Tiankai, the vice foreign minister, told reporters Wednesday that China was “doing our best to avoid” one.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • Economic Historican Ferguson Warns of Placing “US Strategic Security in Foreign Hands” Due to Debt, While Krugman Believes Big Gov’t Spending Is Actually Taxcuts.Professor Krugman reckons the benefits of an extra trillion dollars far outweigh future repayment obligations.Princeton University professor Paul Krugman, who is urging the Obama administration to start a second round of fiscal stimulus, clashed – not for the first time – with Harvard professor Niall Ferguson, who reckons the US debt situation is worse than that facing Greece and could eventually threaten its national security."They are addicted to debt," he warned. "The administration, unlike European administrations, is not aware of the risks of mounting deficits."THIS is how you destroy a superpower from the inside on purpose.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • November 30th Could Be the Day the Government Seizes Control of the Internet.November 30th, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) could potentially engage in one of the largest federal power grabs we have ever seen. After two years of this Presidential Administration and this Congress, that is saying an awful lot about an awful lot.And what’s worse, the FCC would be doing it without Congress weighing in. At the FCC’s November meeting – note the coincidental date of choice, AFTER the impending election – three unelected bureaucrats (of five) could simply vote themselves rulers of 1/6th of our entire economy – the information and technology sector.Meaning the Internet that you currently enjoy – that has been a marvel of economic and information innovation and success – will be subject to vast new governmental regulations. You didn’t elect these people – but they are on the verge of electing themselves Internet overlords. The remedy to all of this is crystal clear. Congress should do what it’s supposed to do – write a law that defines and details the FCC’s role (or lack thereof) in regulating the Internet. And the FCC should do what it’s supposed to do – unless and until Congress acts, NOTHING.What the FCC must NOT do is unilaterally vote itself vast new powers under the cover of bureaucratic, post-election darkness."They don't trust me because of my middle name?"Read the full hijacking story here.Click here for comments.

  • HT:TeaandPolitics.Spain: Muslims protest Bishop's petition not to call Cordoba's Cathedral as a "Mosque".They say "Muslims defend Spanish and European values".The Bishop of Cordoba, Bishop Demetrio Fernandez, wrote this weekend's edition of ABC Córdoba, that Córdoba Cathedral has been a Catholic house of worship for eight centuries, "declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, which is open only the Catholic faith. The prelate also noted that "the Catholic community of Cordova has been involved in its maintenance" and "celebrates every day the mysteries of the Christian faith" in it:"When the Muslims arrived in Cordoba in 711, the place was already a sacred place. It was the ancient Basilica of San Vicente Martyr, which was destroyed to build the mosque.King Fernando III the Saint came out of blood in the city on June 28, 1236 and ordered to consecrate the temple which was built as a mosque, and was saved from destruction by the good King Fernando negotiations with the occupying Muslims, who wanted to destroy it before surrendering. "Therefore, Bishop Fernandez believes that the term "mosque" in the signs to the city are wrong. The bishop of the city claims to be called to the scene as it is 800 years: the Cathedral of Cordoba."There is no problem recognizing the Muslim caliphs of Córdoba spent large quantities of money to build this temple for God, which is the jewel in the city of Cordoba. But just calling it a Mosque plants at least confusion, in some cases intentionally. We must all join force to call a spade a spade".Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • Bishops blame Israeli-Palestinian conflict for spurring Christian exodus from Mideast.Bishops summoned to the Vatican to discuss flight of Christians from Mideast, warn that increasingly Muslim-only Mideast could clash with a Christian West. Some bishops have singled out the emergence of fanatical Islam for the flight. But others have directly or indirectly accused Israel of discriminating against Arab Christians and impeding solutions to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • Pravda: American military officers against Obama. It is looking more and more that Obama is not a lawful eligible President. Many people are either engaged in a legal action against Obama or have publicly expressed their support for people in legal actions against Obama. What motivates these people to risk their lives, their freedom and their fortunes by publicly stating their position against a US President? It is their sworn duty.Read and see the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • HT:BigPeace.Mukasey on Obama’s Antiterrorism Policies: ‘A World Inhabited Only by Children’.While visiting the military detention center at Guantanamo Bay in 2008, then-Attorney General Michael Mukasey stopped by the cell of 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (KSM). What he saw startled him: KSM had his own exercise center adjoining his cell, which included the same make and model of elliptical machine Mukasey used at his apartment building in Washington. That wasn’t the only experience the terrorist and the attorney general shared that day. Mukasey also ate lunch from the same halal menu the prisoners choose their meals from every day. What struck Mukasey was the extent to which those who demonized the Bush administration’s efforts to fight terrorism were intentionally misinforming and propagandizing the public with no regard to the damage they might do to America’s safety.President Obama famously ordered the closure of the facility at Guantanamo immediately upon taking office. But he also signed other executive orders–including restricting interrogation techniques to those outlined in the Army Field Manual.“A world like that, where choices have no consequences, is a world inhabited only by children, and then only in their fantasies,” Mukasey concludes. “If we try to live in it, we do so at peril to ourselves and our children.”Obama’s prosecution of the war on terror inspired Mukasey’s extended essay How Obama has Mishandled the War on Terror. The essay is part of a series of critical pamphlets published by Encounter Books called Broadsides.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • HT:Redstate. You May Want to Walk Back From that Remark, Barry.President Obama:"A Republican majority in Congress would mean “hand-to-hand combat” on Capitol Hill for the next two years, threatening policies Democrats have enacted to stabilize the economy."If the Republican majority includes the nominees I have listed with photos below, then you just might wantican majority includes the nominees I have listed with photos below, then you just might want to walk back your words. You have only been acquainted with establishment GOP congressmen like Cantor and Lindsey Graham, and you are factually incorrect to think the new GOP members of Congress want to return to the Hastert and Frist type of Republican ideas of what is the right course for our nation. The nominees I have listed are all proud of their service as military veterans. I only listed the ones who are in a close contest, and the congressional districts are slightly D partisan, (D+1 to D+5). I understand there are other GOP nominees with military service, and I mean no disparagement by not adding them to my list. Some of the ones you are already familiar with, and others have not been mentioned as frequently as I think they should.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • Germans break silence over immigration. When Angela Merkel sat beside Recep Tayyip Erdogan as their two countries played each other at football on Friday, nothing could have seemed friendlier. The Turkish prime minister's scarf even combined the colours of both teams, integrated nicely in the fabric. Like our two peoples in the fabric of society, it seemed to say. And when Mesut Ozil, the star of the German side, scored against the land of his parents, he seemed almost embarrassed. It is characteristic of the tact with which Germans - for so he is - treat matters of "race", for want of a better word. For very obvious reasons, it's not been an area where they want to go. The ghosts of the past have been too frightening.Or so it was until recently. In the space of a few months, there have been outpourings of strong anti-immigrant feeling from mainstream politicians.Suddenly, it is back on the agenda and back on the front pages, particularly of the mass-market Bild newspaper.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • HT:WeaselZippers.Anti-Obama Billboard Raises Eyebrows.A Grand Junction billboard depicting President Barack Obama as a terrorist, a gangster, a Mexican bandit and a gay man is getting national attention. The billboard, erected along the I-70 Business Loop between 28 1/2 and 29 roads sometime Monday, depicts the four “Obamas” sitting around a table with playing cards showing only sixes bunched in groups of three. Also on the table is a copy of the Declaration of Independence, a liberty bell, a toy soldier and a statue of Justice holding a balance.Beneath the Obama caricatures are numerous rats, some of which are labeled as the IRS, trial lawyers, the EPA and the Fed. Sitting above all that is a line, “Vote DemocRAT. Join the game,” which is positioned between two vultures, one of which is labeled the U.N. and the other with the name Soros, a reference to George Soros, a major national Democratic financial supporter.Stories about the billboard have been picked up by several right-leaning blogs and the conservative magazine National Review.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.
