Sadly, many think like fundamentalists, something that leads to all sorts of incidents.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • HT:IsraelMatzav. In Iran's back pocket.Once upon a time, Turkey was an ally of the United States and of Israel. It still remains a member of NATO and still has aspirations to join the European Union. But Turkey is unlikely to be admitted to the EU and it may not be a member of NATO for too much longer if it keeps carrying on like this either. Why?Western diplomats now fear that the AKP's deal with Iran will heighten fears among Turkish secularists that Mr Erdogan will exploit the government's new powers to drive through the AKP's radical Islamic agenda.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • Europe cools towards Obama, Turkey looks east. Most of the Europeans surveyed said they wanted the United States to exert strong leadership in world affairs, but fewer than half approved of how he was managing relations with Iran or how he was going about stabilising Afghanistan.Overall, the survey painted a picture of a broadly popular president, with 78 percent of Europeans approving of his leadership, down from 83 percent in 2009, but one whose skills were called into question on major policy decisions. The number who said Turkey should work most closely with countries in the Middle East on international matters, rather than with the United States or the EU, doubled to 20 percent in 2010, with only 6 percent saying Turkey should work with Washington.Among Turks, Obama's approval rating fell from 50 percent in 2009 to 28 percent in 2010.Compared to last year, Turks were less convinced that NATO is essential, less interested in joining the EU and less likely to say their country shares values with the West."Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • 'Big Nanny' Michelle Obama lectures restaurants on food choices. In today's progressive-induced policing of every aspect of human life, from what we drive to what we eat, First Lady 'Big Nanny" Michelle Obama has taken it upon herself to lecture restaurants on food choices. She wants them to stop serving french fries and opt for carrots instead.Big Nanny's meddling in the private sector is just the latest example of the 'Big Brother' Nanny State being gradually implemented by the progressive movement, which has been accelerated under the regime of Barack Obama.First, Big Nanny needs to realize that it is not the goal of a restaurant to make sure citizens adhere to government-controlled diets. Their goal is to make a profit and survive as a business. How do they do this? By offering food people want to eat. Even Big Nanny's own husband, Big Brother Barack himself, regularly goes out for lunch at his favorite HAMBURGER joints. It seems the ruling class has a very different standard than that which they force on the peons.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • Turkey: nation on a dual course.Turks took a step closer to Europe by voting for constitutional changes aimed at bringing the country into line with European standards of democracy. Yet it was also a massive show of confidence in an Islamic-rooted government whose closer ties with Iran and hostility toward Israel have caused dismay in the West. Its biggest city, İstanbul, spans the Asian and European continents. The constitution is secular; the national leaders are devout Muslims. A NATO member with troops in Afghanistan, albeit in non-combat roles, Turkey became a champion of Muslim anger over Israel's war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.Europe applauded the result, even though Turkey's bid to join the European Union has been reduced to a glimmer, dogged by opposition from France and Germany, Turkish skepticism and a dispute over the divided island of Cyprus, an EU member.Read the full story here.More about the elections and what it means here.Click here for comments.

Let's avoid the easy joke about ACORN is ceasing to exist, because its component organizations will, by and large, survive. And let us chuckle about how basically just as many Democrats as Republicans think this will happen.Optimism, fear, whatever -- one-fifth of partisans think ACORN can work some election-stealing magic, when we all know that's really the job of the New Black Panthers.Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • Barack Obama’s Dream is Our Nightmare. Is Obama in his own dream world or is he doing this on purpose? In the wake of Obama’s call for another fifty billion in government spending last week, Investor’s Business Daily asks, “Is this just a campaign ploy or is the White House ruining our economy on purpose?” Hannity asserted in July that Obama “is bankrupting the country, he is the most incompetent president to ever hold that office.” Dick Morris writes: “Conservatives are so enraged at Obama’s socialism and radicalism that they are increasingly surprised to learn that he is incompetent as well…the truth begins to dawn on all of us: Obama has no more idea how to work his way out of the economic mess into which his policies have plunged us than he does about how to clean up the oil spill.”I agree with David Horowitz. • HT:HinduIDF.The Two Faces of Islam :HIDDEN &MANIFEST.After the recent terrorist attack on America’s World Trade Center and Pentagon, there has been a very clear debate in the international media regarding the nature of Islam. We have seen the media change from the one extreme of being explicitly anti-Islamic, to the other, for the sake of presenting a political and human balance, of being pro-Moslem.Christianity very clearly teaches us to love all of our fellow humans- even our enemies- but it by no means tells us to become blind to reality and the truth, or to be mislead by misinformation. In the aftermath of the September 11 attacks, many Muslims (and non-Muslims driven by political ends) worldwide have attempted to present Islam as a religion of peace and love, wanting to distance it from those shameful and brutal occurrences… they say that there is no violence in the essence of Islam. It is obvious however that the perpetrators of these acts base their dependence on violence on clear and indisputable verses of the Quran, represented clearly in a statement by Osama Bin Laden on the CNN network. Based on this premise, Bin Laden, the Taliban and the Philippines Muslim group Abu Saiaf, among others, have openly declared war against the United States of America in the name of Islam, using quotations from the Quran such as...Read the full story here.Click here for comments.

  • Pat Buchanan Offends Anti-American Islam-Loving Libertarians.Pat Buchanan has offended anti-American libertarians who think Islam is gentle.Buchanan said the Ground Zero mosque is a development planned by a man with the “religious motivation of the Saudis who attacked the towers” and should not be built.
