• America Paying To Burn Books (Operation Dark Heart).America? How do you feel about paying $47,000 of hard earned cash to burn 9500 copies of a book?Do we, as Americans, burn books NOW? WTF?Lt. Col. Anthony (Tony) Shaffer’s book, ‘Operation Dark Heart‘ was approved by the Army and set for release on August 31, 2010, when the Defense Intelligence Agency stepped in and notified the Army that the book’s approval needed to be rescinded because it impacts national security. The controversy surrounds Shaffer’s testimony about Mohammad Atta given to the 9.11 Commission, and Operation ‘Able-Danger’.I have thought from the moment I saw the first plane hit the towers that there is much more to this than just ‘covering’ the intelligence community’s asses over what appears to be a mistake of this magnitude. This could also be more of ‘watch the left hand while we slap you with the right’ maneuvering (Colbert vs. Coates on Capitol Hill last week). • Iran Crosses Iraq Border to Strike Bomb Suspects.General Says Iranian Forces Killed 30 Fighters Alleged to Be Responsibile for Bombing of Military Parade.The report quotes a general of the elite Revolutionary Guards as saying the "terrorists" were killed yesterday in a clash "beyond the border," and that his forces were still in pursuit of two men who escaped the ambush.While Iran has said in the past it would target armed groups on Iraqi soil, this is a rare case of it actually admitting to an attack.Iraqi officials have complained in the past about Iranian artillery targeting armed Kurdish opposition groups on its soil.Iran has already blamed the attack on Kurdish separatists who have fought Iranian forces in the area for years. But most Kurdish groups condemned the attack, and no one has so far claimed responsibility for it.Gen. Mohammad Pakpour, head of the Guards' ground forces, said Sunday the armed group was backed by Israel, the U.S. and members of the Iraqi Baath Party, former supporters of deposed leader Saddam Hussein.Government forces in Iraq, Iran and Turkey have all periodically battled with the Kurdish minorities straddling their borders.
