  • HT:CompassDirect.Life on Hold for Egyptian Christian Arrested for his Faith. An Egyptian who left Islam to become a Christian and consequently lost his wife, children and business is waiting to see if the government will now take away his freedom for “defaming” Islam.Ashraf Thabet, 45, is charged with defaming a revealed religion, Article 98f of the Egyptian Penal Code. The charges stem from Thabet’s six-year search for spiritual meaning that eventually led him to become a Christian. During his search, he shared his doubts about Islam and told others what he was learning about Jesus Christ.Local religious authorities, incensed at Thabet’s ideas, notified Egypt’s State Security Intelligence service (SSI), which arrested and charged him with defamation. If found guilty, Thabet would face up to five years in jail. But because prosecutors have made no move to try the case, Thabet lives in limbo and is subject to a regular barrage of death threats from people in his community in Port Said in northeast Egypt.“I don’t know what is going to happen in the future,” Thabet said. “They’re making life hard for me. I can’t get back my computer. I can’t get back anything.” Hmmmm....The religion of peace,Read the full story here.

  • HT:BigPeace.Islamist Radicals Hold Convention Tomorrow; Obama's ‘Special Envoy’ to Attend. One of the nation’s leading Islamist political organizations hosts its annual convention this weekend, opting to showcase a slew of radicals and terror apologists on its program. The Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) is calling this Saturday’s conference at the Westin Bonaventure in Los Angeles, “The Struggle for America’s Conscience.”Among the invited speakers is a leader of a Virginia mosque whom law enforcement officials consider to be “associated with Islamic extremists,” a director of a group founded by the Muslim Brotherhood with a history of radical statements, and MPAC officials with their own record of undermining law enforcement counter-terror efforts. In addition, a White House aide responsible for outreach to the Muslim world is scheduled to appear. But even he has a record of criticizing American terrorism prosecutions and policies. That’s on top of the rhetoric put forth by the host group MPAC, which rails against law enforcement terrorism investigations and has argued that the U.S. is wrong to designate Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups.Convention topics include “Islamophobia, U.S.-Muslim world relations, terrorism, violent extremism, civil rights, homeland security, bigotry, civic engagement, war, reform.” It would be refreshing if that leads to a frank assessment of what is driving a spike in homegrown terrorist plots during the past two years, including recent arrests in Portland, Baltimore and Virginia.Joining al-Marayati will be Rashad Hussain and Reem Salahi, who each have their own records of demonizing U.S. counterterrorism efforts.Prior to becoming President Obama’s Special Envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference, Hussain frequently criticized law enforcement efforts to combat radical Islam. During a 2004 talk before the Muslim Students Association (MSA), Hussain cast the terror-support indictment of Palestinian Islamic Jihad operative Sami Al-Arian as an example of politically-motivated cases. At the time, Al-Arian was a year away from trial for providing material support to a terrorist organization. After initially denying that he made the comments, Hussain had to backtrack after a tape of the event surfaced. “The judicial process has now concluded, and I have full faith in its outcome,” he said in a subsequent statement.Al-Arian pled guilty to “conspiracy to make or receive contributions of funds, goods or services to or for the benefit of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, a Specially Designated Terrorist.”We have previously detailed how MPAC’s veneer of moderation is undermined by its routine defense of designated terrorist organizations and its opposition to U.S. counterterrorism measures. The 2010 convention program offers little indication anything has changed.Read the full story here.

  • Erdogan rejected to answer questions on Armenian Genocide.Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan was asked at joint news conference with president of Poland Donald Tusk, who pays official visit to Turkey, if the senior diplomats have discussed issues related to massacre of Armenians (without using Genocide) and Turkey’s membership to European Union.According to Turkish “Son Dakika” news web site, Erdogan said the conditions raised for the EU membership don’t includes anything about Armenian massacres, hence there can’t be answer to a thing that doesn’t exist. Panorama.am recalls that Turkey has traditionally rejected the mass killings of 1,5 million Armenians carried out early in the 20th century and took the criticism of the West painfully. The Armenian Genocide has been recognized by lots of states. It was first recognized by Uruguay in 1965. Later Russia, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Poland, Lithuania, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, Greece, Cyprus, Lebanon, Canada, Venezuela, Argentina and the US 42 states did the same. The Armenian Genocide has been recognized also by Vatican, the Council of Europe, the World Council of Churches.Hmmmm...."Something that doesn't exist", Perhaps like your buddy Ahmadinejad doesn't recognises the Jewish holocaust?Read the full story here.

  • Pakistan's former president Pervez Musharraf Army 'May Intervene Over Pakistan's Decline'.Pakistan's former president Pervez Musharraf has warned the army may have to intervene again in politics, if the country continues to decline. He added Pakistan may be forced to take matters into their own hands - which could include working with the Taliban - if it continues to feel alienated by the rest of the world."There is no bar against me going back to Pakistan. But the conditions have to be right," he said. The former general is building his own political party with the intention of returning to Pakistan to take on the current government in a bid for power. He was most concerned over the threat he sees coming from the developing relationship between America, India and Afghanistan."They are creating an anti-Pakistan Afghanistan and America has to realise that," he said.Pakistan, he said, is in a terrible state - with its economy in crisis, high unemployment, mass discontent - and this as well as having terrorists on its soil.Mr Musharraf said his return and his attempt to become an elected politician would this time "give me the legitimacy which maybe last time I didn't have because, in the eyes of the world, I was a dictator. The man who first took power in a bloodless coup also said the army may still have to play a role in determining the future leadership."You have to remember, in Pakistan the armed forces play a very big and important role," he said."It is strong and well-administered and wherever there is turmoil, the people run to the army."Is democracy more important than the state?" he asked."This is the question that arises. And the army is in between. The Army is the saviour. The Army can save the state. It cannot save democracy."

  • Former FBI agent to be top Republican on House Intelligence.Rep. Mike Rogers, a former FBI agent and vocal critic of the Obama administration's dealing with terrorists, will head the House Intelligence Committee when Republicans take control of the House next year.Rogers is not one to mince words. He has made it clear where he stands on a number of fronts which could be a thorn in the side of the Obama administration. He doesn't think the Guantanamo Bay detention facility in Cuba should be closed. Rogers wants terror suspects to be considered enemy combatants who would not be read their Miranda rights and would be put on trial before military tribunals held at Guantanamo.Rogers has accused the administration of treating terrorism as "lawfare" instead of warfare."We do not need Eliot Ness on the battlefield; what we need is Gen. George S. Patton," said the lawmaker. The outgoing ranking member of the committee called Rogers the right man at the right time for the job. Rep. Pete Hoekstra, R-Michigan, said "intelligence is at the tip of the spear in the fight against terrorists and America's foreign adversaries, and Mike is a strong leader to conduct oversight of such a critical issue to the U.S."Hmmm....Ok "Patton" go get them!"Wars may be fought with weapons, but they are won by men."  - General George Patton Jr Read the full story here.

  • The escape from Holland. After hiding his skullcap and being harassed, son of Amsterdam's chief rabbi flees to Israel. Senior Dutch politician: Jews with conscience should leave.Benzion Evers believes Amsterdam is not a safe place for Jews. The son of the Dutch capital's chief rabbi says he is planning on leaving the country next year together with his wife and infant son.In spite of being a popular vacation destination for Israeli travelers, and even though the city boasts a warm Jewish community of thousands, 22 year old Evers, son of Raphael, Amsterdam's chief rabbi has announced that the country is becoming less safe for Jews.He also told of how recently, he is careful never to leave the house wearing his fur hat and hides his skullcap under a baseball cap when going through neighborhoods with high concentrations of Moroccan and Turkish immigrants. The interview he gave to the newspaper was mentioned in many Dutch publications and one newspaper even declared that "history was repeating itself". Bolkestein admitted to being pessimistic with regards to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict which, in his opinion, is fanning the flames of anti-Semitism in his country. "Holland has Arab television channels that promote anti-Semitism," he noted."I don't hang any hopes on the various suggestions that are raised on occasion to battle the incitement against Jews. I see no quick fix on the horizon; anti-Semitism will continue to exist, because the Moroccan and Turkish youngsters don't care about efforts for reconciliation." Hmmm.....It was about time someone like Wilders stood up against this hatred.Read the full story here.

  • HT:Wired.Court Rebuffs Obama on Warrantless Cell-Site Tracking.A federal appeals court on Wednesday rejected the Obama administration’s contention that the government is never required to get a court warrant to obtain cell-site information that mobile-phone carriers retain on their customers. The decision by the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals is one in a string of court decisions boosting Americans’ privacy (.pdf) in the digital age — rulings the government fought against. The most significant and recent decision came Tuesday, when a different federal appeals court said for the first time the government must obtain a court warrant for an internet service provider to grant the authorities access to a suspect’s e-mail.The Obama administration urged the appellate court to reconsider its position, an offer the court declined Wednesday without commenting on the merits. The administration has also asked the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit to reverse its August ruling requiring court warrants to affix GPS devices to vehicles to track their every move. The administration said Americans should expect no privacy “in the totality of his or her movements in public places.”Hmmmm...."Americans should expect no privacy “in the totality of his or her movements in public places".Read the full story here.

  • Democracies Urged to Vote Against U.N. Plan to Hold Racism Event in NYC.The United Nations General Assembly will vote Monday on whether to hold a controversial anti-racism event in New York next September, when America will mark the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks. This time, Canada has again been first to announce it would boycott Durban III.Two days after the Nov. 23 U.N. committee vote, Immigration Minister Jason Kenney said that Canada had “lost faith” in the Durban process: “Canada is clearly committed to the fight against racism, but the Durban process commemorates an agenda that actually promotes racism rather than combats it.”Republican Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, incoming chairwoman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, is among those urging the administration to make its position clear now. Also critical of the Durban III plans is Joseph A. Klein, author of books including Lethal Engagement: Barack Hussein Obama, the United Nations and Radical Islam and Global Deception: The U.N.’s Stealth Assault on America’s Freedom.“The United States and other democracies should follow Canada’s example and announce immediately that we will boycott the conference next September,” he told CNSNews Thursday.Klein said the U.S. should also subtract from its funding towards the U.N. budget for next year an amount “in proportion to what would be our share of the U.N.’s expenditures on the planning and running of Durban III.”According to U.N. documents next September’s events will require an estimated $231,800 for costs including six-language interpretation services, documentation, conference support, travel costs for participating experts, media coverage, outreach, exhibits and promotional activities.Hmmmm....."The U.N.’s Stealth Assault on America’s Freedom."Read the full story here.

  • HT:TheDailyBeast.America's New Mercenaries. As American commanders meet this week for the Afghanistan review, Obama is hiring military contractors at a rate that would make Bush blush. Tim Shorrock on the Blackwater heirs.Top U.S. commanders are meeting this week to plan for the next phase of the Afghanistan war. In Iraq, meanwhile, gains are tentative and in danger of unraveling.Without much notice or debate, the Obama administration has greatly expanded the outsourcing of key parts of the U.S.-led counterinsurgency wars in the Middle East and Africa, and as a result, for its secretive air war and special operations missions around the world, the U.S. has become increasingly reliant on a new breed of specialized companies that are virtually unknown to the American public, yet carry out vital U.S. missions abroad.Hmmmmm.....Transparacy and Obama?Hahahahaha!Read the full story here.

  • Sudan: Women are punished with '600,000' lashes a year.Forty thousand women in Sudan are subject to police whippings for moral transgressions each year, a figure that came to light after a video was circulated on the Internet which showed the public thrashing of a Khartoum woman.Sudanese feminist and political figure Mariam al-Sadiq al-Madi brought the issue to the attention of authorities, the Sudanese daily al-Sharq al-Awsat reported. The drama of the physical punishments against women in Sudan is much more serious than previously believed," al-Madi said. She said that each year around 600,000 lashes are dealt to women in Sudan."The situation was worsened by a 1991 law that increased violence against them," she added. The so-called 'law 152' allows for women to be whipped for an array of 'moral' crimes including wearing trousers as in the case of a journalist, Lubna Ahmad Hussein, who was found guilty of this 'crime' last year.According to lawyer Nabil Adib, "a vast array of crimes allows for whippings," she said, citing the excessive use of alcohol and gambling to washing one's car in an incorrect location as crimes punishable by flogging.

  • Muslim ‘Radicalization’ Is Focus of Planned Inquiry. The Republican who will head the House committee that oversees domestic security is planning to open a Congressional inquiry into what he calls “the radicalization” of the Muslim community when his party takes over the House next year.Representative Peter T. King of New York, who will become the chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, said he was responding to what he has described as frequent concerns raised by law enforcement officials that Muslim leaders have been uncooperative in terror investigations. “When I meet with law enforcement, they are constantly telling me how little cooperation they get from Muslim leaders,” Mr. King said.Told of Mr. King’s plan, Muslim leaders expressed strong opposition, describing the move as a prejudiced act that was akin to racial profiling and that would unfairly cast suspicion on an entire group.Mr. King also opposed the plan to build an Islamic center near ground zero, urging the developers of the project to meet with 9/11 families to identify a more appropriate location for the center.Hmmm....Mr King should read up on Al-taqiyya.Read the full story here.

  • Joshua's Tomb vandalized with Arabic graffiti.Jewish worshippers discover Samaria site spray-painted with graffiti calling for martyrdom; Mesika calls act "barbaric." Palestinians vandalized Joshua's Tomb in Samaria's Timnat Heres with Arabic graffiti overnight Thursday.Hundreds of Jewish worshippers, escorted by the IDF, arrived at the site which is located between Barak and Ariel, and discovered graffiti on surrounding walls which advocated martyrdom."We swear to remain loyal to the blood of martyrs," read the graffiti. "We are defenders of the national project," "No appeasement, speak to your enemy through shooting," and "Fatah was here" was also spray-painted on the walls."Only barbarians are capable of committing such harmful, threatening acts," head of the Samaria regional council Gershon Mesika said. • HT:BigPeace. The Islamists Battle Plan. After centuries of warfare in which secrecy and espionage often made the difference between winning and losing, we should be grateful that our current enemy has published–and then repeatedly called attention to–his battle plan. The only problem? Our senior leadership refuses to read it.When Coughlin speaks about Islam, he often puts the word moderate in quotes. That’s because even those considered moderate, such as Imam Faisal Abdul Rauf–spiritual leader of the “Ground Zero” mosque–believe in the primacy of shariah law. Rauf himself wrote that since “Shariah is understood as a law with God at its center, it is not possible in principle to limit the Shariah to some aspects of human life and leave out others.”Coughlin noted that some of our Arab allies, such as Saudi Arabia and Egypt, have constitutions based on Islamic law. And pointing to The Quranic Concept of War, by Pakistani Gen. S. K. Malik, Coughlin said the enemy’s threat doctrine is based on Islamic law, and there is no way to defeat an enemy without explicitly understanding its threat doctrine.John Guandolo, vice president of strategic planning and execution for SEG, delved more into the concept of taqiya, pointing out the infiltration into major sectors of local and federal governments by the umbrella Islamist network, the Muslim Brotherhood.“Deception is not a tactic for these guys, it’s the whole game,” Guandolo said.He went on to demonstrate this by showing a photo of the Brotherhood’s Sheikh Kifah Mustapha among the graduates of a recent FBI Citizens’ Academy, which takes its participants inside the FBI’s investigation and community relations processes. He showed a video of Anwar al-Awlaki, an American-born top terrorist recruiter for al-Qaeda now based in Yemen, leading a prayer service on Capitol Hill. Guandolo pointed out that Abdurahman Alamoudi–who in 2004 pled guilty to illegal financial transactions with the Libyan government and to participating in a plot to assassinate Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah–was in charge of selecting Muslim chaplains for the U.S. military. These are just a few of many examples, he said.“They’re actually inside our decision making group,” Guandolo said, adding that decades of Soviet subversion in the U.S. laid the groundwork for radical Islam’s taqiya campaign.Hmmm...."The Ennemy within"?Read the full story here.

  • Rising Oil Prices Fuels Debate Over Offshore Drilling. As oil prices rose above $88 a barrel Friday, a new high for this year, energy analysts predicted that oil could rise to $120 a barrel before the end of 2012, adding more fuel to the debate over offshore drilling. It's hard to say exactly what that would mean for motorists buying gasoline since the price of gas depends upon a number of different variables, including the region, retail prices and local and state taxes, AAA told FoxNews.com.The rise in oil comes on the same week that the Obama administration announced it will not allow offshore drilling in the eastern Gulf of Mexico or off the Atlantic coast for at least seven more years because of the Deepwater Horizon oil rig explosion in April that killed 11 workers and unleashed about 5 million barrels of oil into the Gulf.Kevin Book, managing director of Clearview Energy Partners, told FoxNews.com that his firm sees oil rising to $107 a barrel in 2013 "if economic growth follows its current trajectory."Book explained that his firm's forecast implies that there is substantial non-OPEC slow downs at the same time as there is significant demand growing in emerging economies in Asia and other places."What it does is draw inventory down and lowers capacity in the system," he said. "It also pulls more OPEC oil into circulation.""We're going to use OPEC's oil," he said. "The problem isn't doing business with OPEC. The problem is doing business in a world where OPEC is becoming less relevant.""The true value of OPEC from a price stability standing to its members is predicated on the idea it has to do what it has to do or Saudi Arabia will flood the market with cheap oil," he said.Hmmm....Or soon what a nuclear Iran says to do!Dream on!Read the full idiocy story here.

"We need the public's help.''The photos and videos were found at Franklin's home and garage during a three-day search after his July arrest."Now that we know who he is and what type of activity he is involved in with women, we are very concerned for everyone in these photographs,'' Dennis Kilcoyne, a detective, said.Hmmmm....No really Sherlock?Read the full story here.

  • And now for something completely different.Amelia Earhart's mystery may have been solved - paper.Researchers have found evidence that could shed light on the fate of Amelia Earhart, the pioneering pilot who vanished 73 years ago while attempting to circumnavigate the world, The Daily Telegraph said. The British newspaper said on Tuesday that an expedition launched by The International Group for Historic Aircraft Recovery (TIGHAR) had searched an area "on the uninhabited island of Nikumaroro, a former British colony that is today part of the republic of Kiribati."The researchers found "a human bone, a broken pocket knife of the same brand that was listed in an inventory of Earhart's aircraft," and the remains of other objects dated back to the1930s, which may have belonged to Earhart."The bone is being tested at the University of Oklahoma's Molecular Anthropology Laboratories to see if they contain human DNA," The Daily Telegraph quoted Ric Gillespie, executive director of the group, as saying. "If human DNA is extracted, it will be sequenced to Earhart's DNA."According to the most widely accepted explanation for the disappearance of Earhart's Lockheed Model 10E Special "Electra" in July 1937, her plane simply ran out of fuel and crashed into the Pacific Ocean on route to Howland Island. However, TIGHAR believes that Earhart's plane had sufficient fuel to reach Nikumaroro, and Earhart and her copilot Fred Noonan "could have survived on the island for a time, but eventually succumbed to injury or infection, food poisoning or thirst."Read the full story here.More on Amelia Earhart here.
