Iran's Press TV now also banned on German and French airwaves.
Press TV – In an email sent to the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) officials, Vice President of the SES Platforms Services, Stephane Goebel, noted that the BLM has asked Press TV be immediately removed from the platform. The authority has claimed that Iran’s English-speaking channel does not have a license for broadcast in Europe.
“BLM has…sent us an official request to immediately seize the service of the above-mentioned channel [Press TV],” Goebel noted.
Regretting the decision, Goebel added that his company “will be no longer able to keep the Press TV signal on air and will need to shut down the service without further notice.” The move is clearly part of a plot orchestrated by the West to silence the voice of the Iranian English-language channel.
Press TV channel is also no longer available in France as from today.“We regret that Press TV for legal reasons may not be broadcasted on Astra from now on. The broadcaster works on a quick solution. We ask for your patience” It has to be said that during the Mohamed Merah events, about the possibility that Al Jazeera may has broadcasted the movies of the murders by the Toulouse shooters, the French CSA: ‘Conseil SupĂ©rieur de l’Audiovisuelle’: the governing Authority of the French Broadcasting Television assured that it had the power to control or interrupt the broadcasting signal of any channel emitting via Satellite over the French Territory. This last move about shutting down Press TV in France can only be the signal that President Sarkozy gave the instructions unilaterally to cut the Astra satellite signal.Source here and here.
