CAIRO: A Yemeni man buried his little daughter alive but she was saved by police after villagers quickly reported the macabre incident.
A stunning two-minute film carried by YouTube and other websites showed a Yemeni police officer pulled the baby alive out of her grave as she was shown crying and covered with earth.
A Saudi newspaper, quoting Yemen’s press, said the incident took place in a village in the Arab Peninsula country but did not mention its exact location.
“Some villagers said the father buried his daughter not to kill her but to save her from diseases,” the Saudi Arabic language daily Alsaudeh said.
“They said there are widespread myths in many villages that a child can be saved from diseases by burying him alive or by killing a snake, dipping it in water and using the water to wash the child,” it said.Source here.
