Joseph Stalin, in 1928, launched the first Five-Year Plan.Obama Tells His One-Percent Donors He needs another Five Years.(Politico).ATHERTON, Calif. — President Barack Obama told an intimate crowd gathered at the family estate of the heir to the Levi Strauss and Co. fortune that he has started to steer the ship in the right direction. “We’ve set a path and a target,” he said, “and a direction where this is again a country where everybody gets a fair shot, everybody does their fair share, everybody plays by the same set of rules.” The president ticked off accomplishments of his first term — from toughening fuel efficiency standards to health care reform. But he also noted a few things he wants to do in the future, including rebuilding the country’s infrastructure and tackling climate change “in a serious way.” His agenda, he suggested is far from complete. “We may not even finish it in five years,” Obama told roughly 70 supporters at the $35,800 per head dinner. “But I certainly need five more years to get us locked in on where we need to go.” The hosts, philanthropists Doug and Lisa Goldman, held the event at a leafy, family compound called “Green Shutters” and guests included actor Don Cheadle, vice chair emeritus of AOL Jan Brandt, and Google executives Susan Wojcicki and Dennis Troper.Hmmmm......The Ukrainian Famine a.k.a.
