Strong Egypt Party to march today against Morsi's expanded powers.(AO).The Strong Egypt Party, headed by former Muslim Brotherhood leader Abdel-Moneim Aboul-Fotouh, has called for a march Saturday to voice opposition to President Mohamed Morsi's constitutional decree issued Thursday. According to a statement released by the newly-launched centre party, the march is scheduled to move from Cairo University at 4pm, heading to Tahrir Square. The statement noted the party's refusal of several articles of the Thursday constitutional declaration, including placing presidential decisions beyond judicial challenge and shielding the current Constituent Assembly and Shura Council from risk of dissolution. The party nevertheless stated that they are pleased with Morsi's decision to sack the prosecutor general, and his promise to put again on trial those previously accused of involvement in the killing of the protesters during the January 25 Revolution. "We will never join any protest or march with any members of the former regime," said the party's statement, noting their objection to any assault on individuals or buildings. Meanwhile, dozens remain in Tahrir Square to protest the president's decree.Read the full story here.
