Turkey - US to reduce diplomatic presence at its consulate general in Adana, due to security threats.(HD).

The U.S. State Department on Friday moved to reduce its diplomatic presence at its consulate general in Adana, Turkey, due to security threats, it said in a statement.

"The Consulate General in Adana has been authorized to draw down its non-emergency staff and family members because of threats against U.S. government facilities and personnel," the department said.

It also recommended that "U.S. citizens defer non-essential travel to southeastern Turkey," adding that U.S. citizens traveling to or residing in Turkey should be alert about the potential for violence.

US embassy evacuating non-essential staff in Lebanon

U.S. officials also ordered non-emergency personnel and their family members out of Lebanon on Friday "due to threats," the U.S. Embassy in Beirut said in statement.

The U.S. State Department urges "U.S. citizens to avoid all travel to Lebanon because of current safety and security concerns," the statement also said.
