U.S. Judge Wants To Know If Iran or Turkey Paying Lawyers In Reza Zarrab Iran Sanctions Case.

U.S. Judge Wants To Know If Iran or Turkey Paying Lawyers In Reza Zarrab Iran Sanctions Case.(rferl).

A U.S. judge said he wants to know whether Iran employs any lawyers for a wealthy Turkish-Iranian gold trader accused of helping Tehran evade U.S. sanctions.

In an order on Mary 1, Manhattan District Judge Richard Berman said he planned to ask at a hearing on May 2 whether former New York Mayor and Trump adviser Rudolph Giuliani or any other lawyer for trader Reza Zarrab had been hired by Iran or Turkey.

The hearing will focus on whether conflicts of interest bar Giuliani and former U.S. Attorney General Michael Mukasey from representing Zarrab. The trader has pleaded not guilty to U.S. charges that he directed a conspiracy to launder money through U.S. banks on behalf of Iran's government in violation of U.S. sanctions.

Giuliani and Mukasey say they were hired to try to negotiate a political resolution of his case between the United States and Turkey.

The attorneys have discussed Zarrab's case with U.S. authorities and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who has accused U.S. authorities of having "ulterior motives" in bringing the charges.

In an affidavit last month, Giuliani said authorities in both countries were "receptive" to a diplomatic deal.

Turkey’s Erdogan undermines NATO and it's allies.

Turkey’s Erdogan undermines NATO and it's allies. HT : abdullahbozkurtblog
The other lawmaker, Çakmak, recalled his private conversation he had recently had with Erdoğan who said “when I get a chance, I know what to do with NATO, Europe and Israel. I’m going to f..k their mothers. NATO and the US are as terrorists as Israel.”
The deepening confidence crisis between Turkey and the NATO allies that has now reached to a breaking point after the staged coup bid of July 15 of last year that effectively purged most, if not all, pro-NATO officers from Turkish military has its roots tracing back to diverging interests of Turkey’s Islamist rulers who harbor a political vision that is in clear contradiction of the values and principles of the military alliance that was enshrined in its charter.

Turkey, led by an authoritarian leader Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, has time and again surprised NATO allies in several cases which tested the spirit of solidarity in the military alliance’s collective security.

In May 2010, Turkish diplomat at the United Nations Security Council was instructed to cast a no vote to fresh sanctions against Iran’s nuclear program in the last-minute order from then Prime Minister and now president of Turkey, Erdoğan. The original order was to abstain from the vote in the UN Security Council where Turkey was serving as non-permanent member but that was changed at the 11th hour, making Turkey one of the two countries that voted no to the sanction resolution.

The corruption investigations of Dec.2013 that exposed how Erdoğan was in bed with Iranian sanction-busters in moving billions of dollars of Iran’s state funds in exchange for bribes and commissions explained the real reason why Erdoğan personally intervened to support Iran at the expense of Turkey’s allies at the UN. It has nothing to do with mediation efforts along with Brazil. But rather, a young Iranian businessman, Reza Zarrab, was able to buy his access to the power structure of Turkey’s leadership including Erdoğan and his wife.

The meeting held on Oct.19, 2010 in Istanbul’s Çamlıca hill that overlooks Bosporus and attended by Seracettin Karayağız, a deputy from Muş province, and Hayrettin Çakmak, a deputy from Bursa province.

The conversation was about the NATO early radar warning system to be deployed in Malatya’s Kürecik district as part of NATO’s missile defense system. Lawmaker Karayağız said that Erdoğan is no longer allowing the Iranian border to be used as a garrison for the US, Israel and Europe and resisted efforts to that end by Turkey’s allies. He said Erdoğan was really strengthening political, economic and military ties with Iran and saw the radar system as a trap to derail that process. The other lawmaker, Çakmak, recalled his private conversation he had recently had with Erdoğan who said “when I get a chance, I know what to do with NATO, Europe and Israel. I’m going to f..k their mothers. NATO and the US are as terrorists as Israel.” Read the full story here.

Deployment of heavy weapons in several Turkish prisons raises fears about mass killing of political prisoners.

Erdogan quote 2013.

Deployment of heavy weapons in several Turkish prisons raises fears about mass killing of political prisoners. (TM).

Amid claims that the Turkish government is planning to stage riots in Turkey’s prisons to eliminate political prisoners, heavy weapons have been deployed in Silivri, Şakran and Sincan prisons out of security reasons in a move that raised concerns about the mass killings of prisoners.

According to a statement from General Directorate of Prisons and Detention Houses on Thursday, security measures have been upgraded to the highest level in 387 prisons across Turkey while aerial defense systems including anti-aircrafts were installed in Silivri, Sincan and Şakran prisons.

Since the possibility of an aerial attack on prisons seems low, the installation  of anti-aircrafts in three prisons has led to claims whether they will be used to attack the prisoners as anti-aircrafts are used to demolish concrete walls.

Earlier this month, lawyer Ömer Turanlı called on human rights organizations and the relevant commissions of the EU to immediately monitor incidents taking place in Turkey’s prisons while expressing grave concerns about the safety of his clients due to claims of a staged riot.

In a series of messages from his Twitter account, Turanlı, who represents some former police officers and police chiefs who were jailed in mid-2014 for taking part in a massive corruption investigation, wrote:
There are concrete and serious claims about a meeting being held to order opening of gates [of holding cells] in Silivri [prison] and the shooting down of those arrested. … I am calling on human rights organizations and the relevant commissions of the EU to immediately monitor incidents taking place in Turkey’s prisons.”
Turanlı had announced from his Twitter account plans by the Turkish government to commit mass killings of people jailed over alleged or real links to the faith-based Gülen movement in a staged riot in Silivri Prison.

According to the lawyer, recent news reports that portrayed the sketch of an electronic circuit board as a prison break map of inmates who are imprisoned for real or alleged ties to the Gülen movement in pro-government media outlets confirm the claims about plans by the government for the mass killing of inmates.

In September a pro-Justice and Development Party (AKP) Twitter troll named Ahmet Üstün (@ustunn_ahmet) called on the government to make plans for the massacre of all Gülen sympathizers who are currently behind bars.

There should be no other inmates in the prisons where FETÖ members are jailed. Special execution teams should be deployed there. FETÖ and its jailed members should know that only the dead bodies of FETÖ members who make escape plans can be taken out of jail. The guns of prison guards should be taken away, FETÖ members including military members, police officers, prosecutors and judges should be collected in one or two prisons. PÖH [special police units] should operate with the authority to kill 24/7,“ wrote Üstün in a series of tweets. Hmmm......'Ottoman Justice'. Read the full story here.

US Dep of Justice accuses Iranian, Turkish citizens of evading sanctions.

US Dep of Justice accuses Iranian, Turkish citizens of evading sanctions. (Taz).

The Manhattan Attorney has announced charges against Turkish and Iranian nationals for conspiring to evade US sanctions against Iran as well as other offences.

They allegedly used the US banking system to conduct international financial transactions for Iranian entities,” Department of Justice’s official website reported.

Habibollah Zarei, Bora Deniz, Nesteren Zarei Deniz and Abdullah Evren Erdem are accused of conducting hundreds of millions of dollars worth of transactions on behalf of the government of Iran and other Iranian entities using the US financial system, which was barred by United States sanctions.

They are also accused of laundering funds in connection with those illegal transactions and defrauding several financial institutions by concealing the true nature of these transactions.

“The four defendants are alleged to have orchestrated fraudulent transactions that were intended to hide the fact that the transactions were for the benefit of Iranian entities and to have laundered funds in connection with that illegal activity,” said the Department of Justice.

All four defendants currently remain at large.

The charges on Turkish and Iranian citizens come as the Manhattan Attorney also announced Nov. 7 that the files of four other Iranian and Turkish citizens – charged of evading the sanctions – were submitted to a court.

According to a report, superseding indictment alleges that four defendants – Mohammad Zarrab, Reza Zarrab, Camelia Jamshidy and Hossein Najafzadeh – allegedly used the US banking system to conduct international financial transactions for an Iranian airline put under sanctions for supporting terrorist groups.

The superseding indictment further alleges that they participated in financial transactions for the benefit of Mahan Air, an Iranian airline sanctioned for providing services for the Iranian Qods Force and Hizbullah

Reza Zarrab was arrested on March 19, 2016, and is scheduled to stand trial on January 23, 2017.

Mohammad Zarrab, Jamshidy and Najafzadeh remain at large.

Muslim Brotherhood Calls Trump election as U.S. President a Disaster

Muslim Brotherhood Calls Trump election as U.S. President a Disaster.  (AW).

The first leader among Arab states' presidents and king who congratulated Donald Trump  was Egyptian Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, saying he hoped the US president-elect would "pump new life" into Egyptian-American relations.

"The Arab Republic of Egypt is looking to see Donald Trump’s presidency pump new life into the course of Egyptian-American relations, and more cooperation and coordination that will benefit both the Egyptian and American peoples, and promote peace and stability and development in the Middle East region, especially in the face of the huge challenges that it faces,” a statement issued by Egyptian presidency on Wednesday read.

In a meeting with Sisi in New York at the United Nations last September, Trump told "under a Trump administration, the United States of America will be a loyal friend, not simply an ally that Egypt can count on".

However the Arab country's Muslim Brotherhood opposition movement reacted fiercely to Trump's triumph, saying Trump’s victory is a “disaster” for the Arab and Muslim world.

Mamdouh Al-Muneer, a member of the supreme body of the Freedom and Justice Party, wrote on social media that the results of the elections were a catastrophe as a “racist” has ascended to the White House.

“Goliath is coming himself, with his horses and men… what our nation has witnessed in the last period is something and what is to come is something different. God willing it will be for us not against us.”

Hmmm......Yeah the Muslim brotherhood White House dream is over and buried.

'Islamist Dictatorship' Turkey issues Arrest Warrants for 15 HDP MPs.

'Islamist Dictatorship' Turkey issues Arrest Warrants for Arrest of 15 HDP MPs. (Kurdish Question).

Turkey's Interior Ministry has confirmed that 11 Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) lawmakers have been detained by police in operations across the country tonight.

Those detained include HDP co-chairs Selahattin Demirtas and Figen Yuksekdag.
The other detained MPs are Sirri Sureyya Onder, Ziya Pir, Ferhat Encü, Leyla Birlik, Mehmet Ali Aslan, Nursel Aydoğan, Gulser Yildirim, Idris Baluken, Abdullah Zeydan.

A source within the HDP confirmed to kurdishquestion.com that arrest warrants have been issed for four other deputies: Tugba Hezer, Faysal Sariyildiz, Imam Tasci and Nihat Akdogan. Hezer and Sariyildiz are thought to be out of the country, while Tasci and Akdogan have not been detained yet.

Reports that arrest warrants have been issued for the detainment of all 59 HDP MPs are said to be false.

'Detainments a coup'

The pro-autonomy left-wing HDP's Mardin deputy Mithat Sancar has called the operations a coup. Speaking on Sterk TV Sancar said they would not "bow down to the government's fascism," and added, "the people must come out onto the streets to defend their political will and rights."
'More MPs could be arrested in coming days'

Also speaking on Sterk TV, Istanbul MP Pervin Buldan said the detainment of MPs could continue in the coming days.

Another HDP deputy, Ertugrul Kurkcu, has told the BBC that the detentions were "totally unlawful".

He said: "This crackdown tonight is nothing to do with procedural law, criminal law, any law whatsoever or the constitution. This is an unlawful hijacking of HDP parliamentarians.
"The Turkish government is heading towards a dictatorship of Nazi style [sic].
"Will the Turkish government abide by the internationally accepted standards of parliamentary democracy? This is the basic question."

The house raids and detainments have been reported as 'operations on terror' by Turkish media.
Turkey claims that the HDP has links to the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), but the party strongly denies this.

'Islamist Dictatorship' Turkey launches site to report Islamophobia in games: 'PacMan collects Muslim women'.

'Islamist Dictatorship' Turkey launches website to report Islamophobia in games: 'PacMan collects Muslim women'.

Turkey has started an online website to report Islamophobic content in digital games, Youth and Sports Minister Akif Çağatay Kılıç told Anadolu Agency Thursday.

Kılıç said video games with Islamophobic content can now be reported at www.oyunlardaislamofobi.com.

The minister highlighted the dangers of Islamophobic content in digital games.

"Digital games are now being used by the West as a means to spread Islamophobia. Therefore, we have stepped in and taken action against this digital brainwashing to save our children and youngsters.

He added, "We have determined that the holy book [Quran] and relevant places were purposefully placed in these games to provoke fear. Violence, terrorism and Islamophobia is being imposed on youngsters through digital gaming and an ugly impression of our holy religion is being woven into our children's subconscious."

To most gamers, Pac-Man inhales dots and does his best to avoid ghosts in the classic arcade game. To the Turkish Ministry of Youth and Sports, those ‘ghosts’ are actually veiled Muslim women and the game is a latent method of spreading Islamophobia around the world.

The website cites games that are several years old or do not have wide commercial distribution. One example is the website’s page for Pac-Man, which declares that Pac-Man, rather than do his best to avoid ghosts, “is a game of collecting veiled Muslim women. The Muslim women are figured as the virgins to be attacked.”

In April, the Islamic one man dictatorship government established an international “Islamophobia Research Center.”   Read the full 'story' here and here.

Hmmm.....It isn't Islamophobia to worry about an Islamist Country locking up all dissent like for example.........Turkey.

Christian U.S. Yale academic ‘banned for life’ from 'Islamist' Turkey.

Christian U.S. Yale academic and refugee aid worker ‘banned for life’ from 'Islamist' Turkey. HT: WorldWatchMonitor.

Turkey deported an American Christian pursuing doctoral studies at Ankara University this week, revoking his residence visa 10 years after the scholar and his family first arrived in the country.

Ryan D. Keating, a Yale University graduate, was refused entry by immigration officials at Istanbul’s Ataturk airport when he arrived from London in the early hours of 17 Oct.
Presenting Keating with an "inadmissible passenger notification report," officials informed him verbally that the Interior Ministry had issued a "lifetime ban" prohibiting him from ever returning to Turkey.
Keating, 39, was escorted to an airport detention centre for the remaining hours of the night and then put on a flight back to London at 7am.

The written document which Keating was asked to sign before leaving that morning was coded "G-82", clarifying that his legal residence visa had been revoked as a "national security" issue on 19 Aug.
"I’ve always known that it was possible to get kicked out of Turkey for my Christian beliefs, just like it used to happen in Turkey 10 years ago," Keating said. "But there is no indication why, no evidence or justification for this."
Keating is the second American Christian this month to face Turkey’s apparent crackdown against long-time residents of the country involved in active church-related ministries. Read the full story here.

Islamist in Turkey preparing for Civil war? ‘Islamist armament’ in Turkey is worrying.

Islamist in Turkey preparing for Civil war? ‘partisan armament’ in Turkey is worrying. (yavuzbaydar).

Today’s Turkey is without a doubt a powder keg, reminiscent of Yugoslavia, which because of Milosevic’s divisive nationalist drive, disintegrated after a blood bath.

One of the most worrisome aspects of Turkey today is the concrete signals of armament of individuals, as an element of fierce partisanship.

As Erdoğan raised the decibel level of his speeches again lately, questioning Turkey’s current borders, and the validity of Lausanne Treaty, which as a foundational document established modern Turkey, signed and sealed in 1923, new (or old) maps were visible in Turkish TV channels and newspapers, showing Mosul and northeastern part of Greece, beyond Thessaloniki, as the ‘Greater Turkey’.

Irredentism, and revanchism that comes along with it, is on the table. No matter what the intentions behind claims of ‘revenge of history’, whipping up the Turkish masses is a fearsome fact.

The ostrich-like European leaders and the EU Commission may refuse to admit it, many of them mesmerized by the illusion of the realpolitik, but the reality in Turkish ground is filled with similar, worrisome signs, piling up by every day that passes.

Irredentism may be a slowly brewing fact, but another most recent development should be paid the outmost attention: the announcement and preparations for the armament of the the AKP members en masse.

Turning the ruling party into an armed force had already landed on Turkish agenda, some days after the botched coup, which took place July 15.

Under the slogan ‘never again!’ some AKP officials said, that ‘civilian preparedness’ was necessary to resist new coup attempts. One of them was Şeref Malkoç, a Chief Advisor of President Erdoğan who announced that ‘licenced firearms should be distributed to the people.’

Ever since then, such calls echoed strongly. A swift support came from the militia-like organisation, ‘Ottoman Units 1453’ (Osmanlı Ocakları 1453) – whose date refers to the conquest of Istanbul – that launched the hashtag ‘AKArmament’ (#AKSilahlanma) on social media.
Its leader, Emin Canpolat, wrote, first:
This one is a call for all the brothers. Arm yourselves for the motherland, for the flag and for Erdoğan.’ At a later call, he added: ‘Erdoğan is the motherland; he means the flag for us. We will die, and kill, for Erdoğan’.
Soon after, the hashtag topped the social media traffic.

Messages like ‘AKYouth and AKMilitia is getting ready. We stand ready to fight till the last drop of our blood. Matryrdom is our holy goal!’ or ‘We are ready REIS, tell us to hit, and we shall. Tell us to die and we shall. We shall enter Aleppo and Mosul!’ were in intense circulation.
(The term ‘REIS’, could be translated as ‘the Chief’, falling slighly short, or not, of ‘Führer’.)

Abdullah Şanlıdağ, a columnist with the fiercely anti-semitic, anti-west daily, Yeni Akit, wrote:
‘Don’t be afraid this nation of ours. Don’t. They know exactly who to kill.’
But, these public rants have not remained as outbursts, symbolizing a new trend of political hooliganism. Some days ago, it was transferred to the official rhetoric, and developed into an AKP pledge.

It was the newly appointed Minister of Interior, Süleyman Soylu, who broke the news. At a large meeting of the ruling party, in the Anatolian city of Afyon, he said:

We shall deliver each and every official of our party. We shall also equip them with security guards. We will also see to it that they are protected by long-range weapons.’
In a recent local TV appearance, the governor of the northeastern Black Sea town, Rize, said that licensed weapons were delivered in large numbers to those who ‘donate money’.
Comparing his time as governor in an Aegean city of Manisa, Erdoğan Bektaş said:
‘I delivered five times more weapons in three months that I had in Manisa in two years.’

He added that he would personally provide firearms to people, ‘should the coup attempt happen again’.

In a more spectacular development, Turkey’s most powerful state institution – which seems top have taken over the role as the chief tutelary body, from the military – the Directorate of Religious Affairs (Diyanet), declared that it had launched a project to establish ‘Youth Units’ in the mosques across Turkey.

It was a high-level representative of Diyanet, Yaşar Yiğit, who broke the news.
‘At the first stage we are now done with the infrastructure in 1.500 mosques’ he said, adding:

We have a total of 85.000 mosques and we intend to establish youth units in 45.000 of them. God willing, we will have it in more than 20.000 of them by 2021.’
From every vantage point, it is clear how the pattern is set. Hmmm......And the 'Erdogan Jugend' is a fact!

The data speaks for itself. A parliamentary commission last year issued information that, as of the end of 2013, there were a total of roughly 20 million firearms, of which 85 % were unlicensed. Turkey ranks 14th among 178 countries in individual armament, and in the past years it has noted an increase of more than 50 %.  Read the full story here.

Turkey's Case Against Muslim Cleric Gulen Has Merit: US Official.

Turkey's Case Against Muslim Cleric Gulen Has Merit: US Official. (ABC).

A senior State Department official said Monday that Turkey's contention that a Pennsylvania-based Muslim cleric and his followers were involved in the failed coup attempt may have some merit, even as the Obama administration says Turkey has provided little evidence to support their claim.

The official told reporters there are "reasonable grounds" to take the Turkish government's accusations against Gulen seriously. The official held a briefing for reporters but insisted on anonymity because he wasn't authorized to discuss the matter publicly.

The State Department official said that charity and educational organizations run by Gulen have suspicious structure and financing and look "a lot like the ways in which organized crime sets itself up of folks who are trying to hide money for money laundering" rather than a "benign religious movement."

The briefing comes several days after Turkey's justice minister met with Attorney General Loretta Lynch to press the extradition request.  Hmmm....And we all know Attorney General Loretta Lynch who took the fifth is incorruptible.

Islamist leader of Turkey Erdogan declares death penalty will soon be reinstated.

Islamist leader of Turkey Erdogan declares death penalty will soon be reinstated....My note: 'As Sharia dictates'. (TurkishMinute).

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said on Saturday that legislation to reinstate capital punishment, which was abolished in 2004, will soon be taken to Parliament by the Justice And Development Party (AKP).

It is soon. … Don’t worry. … It is soon, God willing. … Our government [AKP] will bring it to Parliament. I believe that it will be approved by the legislature. When it comes to me, I will approve it,” said Erdoğan after a group of people chanted “We want the death penalty” during a ceremony in Ankara on Saturday.

Asking why he would approve it, Erdoğan said: “Because what the nation wants will happen. Does not sovereignty, without any condition or reservation, belong to the nation? Yes it does. … Then the issue has been solved.”

The West says this and that. … Sorry… What is important is not what the West says but my nation,” added Erdoğan, in reaction to criticism from the US and the European Union (EU). Read the full story here.

Flashback to November 2012:
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s recent remarks on a possible reintroduction of capital punishment have triggered an outcry in the European Union, a leading advocate for its abolition.
Erdogan, famous for his provocative talk, triggered controversy earlier this month when he suggested the death penalty might be brought back due to popular support for the measure, particularly in terror-related cases.
The state cannot forgive a murderer, only the victim's family can, he said, supporting a stance defended by Islam. “Thank God almighty, I am a servant of sharia.” It was 1994, and Recep Tayyip Erdogan was proud to proclaim his Islamist roots in his native Istanbul, where he served as the mayor – or, as he customarily described himself, the city’s “imam.”

Hmmm.....Under Islamic Human rights (CairoDeclaration) all rights are subject to Shariah law, death penalty is no problem.

Russia: Obama 'Admin' Includes 10 Syrian Rebel Groups Working With Terrorists in Truce List.

Moscow: US Includes 10 Syrian Rebel Groups Working With Terrorists in Truce List. (SP).

Washington included two Syrian rebel groups working with Daesh and eight groups working with al-Nusra Front in a truce list, the Russian Permanent Mission to the United Nations' Geneva office said in a statement.

"Washington included two [Syrian rebel] groups that fight together with Daesh and 8 with al-Nusra Front in the list of the participants of the ceasefire regime in Syria sent to the Russian side. Moreover the inclusion of Ahrar ash-Sham and Nour al-Din al-Zenki cutthroats in this list completely discredites the American list," the mission said in a statement published by the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Moscow added that "it seems that the United States have not received any written obligations to respect the ceasefire from groups it controls."

On Friday, Moscow has unveiled a "Comparative Analysis of Russia-US Agreements Implementation" on Syria and sent it to the a range of other agencies in addition to the UN.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said earlier that Moscow will present a report in the United Nations Security Council on Russia's implementation of agreements with the US on Syria and on Washington's failure to abide by them to avoid speculations on the issue. Iran President Rouhani Says Any Foreign Intervention (Turkey) ‘Very Dangerous’.

Iran President Rouhani Says Any Foreign Intervention (Turkey) ‘Very Dangerous’. (IFP).

“We regard as very dangerous [acts of] intervention by foreign countries without any coordination with the host country and believe that [for any foreign measure,] the Syrian and Iraqi governments must request help and demand that another country act against terrorism inside their territories,” Rouhani told reporters at the end of his visit to the central Iranian province of Markazi on Monday.

This [regulation] is based on international principles and [any move] contrary to it will exacerbate insecurity,” he added.

He said the Middle East has been grappling with the problem of terrorism for years and added that Western powers are not interested in the elimination of this phenomenon in the region despite being plagued by the scourge and its consequences.

Some big powers are toying with terrorist groups in line with their own illegitimate goals and despite overflowing the region with tools and equipment, they are not carrying out any positive measure against them [terrorists],” the Iranian president stated.

He urged regional countries to respect the territorial integrity of other countries because “shifting borders is very dangerous.”

Turkey is adamantly insisting that it wants to play a military role in the recapture of Mosul despite Iraq’s opposition, triggering a serious diplomatic row between the two neighbors.

Ankara has deployed troops to a base near Mosul, claiming that they were there to train Kurdish militants for the battle against Daesh.

Addressing a forum of Muslim scholars and politicians in Baghdad on Saturday, the Iraqi prime minister called on Turkey and Saudi Arabia to stop interfering in the domestic affairs of his country.
We want the good of Saudi Arabia and Turkey provided that they do not interfere in the domestic affairs of our country,” Abadi said.

He added that Turkey had sent troops without the Iraqi government’s request and emphasized that Ankara is not battling Daesh but is trying to expand its outreach.

The Iraqi premier emphasized that Ankara did not help Baghdad when it was requested.
For more than a year, Turkey has maintained a contingent of its troops in northern Iraq, alleging that it is training local forces in their fight against Daesh Takfiri terrorists.

However, tensions have escalated after the beginning of the major offensive to liberate Mosul.

Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmus said on October 12 that the country’s military forces will continue their presence in northern Iraq regardless of Baghdad’s repeated protests and escalating tensions between the two neighbors.

“Turkey’s presence in Bashiqa (military camp) is legitimate. We will continue our presence there as long as it is needed,” Kurtulmus said.

Following Turkey’s deployment of its forces to northern Iraq, Syria condemned the “flagrant” move and said Ankara has repeatedly violated Syrian territorial integrity and is supporting militant groups fighting against the government of President Bashar al-Assad.

Turkish troops are also deployed to northern Syria, a move condemned by Damascus as a violation of its sovereignty.

Captured ISIS member confesses: 'Turkish helicopter brought us to Kirkuk'....NATO 'Ally'. (Anf).

The statement of an ISIS member captured alive in Kirkuk reveals the fact that the ISIS attack on Kirkuk had been organized by the Turkish state.

According to a report by the Bedir News website which broadcasts in Arabic, an ISIS member was caught alive during clashes in Kirkuk yesterday.
The captured ISIS member pointed that the Turkish state organized the attacks on Kirkuk and told the followings: “A helicopter belonging to the Turkish state brought us to the Serêtepe village to the north of Kirkuk. We were later taken to Kirkuk city center. Our goal was to seize control of the governor's office and state institutions, for which purpose we attacked these areas.

The village of Serêtepe (Seyran Tepe) mentioned by the ISIS member is affiliated to the Laylan subdistrict of Kirkuk. ISIS groups also targeted this village early yesterday morning and 9 members of the gangs were killed in the clashes in this area.

Iraqi PM Abadi: Thank you, but we don’t need Turkey’s help in Mosul.

Iraqi PM Abadi: Thank you, but we don’t need Turkey’s help in Mosul. (Rudaw).

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – Iraq has declined Turkey’s offer of assistance in the offensive to liberate Mosul from ISIS rule.

"I know that the Turks want to participate, we tell them thank you, this is something the Iraqis will handle," Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said on Saturday.

"If help is needed, we will ask for it from Turkey or from other regional countries."

Abadi made his comments to reporters following a meeting with US Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter, who was in Baghdad on Saturday.

The US has been trying to negotiate an agreement to bring an end to tensions between Baghdad and Ankara over the presence of Turkish troops on Iraqi soil and their participation in the military offensive.

Turkey has been insisting that their forces will participate in the ongoing Mosul offensive, which is led by Iraqi forces with Kurdish Peshmerga and international coalition support.

On Friday, a day after meeting the Turkish president, Carter said that Turkey and Iraq had reached an agreement “in principle” regarding the involvement of Turkish forces in the military offensive in Mosul, though the details remained to be agreed upon and Baghdad needed to give final approval.

The same day that Abadi and Carter were meeting, Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan gave an impassioned speech about Mosul at the opening ceremony of the new campus of Haci Sevim Yikdiz in Bursa.

Mosul was ours. Look at the history,” Erdogan said, as reported by Cumhuriyet.

“I’m talking about the Frontier Treaty and somebody is annoyed,” Erdogan was reported as saying. “I’m giving a lecture about history. Why are you bored? Our difference is that we are nationalists and patriots. From the beginning, we said that the keys of Iraq mustn’t be given to one ethnic group. It is what we also say for Syria. We say this to those countries who are active in the region.”

Raqqa  – As the Iraqi army continues its advance towards Mosul rumors are also circulating that there is a secret agreement to transfer Daesh militiamen from Mosul to Syria, specifically to Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor, in Caliphate territory".

A similar transfer has already taken place under the protection and with the complicity of many countries, including some which officially are fighting Daesh in Iraq, but not in Syria.

These rumors are now substantiated. An Raqqa resident has reported seeing 10 white buses followed by 12 cars, entering the city in motorcade (see photo). The white vans are the typical means of transport that the Islamic State (IS) used for operations in Mosul.

Dozens of passengers, mainly women and children, alighted form these vehicles, many speaking foreign languages and Arabic dialects that are neither Iraqi nor the Syrian. The fact that women and children were treated with great respect has made the residents of Raqqa suspect them of being family members of Isis leaders and foreign mercenaries.

The families - escorted by armed guards to ensure their protection - were accommodated in student housing in the district of Al Rumeileh.

The news quickly circulated on social media, which has overtaken traditional news agencies, sparking uproar in Iraq, among the members of the so-called "Phalange of Babylon". This is a paramilitary militia composed of Christians (Orthodox) in Mosul that fights alongside the Iraqi army and Kurdish Peshmerga to regain their lands occupied by the IS.

Some of them have expressed suspicion of Allied forces complicity in allowing Daesh fugitives, to make the journey to Raqqa.
Curiously, the Western air force engaged in air raids, did not report any sightings of them and allowed them to arrive safe and sound in Raqqa.
Late yesterday an Iraqi source told the pan-Arab TV Al Mayadeen that are already 100 prominent leaders of Daesh who have fled Mosul and arrived in Raqqa with their family.

The propaganda machine of the Daesh "Caliphate" however reports the exact opposite: "the relatives of foreign Daesh leaders are fleeing Raqqa in the direction of Mosul, considered more secure." The news of the escape from Raqqah to Mosul was even declared by Rami Abdel Rahman, director of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights cited by AFP, and rebroadcast by Sky 24 network in Arabic, who spoke of the arrival in Mosul from Raqqah of 70 families of Daesh leaders.

In any case, this transit between Mosul and Raqqa seems to have taken place in complete safely. It is not clear how these families are arriving from Mosul to Raqqa (or vice versa): the strategic highway Sinjar, which links Mosul to Hassakah in Syria and then to Raqqa is under the total control of the Iraqi Kurdish Peshmerga.

The only other possibility is to pass further south, from Shaddadiya in Syria, or to the north, where there are Turkish troops in Baashika. Of course all these movements would be visible with satellites and from the air, where Russians, Americans, Iraqis, French aircraft patrol day and night.

Military experts say that a massive flight of Isis militiamen from Mosul to Raqqa, would transform the recapture of Mosul into a Pyrrhic victory. The military presence of Daesh on the western side of the Euphrates in Syria would allow them to take advantage of any vacuum in the future to return to Iraq, rising from the Nineveh Plain to Ramadi, Falluja and again threaten Baghdad.

The suspicion of the Iraqis is that "Daesh will only temporarily withdraw from Iraq without a landslide victory, the leaders of the Caliphate will not be captured or stopped, only to be re-used at any time by countries that already support and aid Daesh in secret."

Iraqis are convinced that after the liberation of Mosul, the Daesh leaders and fighters will not be arrested or tried for crimes against humanity of which they are guilty. They will not be subjected to interrogation to find out who their secret allies really are. (P.B.)

Pentagon chief to stress Iraq sovereignty in 'Neo Ottoman conqueror' Turkey talks. (Reuters).

U.S. Defense Secretary Ash Carter said he would stress the need to respect Iraq's sovereignty during a visit on Friday to Turkey, which has been locked in a dispute with Baghdad over who should participate in the campaign to retake Mosul from Islamic State.

Carter, acknowledging it was a delicate issue, declined to explicitly say whether he thought Turkey should be allowed to participate in the operations in Iraq. Washington in the past has deferred that matter to Baghdad.

"Of course we'll talk about that. And yes, of course there are sensitivities there. We conduct ourselves, and the coalition does, respecting Iraqi sovereignty. That's an important principle of ours," Carter said. Read the full story here.
