Thursday's USA-Germany World Cup showdown may have been dubbed "World War III" by some fans, but it appears that thousands of fans are still fighting World War II.
The match, which ended in a 2-1 loss for the Americans (who still advanced out of the so-called Group of Death because Portugal simultaneously beat Ghana), roused some pretty ugly nods to the past on Twitter, according to a graph shared by user @DrewG7.
The chart, seen above, shows that Twitter users used the word "Nazi" or "Nazis" in tweets and retweets 30,209 times over the course of match, which lasted less than two hours.Read the full story here.
