Tank Battle Reported Outside Ukraine’s Donetsk. (RN).
A tank battle is raging in the village of Karlivka near Donetsk in eastern Ukraine, Donetsk portal 62.ua reported Tuesday.
“Vehicles are coming back to Donetsk due to the fighting. Four trucks with the Vostok battalion are near Karlivka at the moment,” according to the statement.

Earlier Tuesday, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko announced the end to a ceasefire between pro-Kiev forces and independence supporters in the country’s east. The leader also said he would not renew the truce, which was initially declared on June 20 as part of his detailed peace plan, and was later extended for an additional 72 hours.

Soon after the ceasefire in the country was over, Ukrainian Special Forces conducted an artillery attack against the cities of Slaviansk and Kramatorsk.

According to a representative of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic, a warning siren went off in the city of Kramatorsk.

The source told RIA Novosti Tuesday that the government soldiers used howitzers and self-propelled mortars to attack independence supporters in Slaviansk. The militia said it had no reports on the number of injured in the fighting.
