Most danced around the issue, falling back on the stock "thousands" or "tens of thousands" weasels. But there was one twit among them who spilled the beans. CBS went on the record: Glenn Beck Rally Attracts Estimated 87,000.Fortunately, we have better ways to judge the size of the crowd than to rely on Dan Rather's news organization. MLK's famed 1963 "I Have a Dream" rally was held on the same ground, and the accepted figure is 250,000.So lets compare the images here.

• Hundreds of paid women attend Gaddafi’s Islam lecture.Gadhafi gives lesson on Islam to young Italians.Libyan leader Moammar Gaddafi gave a lesson on Islam and copies of the Quran to a few hundred young Italian women Sunday as he arrived in Rome for his fourth visit in a year.It was the second time the Libyan leader - who travels with female bodyguards and fancies himself a self-styled feminist - had staged such an event for Italian women, who were recruited by a modeling agency and paid an undisclosed sum to attend.Read the full story here.

• Gunman shoots dead six people and wounds 14 in Slovakia capital.A gunman killed six people and wounded 14 others after opening fire in the Slovakia capital Bratislava today.The man, who has not been identified, shot a passers-by and fire through windows into buildings in the Devinska Nova Ves district of the city.Four women and two men were killed and a three-year-old child is among the injured.Full story here.More here.

• The Real Incitement to Violence.Pro-mosque media advocates have of course gleefully jumped on the stabbing of a Muslim cabbie to accuse anyone critical of a massive Islamic structure being built near Ground Zero of inciting violence. Bloomberg has already invited the cabbie to City Hall to honor him. Apparently getting stabbed in New York City is now an honor, at least if the stabbee is politically convenient talking point.The trick isn't to be a Muslim cabbie who gets attacked in the course of his job, but to be attacked at a moment when a politician and his press lackeys need you to make a point.Read the full story here.
