  • HT:WND.Ground Zero imam: 'Apostates against Islam must be jailed'.Those who leave Islam and preach against the Muslim religion must be jailed, declared the imam who has become the new face of the proposed Islamic cultural center near Ground Zero in New York City. "If someone leaves the din, leaves the path privately, they cannot be touched. If someone preaches about apostasy, or preaches their views, they're jailed," stated Imam Abdallah Adhami in a November lecture obtained and reviewed by WND. Adhami was discussing the Quranic view of apostasy, or Muslims who decide to leave the Islamic religion. According to Shariah, or Islamic law, the consensus view in Sunni Islam is that a male apostate must be put to death unless he suffers from a mental disorder or converted against his will. There are, however, differing views on the subject, with some contemporary Islamic scholars differentiating between public and private apostasy and arguing for actions ranging from death to nothing. Adhami, speaking to a non-Muslim audience, claimed Islamic law only calls for punishment for public apostates and that most Islamic scholars demand only that public apostates be jailed as opposed to killed."The Quran distinguishes between public and private apostasy," he said, failing to note most medieval Islamic scholars did not make such a distinction. Adhami admitted, "Yes, many jurists said [public apostates] have to be killed. … But the position of the state was the position of Islamic scholars – they must be jailed so they are contained." He said, "In Islam, in the Quran, theoretically, if you look over the Quran from cover to cover, you literally have the right to the choice to reject God's message. The only thing you do not have the right to do is to spread this conviction, lest you, quote unquote, pollute others."At the second planning meeting, in February 2007, the website documented how Rauf expanded the group to include Shariah experts from "Indonesia, Iran (to represent the Shi'a perspective) and Turkey, as well as two additional participants from Pakistan and Malaysia."Hmmm.....Art 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states :"Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance."You can take your Sharia and go back to Syria!Read the full story here.

  • Second grade teacher suspended over claims seven-year-old pupils had oral sex in classroom.A teacher at a California primary school has been suspended amid shocking claims that children engaged in oral sex and took off their clothes in class.Pupils aged just seven or eight are believed to engaged in the acts at Markham Elementary School in Oakland last week. The male second-grade teacher, whose name has not been released, told investigators he did not see any of the alleged incidents. He has been barred from the campus until the investigation has been completed. One incident is said to have involved several students who partially undressed and acted disruptively during class, while the other involved pupils who engaged in oral sex, district officials said.Parents of students at the school have been informed of what has happened through a letter.Troy Flint, a spokesman for Oakland Unified School District, said: 'We believe if the reports are true, there was a serious lapse of judgement or lack of supervision in the classroom.'We're investigating how could this have happened. It seems unthinkable to us, just the same way it does to the public.'Principal Pam Booker learned of the allegations last week after a pupil gave an account to a teacher's assistant, Mr Flint said.Mr Flint stressed that none of the pupils was accused of wrongdoing.'It's an incident of kids expressing their natural curiosity that went too far because an adult didn't step in,' he said.Ane Musuva, who has two children at the school, said: 'It kind of scares me to know that the teachers aren't really watching them.'I don't want my kids growing up in this type of environment.'Hmmmm....what is this world becoming?Read the full scandal story here.

  • HT:TranslatingJihad.CAIR's Nihad 'Awad Refuses to Condemn Hamas! This interview is a little old (2004), but I've never seen it translated anywhere into English for the American public to read, and I think it's important to have out here, especially with Rep. Pete King's upcoming hearings on Islam in America. This is an organization which purports to represent mainstream American Islam, and yet refuses to condemn Hamas, an Islamic terrorist group if there ever was one. Nihad 'Awad: First, concerning the issue of Palestine, we have personal opinions which we stated at the time. But now we work for the CAIR foundation; the CAIR foundation represents the Muslim masses in America--this is an Islamic endowment. The truth [is that] the rumor which was spread about CAIR is an Israeli viewpoint, which paints the Muslim community with a broad brush. This is the price of not condemning liberation movements, whether in Palestine or Lebanon. I truly do not condemn these organizations. I will condemn them only when I see that media outlets are requiring the heads of Jewish foundations in America to condemn Israel for its treatment of innocent people; for killing people whether in Lebanon, Qana, or Palestine; for bulldozing their homes; and for their flagrant human rights violations. Not one question [like these] has been directed to any leader of a Jewish foundation in America, so why are the questions being directed at Islamic and Arab foundations in America?Does the Muslim community in America threaten Israel's interests?! I say that the Muslim community attempts to protect its own interests, and build positive relationships. It has become a bridge of cooperation between the Islamic world and the American administration. This annoys some, but we are not responsible for that.Talal al-Haj: Do you, a segment of American society, accept the laws accepted by the society? American law states that Hamas is a terrorist organization. Is my question clear?Nihad 'Awad: This is the only Arab and Christian Senator, and his image was placed next to the image of bin Laden--why? Because he took a position which was different than those of the Israeli pressure groups. No Arab or Muslim leader, or Arab or Islamic foundation in the United States have been spared this accusation, and we are no exception. We do not and will not condemn any liberation movement inside Palestine or Lebanon. If they want us to condemn a liberation movement inside Palestine or Lebanon, then they should condemn Israel ten times over on all levels at all times. We will not condemn any foundation. We are not under the hammer of any person, and we are in a free country. Why [should] we give up our principles? The Islamic community and world hopes for foundations which are committed to their principles. If we are prevented from meeting with any authority because of this, then we will be proud and will continue our work. We will not give up, Allah-willing. [...]Hmmmmm.......Your friendly Neighbour CAIR,the bridge between "Whom"? Read the full story here.

  • Saudi Arabia says OPEC will boost oil output to satisfy demand.Saudi Arabia has promised that oil cartel OPEC would boost oil supplies to meet demand and maintain healthy spare capacity as rising prices continued to send alarm around the world.Ali al-Naimi, the kingdom’s oil and energy minister, quoted studies showing world oil demand would grow by 1.5m to 1.8m barrels of oil per day this year, or around 2pc. But he told an international conference in Riyadh that OPEC would stick to its policy of meeting any increase in demand with an increase in supply. Non-OPEC countries were expected to continue to raise production, he added. “The market this year will be in total equilibrium in terms of supply and demand,” he said. “I expect price stability to continue at last year’s rates. “The only thing I am concerned about is the upward or downward pressure of speculators, analysts and future market investors on prices away from natural market fundamentals.” He said spare capacity would remain at 4m barrels per day, and for OPEC as a whole at 6m. Mr Naimi has previously said he would be happy to see prices stabilise at $70 to $80, where they have been for much of the past year.Hmmmmm......What's the catch?Read the full story here.

  • Poll shows public wants Lenin out - or does it?Almost 70 per cent want to see Lenin kicked out of his mausoleum according to an online poll set up by United Russia – and the poll is a fix, according to the Communists.Following Friday’s call from United Russia deputy Vladimir Medinsky to remove the revolutionary leader from his Red Square resting place, a webpage – Goodbye Lenin – went online on Saturday.By Monday morning 69.7 per cent of just over 250,000 voters had supported Lenin’s removal from his mausoleum and his reburial elsewhere.Fraudulent poll. Not surprisingly, however, Russia’s Communist Party cried foul.Valery Rashkin, a member of the Communists, told Ekho Moskvy that polls of this type were irrelevant, saying it would need specialist research to paint a true picture of public opinion. And the party warned that the current poll was deliberately distorting the vote.It is unclear whether the poll, which appears under the United Russia logo, has the support of Prime Minister Vladimir Putin or President Dmitry Medvedev. While the debate about Lenin’s future is an almost annual event, usually flaring up around the anniversary of his death on Jan. 21, Putin went on record about the matter in September. He told visitors to the annual Valdai Club discussions that the time would come for a decision about this, but added that “history cannot be rushed”.Medvedev has never made any official comment on the issue.Hmmmm.....Move over Lenin.....For Michael Jackson????Read the full story here.

  • HT:NewsRealBlog.Islamists Face Off With English Defense League in Canada.A Toronto rally signifying a push by the English Defence League(EDL) in Canada drew heated protests from placard-waving demonstrators hollering: “EDL go to hell” and “neo-Nazi fascist thugs”. Protesters blocked the street and 4 people were subsequently arrested with one police officer requiring medical treatment. The EDL is an anti-Islamist group, whose leader– Tommy Robinson–was communicating with supporters over the internet outside the Toronto Zionist Center while protests smouldered. He was using a video feed over a movie screen which read: “Canadians wake up. The Islamicization of your country is on its way."An open letter signed by two dozen activist organizations 'warns': “The English Defence League is a far-right extremist organization,”Now take a look at the groups among these activist organizations:

  1. The Ontario Coalition Against Poverty which arranged an aggressive: “Can’t stop. Won’t stop. March with Queers Against Israeli Apartheid” campaign.
  2. Queers Against Israeli Apartheid , a gay group that believes they would be better received in Muslim regimes.
  3. The Canadian Arab Federation (CAF), whose leader Khaled Mouammar refers to Israel as the "Israeli Apartheid Regime" and a "pariah state", and has further urged the Canadian government, churches and unions to join forces and push for divestments and sanctions against Israel. The CAF also went on a vigorous lobby against Canada as it sought representation on the UN Security Council, falsely accusing Canada of being anti-Muslim and anti-Arab.
  4. And, Wayman Bennet–Joint Secretary of the organization United Against Fascism– issued a farcical comment:the EDL’s attempts to present itself as opposed to Islamist extremism rather than Muslims was “a bit like the Ku Klux Klan saying they’re not against all black people…"Bennett 'forgets' a few facts: that blacks did not have a political agenda of global Jihad; that blacks were discriminated against based on race not based on their aggressive perpetration of war to conquer.A public response from the English Defense League…..“We do not urge you to hate every Muslim in Canada, we ask you to empower the good Muslims so they can fight their 7th century counterparts, we ask you to join us in the truly global fight against radical Islam.”****Note carefully: "we ask you to empower the good Muslims"The EDL makes a clear distinction between Islamists and 'good Muslims'. Groups like the EDL stymie the drive of Islamists, so the latter fight back by: deceptively arousing sympathies from anti-racism groups, working the propaganda campaign about Gaza, and arousing fear in immigrants about racism. No one is more racist than Islamists where slavery still exists in Maurantania and blacks are slaughtered in Darfur, yet Waymann Bennet puts forth a cockamamie KKK argument.Whatever issues one may have with the English Defense League is allowed in a democracy, but we will be better off to heed the warnings of the EDL: "Canadians wake up. The Islamicization of your country is on its way"; not only in Canada but in all Western Democracies.Hmmm....."We don't want to take over your country"?Read the full story here

  • White children in Birmingham 'a minority' this year because of immigration.White children are set to become a 'minority group' in Birmingham, a census is expected to show.A study by the University of Manchester has predicted that more than half of children in Birmingham will be from black and Asian communities when the census is carried out at the end of March. In 2006, 53 per cent of children under 16 were from white families and this figure is expected to drop substantially to 47 per cent when the census is carried out in two months' time.Various public bodies have attempted to predict when the 'tipping point' will be reached which will push Birmingham’s ethnic minorities into a clear majority.Although children from white families will still make up the largest single group, youngsters from ethnic backgrounds will be in the majority which means the white children will be classed as a 'minority'.Hmmmm....."We don't want to take over your country"Sorry we just did?Read the full story here.

  • RAF Typhoon jets escort Middle East Airbus into Stansted after passenger 'makes threats'.Fighter jets escorted an Airbus into Stansted airport today after a passenger made threats on board. The Etihad flight heading from Abu Dhabi to London's Heathrow Airport was redirected after the pilot contacted air traffic control to say a man had begun making threats. Two RAF Typhoon jets were scrambled to accompany the 300-seater airliner belonging to the national airline of the United Arab Emirates before it landed shortly before midday.A Stansted spokesman added: 'Etihad flight EY19 to London was diverted to Stansted in order to offload a disruptive guest on board.A source at the airport said: 'We are hearing all sorts of things but it sounds as though the passenger has said something to a woman on board and it's all kicked off. It must have been bad for this to have happened though.'There's lots of different stories going around.Another man said the 37-year-old man, who is not thought to live in Britain, added: 'I heard he was very drunk and was making a scene.'Passengers were kept on board the plane at Stansted while it was refuelled and then expected to fly on to Heathrow shortly after 4pm.Essex Police said it had taken a decision not to reveal where the arrested man lives or what he is alleged to have said.Hmmmm.....A case of tooo drunk to fly?Read the full story here.

  • Rep. Mike Turner introduces Constitutional amendment to prevent government ownership of corporations.Backed by top GOP leaders including House Speaker John Boehner, Republican Rep. Mike Turner is introducing a constitutional amendment to ban the federal government from owning corporations in whole or part following aggressive intervention by the Treasury Department during the financial crisis. The proposal, like all constitutional amendments, faces major hurdles to becoming law. But, part of a flurry by constitutional activity by congressional Republicans, the proposal could signify a new reluctance in Congress to grant the Treasury Department broad powers to intervene in private businesses like it did with the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) bailouts.Turner voted against TARP, which he thought would give Treasury only the authority to purchase “toxic assets.” But he watched with increasing alarm as the Obama administration used the law to take over entire companies, including General Motors, where his father worked for 42 years.“My father’s a General Motors retiree and lost his health care as a result of General Motors’ bankruptcy and as a result of the decisions that were made down in Sec. [Timothy] Geitner’s office,” Turner said in an interview.Turner’s constitutional amendment “would stop a bailout where the end result is that the federal government owns a private company. The federal government would still be able in financial crisis situations to step in and provide loans, loan guarantees. But I think it’s particularly troublesome to Americans that the federal government could end up owning private industry,” he said.Turner said the actions of the government during the financial crisis were an affront to the American capitalist system.“Owning private enterprise is really something that goes against the heart of our American values,” Turner said.No Communists socialists Democrats have signed onto the proposal.Read the full story here.
