  • Mubarak won't seek another term; protesters defiant. Obama tells Egyptian president peaceful transition 'must begin now'.CAIRO — Embattled President Hosni Mubarak announced Tuesday that he would not run for another term in office, a concession that seemingly failed to appease many Egyptians who marched a million strong to demand that his 30-year-rule end immediately. Mubarak said he would serve out the last months of his term, which expires in September, and "die on Egyptian soil." He promised not to seek re-election, but that did not calm public fury as clashes erupted between his opponents and supporters. Many on the streets renewed their calls for the 82-year-old leader to quit now and make way for a transitional unity government. "We will not leave! He will leave!" some chanted in Cairo. In Washington, President Barack Obama said he spoke with Mubarak after the speech, and the Egyptian leader "recognizes that the status quo is not sustainable and a change must take place." "What is clear and what I indicated tonight to President Mubarak is my belief that an orderly transition must be meaningful, it must be peaceful and it must begin now," Obama said.He said he would serve out the rest of his term working "to accomplish the necessary steps for the peaceful transfer of power." He said he will carry out amendments to rules on presidential elections. Mubarak, a former air force commander, vowed not to flee the country. "This is my dear homeland ... I have lived in it, I fought for it and defended its soil, sovereignty and interests. On its soil I will die. History will judge me and all of us." Hmmmm.....An "Officer and a gentleman"? ,he knows what will happen to Egypt once he's gone, indeed you're better of with the Devil you know!Read the full story here.

  • Chaos as pro, anti-Mubarak protesters clash in Cairo.Hundreds of pro-government supporters attacked protesters Wednesday in Cairo's central square, where thousands were pushing ahead with demonstrations demanding the ouster of President Hosni Mubarak.Mubarak supporters were out in the streets for the first time Wednesday in large numbers, with thousands demanding an end to the anti-government movement a day after the president went on national television and rejected demands for him to step down. Those calling for Mubarak to go have been out in Cairo and many other cities for more than a week, and they drew by far their largest crowd on Tuesday when at least a quarter million packed the central Tahrir Square and the downtown area around it. Hundreds of thousands more have turned out in other cities across this nation of 80 million."The pro-Mubarak NDP [National Democratic Party] and the secret police dressed in plain clothes, they invaded the place to get rid of the revolt," protester Mohammed Zomor, 63, told Agence France-Presse.The anti-government protesters grabbed Mubarak posters from the hands of the supporters and ripped them. Fighting took place around army tanks deployed in the square, with stones bouncing off the armoured vehicles. The confrontations began just hours after a military spokesman went on national television and asked the protesters to disperse so life in Egypt could go back to normal. During the clashes, soldiers and tanks who have been guarding the square did not appear to intervene. The opposition said plain-clothes policemen stormed the square."Members of security forces dressed in plain clothes and a number of thugs have stormed Tahrir Square," three opposition groups said in a statement.Read the full story here.

  • Egyptian military calls for end to demonstrations. The Egyptian military called Wednesday for an end to more than a week of demonstrations against President Hosni Mubarak, throwing its support behind his embattled regime hours after he defiantly rejected demands to step down immediately and said he would serve out his term in office. The declaration was a clear shift in the stand of the army, which gave a tacit endorsement to the movement on Monday by saying it would not use force against protesters, and that they had legitimate demands. The emboldened protesters brought more than 250,000 people into Cairo's main square Tuesday to demand Mubarak leave within days. The president responded before midnight with a statement pledging to serve seven more months in office "die on Egyptian soil."The army's message to the demonstrators Wednesday had a conciliatory tone, appealing to young protesters to stand down "out of love for Egypt.""You have started coming out to express your demands and you are the ones capable of returning normal life to Egypt," military spokesman Ismail Etman said in an address on state television. "Your message has arrived, your demands have become known."Immediately after his statement, state television ran a scrolling message reading: "The armed forces call on the protesters to go home for the sake of bringing back stability."Ahmed Abdel Hamid, representing The Revolutionary Committee, one of several youth groups that organized the protests, said that the regime was going all out to pressure people to stop protesting."Starting with the emotional speech of Mubarak, to the closure of banks, the shortage of food and commodities and deployment of thugs to intimidate people, these are all means to put pressure on the people"On Wednesday morning in the capital, long lines formed at gas stations and bakeries. Fresh vegetables have all but vanished from Cairo, with farm producers from surrounding areas unable to ferry their goods to the city of 18 million people. Some cars in Cairo had small papers stuck on their windscreen declaring 'Yes to Mubarak."On the edge of Tahrir Square, protesters from the two camps were engaged in heated arguments over whether continued protests were beneficial after Mubarak promised reforms and declared his intention not to run again.Hmmmm......Like i said from day one"It won't be as easy as in Tunesia"!Mubarak is a Military he doesn't run like a rabbit!Read the full story here.

  • Egypt Protests: Will the Real Mohammed ElBaradei Please Stand Up?In the name of democratic reform, Mohammed ElBaradei is doing his best to appear as the annointed one to succeed Egyptian President Hosni Mubarek, should the government fall. In reality, ElBaradei has more in common with Iranian demagogue Mahmoud Ahmadinejad than anything remotely resembling democracy. He is the former Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), where his primary legacy was running interference for Iran and ensuring that Iran is now on the verge of acquiring nuclear weapons. As soon as ElBaradei was finally replaced as IAEA head early last year, his successor Yukiya Amano attempted to distance himself from the obvious cover-up. He issued a report in which the IAEA, for the first time, said things like - on the basis of "extensive" and "credible" information the IAEA now has "concerns about the possible existence in Iran of ... current undisclosed activities related to the development of a nuclear payload for a missile," and "concerns about possible military dimensions to Iran's nuclear program.''If El Baradei were ever to become President of Egypt, not only would he have helped Iran acquire nuclear weapons, he would undoubtedly turn around and lead the charge for an Egyptian nuclear weapon. Nobel Prize notwithstanding, his calling card is to cast nuclear proliferation as some kind of equal rights game between developed and developing countries. If the Obama administration throws Mubarek overboard in the immediate future with nothing but an ElBaradei-Muslim Brotherhood front man in the wings, Egyptians will be farther away from democracy than they ever were and the rest of the world will be a far more dangerous place.Hmmmm......What else could be expected from Hussein Obama?Read the full story here.

  • HT:Memri.Egypt Faces Enormous Economic Difficulties If Turmoil Persists. The financial losses suffered by Egypt continue to grow as the economy, trade, industry, tourism and financial markets are paralyzed and threaten the financial health of the country for the long-term if the political turmoil persists. The country must also contend with external shocks: the grade of sovereign debt has been sharply reduced by all major rating companies which means that Egypt will have to pay a higher interest rate on any future borrowings, insurance on current sovereign debt is skyrocketing, inflation is likely to rise sharply as the current regime, or its successor, will likely engage in spending vast sums of money on creating a lot of non-economic jobs and providing big subsidies in support of food commodities to contain public rage; liquidity could become a serious problem if the banks remain closed, as they are through today at least; factories are closed which means diminished income to tens of thousands of workers who will become free to join the ranks of the demonstrators; and finally, tourism, a main source of foreign exchange and employment is frozen and is not likely to be easily restored to pre-turmoil levels. In terms of big foreign losses, the French banks, the largest lenders to Egypt, stand to suffer the most. Existing foreign debt to the Egyptian government and to private companies is estimated at $49.3 billion through last September, borne primarily by the French banks ($17.6 billion). Other major lenders are British banks ($10.7 billion), Italian banks ($6.3 billion) and American banks ($5.4 billion). The foreign banks and companies are repatriating their foreign staff which will contribute its share to hardships.Hmmmm......We want "Change" yup that's about what will be left in your pockets! But don't worry the Muslim Brotherhood will teach you to pray on an empty stomach.Read the full story here.

  • HT:TranslatingJihad.International Union of Muslim Scholars Issues Statement in Support of the Egyptian Protests; Calls the Protests a 'Jihad'.Just like the Muslim Brotherhood, they're also talking about the new government in democratic and constitutional terms--for now.The International Union of Muslim Scholars Calls on al-Azhar and the Egyptian Elite to Join the Protesters."Those who have been killed in the Egypt protests are considered martyrs by Allah."The Union declared that the 150 (people) who were shot and killed by security officials, "or by the self-employed thugs and criminals, they are martyrs for Allah." [The Union] considered that "Those that were slain are martyrs, for they were killed unjustly and aggressively, for leaving their homes for the purpose of jihad. They enter into the meaning of the noble saying: 'The master of martyrs is Hamza bin 'Abd-al-Muttalib and a man who stood up to an oppressive ruler where he ordered him and forbade him so he [the ruler] killed him." • HT:TheAmericanDream.40 Percent Of Egyptians Live On 2 Dollars A Day Or Less And The Global Elite Like It That Way.After thousands of years of "progress" and "societal evolution", how is it possible that most of the world is still living in soul crushing poverty? In recent days, it has been reported all over the media that 40 percent of Egyptians live on 2 dollars a day or less. Sadly, there are lots of other countries where even larger percentages of the population live in abject poverty. So how in the world did this happen? We can send men into space, we can send electronic communications to the other side of the globe in an instant and we can destroy entire cities with a single bomb and yet we can't figure out how to set up an economic system that will provide jobs, food and housing for everyone on the planet? That doesn't seem right. That doesn't seem right at all.Is something else going on here? Well, a clue can be found in what is going on in Egypt. The revolution in Egypt has created a vacuum of power, and look who is ready to step in - the usual suspects. The head of the International Monetary Fund, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, says that the IMF is prepared and ready to "help" rebuild the Egyptian economy.Mohamed ElBaradei, who is clearly tied to globalist think tanks in the United States, is being touted as the next "leader" of Egypt in the media.Oh, and wouldn't you know it, ElBaradei actually has a book that is almost ready to come out. Isn't that convenient? So how does all of this tie in?Read the full story here.

  • HT:DougRoss.Constitutional crisis brewing: Administration refuses to submit to subpoena requests and court order to cease implementation of Obamacare. The Daily Caller reports that President Obama has snubbed the chairman of the House Oversight and Reform Committee by withholding key documents that were due this past Saturday. The Obama snub is the first sign of how the administration will respond to demands for documents and testimony by key officials ... now that the GOP holds the power of congressional subpoena... [Committee Chairman Darrell Issa stated that] “I asked DHS to produce this information by Jan. 29 – two weeks from the date of my second letter ... The department gave no indication that it would not be able to comply with the deadline.”Further, Issa charges that top DHS officials actually instructed career employees not to search for the documents he is requesting... “I was disappointed to learn that on or about Jan. 20, 2011, DHS’s Office of General Counsel instructed career staff in the Privacy Office not to search for documents responsive to my request,” Issa says in the Feb. 1 letter.Issa is requesting documents from DHS about political interference with Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests to the agency... In July, the Associated Press reported top DHS officials told career employees to steer sensitive FOIA requests to Obama’s political advisers for unusual scrutiny... FOIA requests by lawmakers, watchdog groups and journalists were subjected to the special political reviews...In other words, Freedom of Information requests were routed to Obama's political advisers -- delightful fellows like David Axelrod and Rahm Emanuel -- to help suppress disclosure of information that could prove damaging to the president's image. One wag suggested that Congress may get faster results making requests through WikiLeaks. But this is no joke: it represents the kind of cover-up that led to the fall of Richard Nixon.Speaking of contempt, that's a good word to describe the esteem in which the White House holds the Constitution. Its hatred for the law appears palpable.Defying the will of Congress and the direct order of a federal judge means that the Obama administration is touching off a Constitutional crisis far worse than that which led to Richard Nixon's resignation.Only in this case, the media doesn't care because the president's a left-leaning zealot, just like most of them. This administration is acting as though it's running Venezuela or Nicaragua, which -- come to think of it -- would be far better suited to a man of Obama's talents. This is the United States of America, not a third world dictatorship. If the president refuses to cooperate with Congress and the courts, he should be impeached. No ifs, ands or buts.Hmmmmmm........"L'etat c'est moi"?Read the full story here.

  • HT:AmericanThinker.Obama's Ongoing War on Inspectors General.A cloud of suspicion hangs over the data Barack Obama and his team have been presenting us regarding the purported success of their own programs. The figures presented regarding "jobs created and saved" have been contested. The new metric regarding jobs "saved" has been ridiculed as just a tactic to burnish the numbers. Analysts have looked at various expenditures and have shown in example after example that each job created is often temporary in nature, sometimes occurs overseas, and is often extremely expensive. The figures regarding ObamaCare -- be they the costliness of the program, its effect on the deficit, or the number of uninsured -- are roundly considered suspect, if not an outright numerical analogy to snake-oil claims.Taxpayers pay the price, of course. We always do.But we have some people looking out for our futures in the government -- and these people have been subject to a great deal of pressure from the White House. These are the inspectors general -- the unsung heroes of the government who monitor government agencies. The latest one to report on Obama shenanigans is the inspector general for the Small Business Administration (SBA), who reports that the agency's numbers for "jobs saved" were either "unclear" or "misleading" and cannot be verified.I have written a series of columns that reveal a pattern. One inspector general after another faults the Obama administration for using suspect methodology to burnish its claims regarding job creation. This was not the first time the Obama team tried to elude oversight.Obama's Office of Management and Budget (OMB) threatened an inspector general for daring to tell Congress that the OMB was trying to slash his budget, crimping his ability to monitor spending and other actions by the OMB.The administration fired Inspector General Gerald Walpin after he dared to report that Sacramento's mayor, a Democrat and personal friend of Barack Obama, had engaged in improper use of federal money. Here, we have Obama's modus operandi regarding inspectors generals -- the taxpayers' best friends and the unsung heroes in government. One after another, inspectors general have been reporting that Obama's stewardship of taxpayer money has failed and that the administration has been using funny numbers to bamboozle the public into believing that the programs are succeedingHe has also expressed a desire to expand the powers of inspectors generals. Lord knows they will need the power to counter the machinations of Barack Obama and Company.Hmmmmm.....Never before America has been in greater danger to become a dictatorship.Read the full story here.

  • "Islamophobia"CAIR: 51 Groups Seek Objective Hearings on Muslim 'Radicalization'.The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) today joined dozens of other community, interfaith and civil rights groups in calling on leaders of the U.S. House of Representatives to change the focus of planned hearings on Muslim "radicalization" so that they examine violence motivated by extremist beliefs "in all its forms, in a full, fair and objective way."A joint letter to House Speaker John Boehner and Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi signed by CAIR and 50 other groups states in part: (The letter was coordinated by Muslim Advocates.)"The undersigned community organizations and groups concerned about civil and human rights and national security strongly object to the hearings on violent extremism recently announced by the Chair of the Committee on Homeland Security, Congressman Peter King..."Chairman King has characterized the hearings, tentatively scheduled for February 2011, as focusing exclusively on the 'radicalization of the American Muslim community and homegrown terrorism.' If Chairman King proceeds with these hearings, please urge him to address all forms of violence motivated by extremist beliefs and to do so in a full, fair, and objective way..."Singling out a group of Americans for government scrutiny based on their faith is divisive and wrong. These hearings will inevitably examine activities protected by the First Amendment, an affront to fundamental freedoms upon which our country was founded. It harkens back to hearings held in the 1950s by then-U.S. Senator Joe McCarthy. That dark chapter in our history taught us that Congress has a solemn duty to wield its investigatory power responsibly..."These hearings will almost certainly increase widespread suspicion and mistrust of the American Muslim community and stoke anti-Muslim sentiment. During 2010, we saw an increase in anti-Muslim hatred in public discourse, as well as hate crimes and violence targeting American Muslims, and those perceived to be Muslim, including vandalism and arson of mosques, physical attacks, bullying of children in schools, and attempted murder. No American should live in fear for his or her safety, and Congress should not help create a climate where it is acceptable to target a particular faith community for discrimination, harassment, and violence...  !!!!

  • "Life or death in Iran's prisons".The case of Saeed Malekpour: “Canada, raise your voice louder…”A day after the illegal execution of Iranian-Dutch citizen Zahra Bahrami on January 29, 2011 in Evin prison, the Tehran Prosecutor released a statement on government-controlled news sites about more imminent executions. The announcement caused international Persian media outlets, namely BBC and Voice of America, to go on alert. The Tehran Prosecutor was quoted as saying that the death sentences issued to two admins of obscene websites were sent to the Supreme Court for “confirmation and approval”.Saeed Malekpour, a 35 year old Canadian Permanent Resident imprisoned in Iran is one of the victims mentioned in the statement by the Tehran Prosecutor. Unfortunately, with the case of Zahra Bahrami, since the Dutch government did not take quick steps in her defense, authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran were free of international pressure and had an easy time executing her without fear of any consequences on an international level. At the start of the New Year, Canada’s Foreign Affairs Minister Lawrence Cannon issued a statement on human rights violations in Iran and mentioned the case of Saeed Malekpour: “I am particularly concerned by the uncertain fate of two Canadians of dual nationality who remain in prison in Iran.” He added that Ottawa was worried about reports that Saeed Malekpour had been sentenced to death. Despite Cannon’s statement, Iranian authorities still insist to highlight the news of Saeed Malekpour’s imminent execution in the media. From December 20, 2010 to January 30, 2011 alone, the Islamic Republic of Iran has executed over 118 individuals while many more await to face the gallows. In recent years, Iran has had the highest rate of executions per capita in the world.Saeed Malekpour has been detained in Iran’s notorious Evin prison for over two years. He has endured much physical and psychological torture by interrogators for the purpose of extracting false confessions from him regarding bogus internet-related charges. After spending 444 days in solitary confinement, Saeed Malekpour wrote a letter to Iran’s head of Judiciary, asserting that all his confessions were extracted under immense pressure, torture, threats, and false promises of release, leniency, and bail. In his letter, he described the unfathomable torture he faced: lashings, threats of sexual assault, and interrogation sessions that resulted in broken teeth, a displaced jaw, bodily infections, and bouts of paralysis. When Saeed Malekpour’s letter of torture was ignored by Iranian authorities, his wife who lives in Canada published the text online and it was distributed by international media outlets. This act enraged Iranian authorities and they retaliated by opening up a second case file against Saeed Malekpour, charging him with “Conspiring with his wife against national security”.Read the full story here.

  • Iran rejects Dutch complaint over hanging. Iran rejected on Tuesday Dutch outrage over the hanging of one of its citizens, saying the West should applaud its tough penalties for drug traffickers.Zahra Bahrami, 45, who had both Dutch and Iranian nationality, was hanged on Saturday for drug smuggling, a charge her family says was fabricated after she was arrested for taking part in anti-government protests in 2009.The Netherlands froze official contacts with Iran, saying it had informed The Hague just hours earlier that legal proceedings were still under way. A Dutch foreign affairs ministry spokesman called the execution "an act committed by a barbaric regime". "Dutch officials made certain comments, it looks like they do not have enough information regarding the case of this lady," Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast told a weekly news conference. "They have made these hasty comments."Tehran does not recognise dual nationality and Mehmanparast said any attempt by a foreign government to intervene in such a case amounted to interference in Iran's domestic affairs. The United States and European Union condemned the hanging, criticising Iran for denying Bahrami access to Dutch consular officials and urged Tehran to guarantee the rights of citizens."I call on Iran to halt all pending executions immediately and to declare a moratorium on the use of the death penalty," EU foreign affairs chief Catherine Ashton said in a statement. Rights groups say Iran is second only to China in the number of people it executes, and is first in terms of per capita executions. The western-based International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran calculated Iran had executed an average of one person every eight hours since the start of the year.Dutch Foreign Minister Uri Rosenthal has come under pressure over the issue, delaying a trip to Turkey on Tuesday to answer questions in parliament from the anti-Islam Freedom Party over why he did not expel the Iranian ambassador.Detentions of Western citizens have further soured relations between Iran and Western nations strained by a dispute over Tehran's nuclear programme which it says is peaceful but many countries fear has military ends.On Monday, a court summoned American Sarah Shourd, 32, to return to Iran to stand trial for spying along with two other U.S. citizens who have been in custody since July 2009 when all three were arrested near the border with Iraq.Hmmmm.......Khomeini""An Islamic regime must be serious in every field,""There are no jokes in Islam. • Yemen president says won't extend presidential term.Saleh vows not to pass on reins of government to his son, call on opposition to freeze all planned protests, rallies, sit-ins. 'Interests of the country come before our personal interests,' he says.Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh, a key US ally against al Qaeda, said on Wednesday he will not seek to extend his presidency in a move that would end his three-decade rule when his current term expires in 2013.Eyeing protests that brought down Tunisia's leader and threaten to topple Egypt's president, Saleh also vowed not to pass on the reins of government to his son, but asked the opposition to hold down on protests. "I present these concessions in the interests of the country. The interests of the country come before our personal interests," Saleh told his parliament, Shoura Council and members of the military. "No extension, no inheritance, no resetting the clock," he said, making reference to ruling party proposals to institute term limits that had been seen as allowing him to run again.Read the full story here.

  • U.S. charges Iranian man with smuggling rocket metals to Iran.U.S. authorities have accused an Iranian man of operating an international smuggling network that illegally exported specialized metals used in rockets from the United States to his home country to support Iran's ballistic missile program. Milad Jafari, 36, believed to be at large in Iran, was indicted on 11 counts of fraud, illegal export and illegal smuggling by a federal grand jury in Washington on July 21, according to court documents unsealed Monday. Justice Department officials said Jafari and his associates set up companies outside Iran to provide "direct support" to Iran's missile program by securing metal products such as steel and aluminum alloys. The materials were bound for entities controlled by Iran's Aerospace Industries Organization, a subsidiary of Iran's military that oversees its missile industry and that has been subject to U.S. sanctions since 2005. Officials say Jafari falsely claimed that shipments were destined for Turkey, then exploited that NATO member's customs controls to send materials on to Iran. The Justice indictment said Jafari ran two businesses active in Istanbul and Tehran, called Macpar Makina and Standard Teknik Parca, or STEP. Treasury officials said Jafari was helped by his parents and brother, as well as Turkish nationals and business associates Muammer Kuntay Duransoy and Cagri Duransoy. The investigation was disclosed as the United States has stepped up sanctions across a range of economic fronts in response to Iran's nuclear and missile programs, targeting shipping, trade and financial sectors over the last year.Hmmmmm......With 'friends" like Turkey, who needs enemies?Read the full story here.

  • Canada-U.S. border security 'unacceptably ineffective': report. Two prominent American senators say a U.S. government watchdog's report should "sound a loud alarm" over security gaps along the U.S.-Canada border.Senate Homeland Security chair Joseph Lieberman and Republican Senator Susan Collins said the report prepared by the U.S. Government Accountability Office shows American and Canadian agencies do not have the ability to detect illegal crossings of drugs, weapons and people along the vast majority of the border. The report concluded just 50 kilometres along more than 6,400 kilometres of the border had reached an "acceptable level of security" in 2010.Lieberman said the findings should send a message to the Department of Homeland Security and the Canadian government that more must be done."The GAO report makes clear that the defence of our northern border is nonetheless unacceptably ineffective," Lieberman said Tuesday in a press conference in Washington. "It's weak, weaker than it should be and needs to be."Lieberman said that while Americans traditionally view their border with Mexico as more porous and dangerous, the report said the Homeland Security department has concluded the risk of "terrorist activity" across the northern border is actually higher than across the southern border."Why? Because there are more Islamist extremist groups in Canada than Mexico," Lieberman told reporters.Hmmmm......They don't drop Jihad manuals and Iranian martire lists on the Canadian border!!!Genius They're crossing the Mexican - US border by the truckloads and he's going to blame Canada?Wake up and smell the coffee!.Read the full story here.

  • HT:AmericanThinker.America and the Middle East Food Riots.Perhaps the most overused but most accurate term used to describe the policies and ideology of the American left is the "Law of Unintended Consequences." There is virtually nothing that these people espouse that, once put in place, has not had detrimental effects on either the people of the United States or the world. Today there is a global food shortage and skyrocketing prices. This has become the underlying factor in the riots in Tunisia, Algeria, and Egypt, where up to 56% of a person's income is dedicated to the acquisition of food. These riots are now leading to the upheaval of governments and the very real possibility of the ascendancy of the radical elements into control. While bad weather in various parts of the world is an element of the accelerating food prices, there are two other factors directly related to the United States and its policies.First, because of the enormous deficits run up by the Obama administration and the Democrat-controlled Congress, the Federal Reserve has had to effectively print trillions of dollars, which have flooded the global market. Commodities are priced in dollars; consequently, emerging markets throughout the world, and the food sector in particular, are suffering from rapidly rising inflation. The CRB food index is up an incredible 36% over last year. Raw materials are up 23%. Since 2009, the dollar has declined by over 13% against the Japanese yen and 25% against the Canadian dollar. Thus, the future price of corn per bushel in January 2011 is $6.51, as compared to $3.84 in January 2010 -- an increase of nearly 70%. While the price spike is in part due to lower yields, had the corn destined for ethanol been put back into the overall corn stocks, the net effect would have been to offset this lower crop, and the global market would have maintained the 2010 price level despite the inflationary impact of the dollar. There is no quicker way to foment riots and revolution than to deprive the populace of food, particularly when so much daily income goes into feeding oneself and one's family. The pictures we have seen in North Africa may well be repeated elsewhere throughout the world. This time, the "Law of Unintended Consequences" wrought by the policies of the American left and the Obama administration will be limited not only to the United States, but also to many throughout the world. If the riots in Egypt and the Middle East take a severe and radical turn, then the prospect of open warfare in that region, which will involve the United States, will become a near certainty.Hmmmmm.......If he wanted to destroy America would he do it any other way?Read the full story here.

What ensued is Turkish-instigated military confrontation with Israel which will surely grow after the interception of Turkish terrorist flotilla last year. With yesterday’s diplomatic spat with the Serb Republic, like with Israel, Turkey seems to be signaling that Bosnian Serbs are Turkey’s next target of confrontation.Yesterday, Erdogan’s confrontational modus operandi was in full display in the Bosnian Serb Republic when Turkey’s Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu demanded that the flag of the Serb Republic be removed if he is to take part in a scheduled meeting with Nebojsa Radmanovic, Serb representative of Bosnia’s tripartite presidency.Davutoglu was into 75 minutes of a no-show for a scheduled meeting with Radmanovic when Turkey’s delegation said that the reason for the delay is the hoisted Serbian flag.Radmanovic promptly canceled the meeting citing that 75 minutes has passed.“We believe that such behavior by the Turkish side is not exemplary and is a diplomatic incident that will surely have repercussions,” said Serb Republic’s statement on the issue.Davutoglu’s real reason for his arrival to Banja Luka is not to meet Dodik and talk empty phrases. Davutoglu purpose was expressed more symbolically in his visit to Banja Luka’s mosque where the Imam said that the rebuilding of the mosque will be done with the original rocks – the same rocks Turkish occupiers used to build their power in Bosnia.Hmmmm......More and more they behave like the Iranian dictators!GET TURKEY OUT OF NATO !These are the "Friends" of Obama who will rape "Protect " democracy in the Middle East?Read the full story here.
