• Is the FBI Investigating Obama?(NewZeal).In a front page story about a major FBI terrorism investigation, The Washington Post has reported that the targets include “Chicagoans who crossed paths with Obama when he was a young state senator and some who have been active in labor unions that supported his political rise.” The implication is that the trail could lead to the White House.This is an unusual investigation that does not primarily involve Islamists. Instead, it is focused on elements of the old international communist networks that many people mistakenly thought had faded away with the collapse of the Soviet Union. Those under investigation are suspected of providing support to foreign terrorist organizations such as the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine in the Middle East, a Marxist group. The Post called them “Colombian and Palestinian groups designated by the U.S. government as terrorists.”The investigations came into public view last September when the FBI raided the homes of several “activists,” as the Post called them. Some lived in Chicago.One of the targets, Tom Burke, was a union organizer for the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). He was so confident he would get a fair shake from the Post that he provided the paper with a photo of himself shaking hands with Barack Obama. The other apparent intention was to send a message to the President and Attorney General Eric Holder that any investigation of Burke might lead to Obama.The Post suggested that investigations of labor union activists might jeopardize their support for Obama’s 2012 presidential run. Indeed, it could therefore threaten his re-election bid, if investigations determine that the activists did more than “cross paths” with the President.Deep inside the article, in the 29th paragraph, we find out that some of the “activists” are associated with a group known as the Freedom Road Socialist Organization (FRSO), a Marxist-Leninist organization. Burke is a member of the FRSO, which the Post admitted was “far left.”The obvious question is why Obama, as a state senator in Illinois, would ever have “crossed paths” with such people. The answer goes beyond just union support for the candidate. The “far-left” networks that include the FRSO, the Communist Party USA, the New American Movement, and the Democratic Socialists of America backed and even spawned Obama’s political career. Don’t forget that Weather Underground leaders Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn hosted a fundraiser for his first run for political office. The same networks also backed CIA Director Leon Panetta’s career when he was a congressman from Santa Cruz, California. This helps explain why Obama would pick Panetta, with no intelligence background, to run the intelligence agency. They are cut from the same cloth.Nevertheless, on Tuesday, the Senate voted 100-0 in favor of Panetta’s nomination as Secretary of Defense. It was a classic case of “head in the sand” politics, ignoring not only Panetta’s long-time relationship with Communist Party member Hugh DeLacy but his record as a congressman in undercutting then-President Reagan’s pro-defense policies at every turn.Obama and Panetta were players in the “progressive” community, which since the days of Henry Wallace, presidential candidate of the Progressive Party, has had a red tint. Obama had his own communist mentor, Frank Marshall Davis, a Communist Party member under FBI investigation for 19 years, while Panetta gave DeLacy, who had traveled to China to meet with Soviet and Chinese intelligence agents, sensitive reports on U.S. military matters. Any notion that Panetta had no awareness of DeLacy’s Communist affiliation was obliterated when Panetta in 1983 inserted a tribute to DeLacy into the Congressional Record, praising his resistance to “McCarthyism.”Former FBI agent Max Noel once told me that the Bureau used to investigate candidates for federal employment by analyzing Character, Associates, Reputation, and Loyalty to the United States. The first letters in those words make up the acronym CARL. By the standard of “A”—Associates—Panetta flunks. But so does Obama.Another sensitive case involves Huma Abedin, a top aide to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and wife of disgraced Rep. Anthony Weiner. Walid Shoebat and Ben Barrack have reported that Arab newspapers have revealed that Huma Abedin’s mother is a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, a group whose goal is to subvert Western civilization. Jamie Glazov of Front Page Magazine asks Robert Spencer, “There is a remote possibility that Abedin is actually being deceptive in her marriage to Weiner to follow Muslim Brotherhood instructions and to infiltrate the U.S. government, correct?” Spencer replies, “Certainly. That is a very real possibility, and it should be investigated. But the only ones who have the means to do so are mainstream media journalists who are either clueless or complicit.”It may also be the case that the FBI never investigated Abedin’s background.As the FBI does not vet presidential candidates for national security purposes, we know there would have been no FBI investigation into Obama’s own background, associations, loyalty, and overall fitness for office. The FBI only probes those being considered for some federal positions under the president. They should have therefore investigated Panetta. But there is no indication that he was ever properly vetted. Now he is confirmed as Secretary of Defense because conservative Republican Senators were apparently afraid of being accused of McCarthyism for questioning his past associations.On the other hand, the “progressives” are raising hell with Obama and want him to rein in the FBI. They want to further emasculate the agency charged with ferretting out subversives and terrorist support networks.As the Post noted, “nine members of Congress have written letters to the administration” complaining about the FBI probe of Burke and other activists. The Post even noted that another one of the targets of the investigation, a union organizer named Tracy Molm, managed to arrange a meeting with Holder himself.Pro-Marxist activist Medea Benjamin has said she managed to have a few words with Holder as well to complain about the probes. She is with the Code Pink group that travels to Gaza to meet with the terrorist group Hamas. She is also a staunch ally of Adam Kokesh, the “Russia Today” TV star who openly admits that he functions as a paid Russian agent of the Vladimir Putin regime.Holder is receptive to this kind of appeal because of his friendship with Obama and record as Deputy Attorney General in the Clinton Administration for facilitating pardons and clemency for terrorists from the Puerto Rican FALN and Weather Underground. It is this record that puts the current investigations by the FBI in serious jeopardy.Read the full story here.

• Farrakhan: Your Record, America, Stinks In The Eyes of God.(BigGovernment).How did he get out again? He should have been sitting in a padded room wearing one of those nice trench coats with the long sleeves that tie into a knot around the back. But somehow the slug from the Nation of Islam, one of the biggest purveyors of hateful venom in the world Louis Farrakhan, must have escaped again.The Muslim leader who was recently quoted as saying America will be bathed in blood, and told Al-Jazeera that 9/11 was planned by the US because “America was looking for a New Pearl Harbor.”On June 15th Farrakhan joined such “luminaries” as Ramsey Clark and the always-crazy former Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney in a press conference near the UN to speak out against the US action in Libya. No, Farrakhan is not suddenly concerned with the constitution and/or the war powers act, his concern was that no one knows Moammar Gadhafi like he does and the Libyan tyrant is a real nice guy (he didn’t mention it but I bet Gadhafi calls him mom every day).Farrakhan gave a speech that lasted more than an hour, praising Libya and bashing the West.He began by saying that NATO is using the Security Council as a pretext to assassinate his good buddy “Brother” Moammar Gadhafi and promote regime change in Libya. He says the UN fostered the revolt and created a Civil War in Libya as if Gadhafi’s tyrannical rule had nothing to do with it, nor did the fact that he was shooting his own people have anything to do with why NATO went into Libya.The loony leader predicts that this action will destroy both the UN and the Nations involved.United Nations and its 15-member Security Council, who he referred to as “the terror council,” have no legitimate right to exist for passing the resolution that has allowed NATO to take military action in Libya. He claims the reason why the action was taken was to Punish “Brother Leader Gadhafi” for nationalizing Libyan Oil forty years ago.“What has Moammar Gadhafi done to deserve what this united coalition of demons is putting on him?” Farrakhan said to murmurs of approval from his supporters. “They say he has lost the moral right (to rule) because he has killed his own people. But you have never proved that charge. Check the record.”Hey Crazy Louie…we saw it on TV, we saw it on the internet, maybe the asylum didn’t give you video privileges those days.Farrakhan went to spew a list of everything done by the US, England, France and Italy that Crazy Louie considered bad, including trying to oust those other “nice guy” tyrants Castro in Cuba and Papa Doc in Haiti.Farakhan went on to compare life in Libya today to the West saving the harshest criticism for his home country, the United States. Apparently according to Farrakhan, Libya has no poverty,or homelessness. But as for America, “Your Record America Stinks In The Eyes of God”.What is hard to understand is that if Libya is perfect and the US is so awful, why doesn’t crazy Louie move to Libya and help out “Brother” Moammar Gadhafi.Outside of the progressive community, Farrakhan’s attempt to prove the US is worse than Gadhafi falls on deaf ears. • Report: Hezbollah Preparing For War With Israel To Deflect Attention From Syria.(BigPeace).Lebanon’s Hezbollah is preparing for a possible war with Israel to relieve perceived Western pressure to topple Syrian PresidentBashar Assad, its guardian ally, sources close to the movement say.The radical Shi’ite group is watching the unrest in neighboring Syria with alarm and is determined to prevent the West from exploiting popular protests to bring down Assad.Hezbollah supported pro-democracy movements that toppled Western-backed leaders in Tunisia and Egypt, but officials say it will not stand idly by as international pressure mounts on Assad to yield to protesters.It is committed to do whatever it takes politically to help deflect what it sees as a foreign campaign against Damascus, but it is also readying for a possible war with Israel if Assad is weakened.“Hezbollah will never intervene in Syria. This is an internal issue for President Bashar to tackle. But when it sees the West gearing up to bring him down, it will not just watch,” a Lebanese official close to the group’s told Reuters.“This is a battle for existence for the group and it is time to return the favor (of Syria’s support). • Geert Wilders acquitted of inciting hatred.(RTE).Dutch far-right politician Geert Wilders has been acquitted on charges of hate speech and discrimination for statements he made attacking Islam.'You are being acquitted on all the charges that were put against you,' Judge Marcel van Oosten told Mr Wilders in Amsterdam.'The bench finds that your statements are acceptable within the context of the public debate,' Judge van Oosten told Mr Wilders, 47, who has been on trial since last October.The MP faced five counts of hate speech and discrimination for his anti-Islamic remarks on websites, internet forums and in Dutch newspapers between October 2006 and March 2008, and in his controversial 17-minute movie "Fitna" ("Discord" in Arabic).The case has tested freedom of speech in the traditionally liberal country."I am here because of what I have said," Wilders stated, "I am here for having spoken. Democrats in the Senate on Wednesday called on Vice President Joe Biden to include new economic stimulus spending in deficit-reduction talks as a way of lowering the 9.1 percent jobless rate that is hobbling the economic recovery.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid made the proposal to the White House, Richard Durbin, the No. 2 Democratic senator, told reporters.“The Republicans are fixating on the budget deficit and it’s a serious problem,” Durbin said.But citing the conclusions of a presidential deficit-cutting commission that he served on last year, Durbin added, “Get the recovery right before you get in this deficit cutting mode … get people back to work. Let’s start moving in that direction.”More spending should do a lot to address this problem:The Congressional Budget Office reported Wednesday that the nation probably will owe outside creditors more than the size of the entire economy in 10 years.The forecast — a public debt equal to 101% of the economy in 2021, and rising to 187% by 2035 unless dramatic changes are made — should be a warning to President Obama, Congress and Vice President Biden’s band of bipartisan negotiators meeting daily to devise just a short-term fix.Should be a warning, but obviously it isn’t.Hmmmmmm......."Some one had blunder'd.Theirs not to make reply,Theirs not to reason why,Theirs but to do and die."Read the full story here.

• CAIR Taps Hizballah Apologist For Tampa Office.(BigPeace).For a group which claims to stand against terrorism, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) made an odd choice for the new chief of its Tampa chapter.Hassan Shibly has a track record of defending terrorist groups and acting as an apologist for radical Islam. Following the 2006 Israel-Lebanon War, Shibly granted legitimacy to Hizballah by characterizing it as a “resistance movement” that provides valued social services to the Lebanese people. “They’re absolutely not a terrorist organization,” Shibly said, and “any war against them is illegitimate.”As a testament to his support for Hizballah’s cause, Shibly even expressed a desire to travel to Lebanon to aid the group’s war effort.When asked to explicitly condemn Hamas and Hezbollah as terrorist groups, Shibly wouldn’t. “Of course we condemn every single act of violence directed against—by Hamas and by Hizballah—directed against civilians,” Shibly said in a Feb. 28 lecture at a church in Youngstown, N.Y. “But the trick we fall into is when we want to condemn them as a whole we completely cut off any chances for having a peace process.”To the public, however, CAIR offers a gentler face for Shibly.His CAIR biography casts him as a man who works actively with inter-faith and social service organizations to “promote cooperation and understanding between diverse faiths and cultures.”In a statement to the Tampa public, Shibly wrote “It is essential we work together as a community, with all those who stand for peace, freedom, love, and mutual respect, to counter those who wish to promote fear, hatred, and violence.”But on his own Facebook page, Shibly defended a radical imam killed by the FBI after he opened fire on agents moving in to arrest him. In an October 2009 post, Shibly questioned the use of force against Imam Luqman Abdullah even though the criminal complaint against him made it clear Abdullah advocated violent jihad and urged followers never to surrender peacefully to authorities.CAIR also championed Abdullah’s case, with the executive director of its Michigan chapter, Dawud Walid, unleashing a series of conspiratorial tirades against the government for its actions against the armed imam.Shibly’s online profile also features American-born Islamic cleric Khalid Yasin as an “Interest.” Yasin is known for his controversial views, including a 2005 interview in which he says that Muslims cannot be friends with non-Muslims; that suicide bombings are understandable; and that the U.S. orchestrated 9/11 to wage a war against Islam. “There’s no such thing as a Muslim having a non-Muslim friend,” he said. “If you prefer the clothing of the kafirs [disbelievers] over the clothing of the Muslims, most of those names that’s on most of those clothings is (sic) faggots, homosexuals and lesbians.”Yasin goes further, encouraging children to take up the “honor” of throwing stones and confronting Israeli soldiers when there are no more men left to do it.In an interview with Pajamas Media in July 2010, Shibly said he was unaware of Yasin’s contentious remarks and appreciated being informed of them. Yet almost a year later, Yasin still appears on Shibly’s profile.These negative representations of Shibly become less surprising when one considers his religious inspiration. Shibly’s understanding of tolerance and justice admittedly come from his father, who studied under Sheikh Ahmad Kuftaro, the former Grand Mufti of Syria, and his protégé, Sheikh Rajab Deeb.While Kuftaro promoted interfaith cooperation on his English-language site, in Arabic, he accused the “Jewish lobby” of controlling world opinion and of being “the killers of prophets.” He also asserts that “all Muslims are obligated to do jihad upon the Zionists.”Similarly, Deeb wrote that Jews “want to remove and destroy every trace except for their footsteps… and eradicate every race except their race, and they claim to be God’s Chosen People.”Shibly seems to have adopted anti-Semitic and anti-Israel views of his own. In one of his Facebook notes, Shibly equates Israelis with Nazis, juxtaposing images from the Holocaust with images of Israeli soldiers interacting with Palestinians. He also describes Israel as an apartheid state and frequently denounces its “state terrorism.”Shibly’s disdain for Israel is matched only by his ill-will towards America. In his recent Tampa address, Shibly calls America “a great nation.” However, earlier statements, blogs, and Facebook posts suggest he feels otherwise.In addition to expressing distrust of government agencies, like the FBI, Shibly has also linked to an article calling President Bush a war criminal; accused America of being imperialistic and consumed by its pursuit of oil; and endorsed conspiracy theories about U.S. actions, including questioning the U.S. 9/11 narrative and promoting the idea that the U.S. backs Iraqi suicide bombings to justify its presence there.In the 2010 interview, Shibly said that Sharia law, and not democracy, should be implemented in countries where Muslims are the majority.Shibly’s support of tolerance and civil rights doesn’t extend to homosexuals either. “This issue really comes down to weather [sic] a person believes in God or not,” it says in an article posted on his Facebook and Twitter pages about gay marriage.“Thus for example, if God says marriage is solely between a man and women, or, if He permits polygamy, then so be it. Who are we to question God? A slave has no authority to question the King in his own kingdom.”In 2004, Shibly was detained with several others at the Canadian border while returning from the “Reviving Islamic Spirit” conference in Toronto. The conference featured a host of controversial speakers, including the virulent anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan and William Baker, an anti-Semite with neo-Nazi connections. Shibly sued the Department of Homeland Security for what he believed was racial profiling, but lost the initial case and the appeal after courts found his detainment was not overly intrusive.“In this instance, we had credible intelligence that conferences similar to the one from which these individuals were leaving were being used by terrorist organizations to fundraise and to hide the travel of terrorists themselves,” said Kristi Clemens, spokeswoman for U.S. Customs and Border Protection.In an effort to blur the connection between Islam and terrorism, Shibly misrepresented facts, like those taken from this European Union study, in a church lecture in February. While Shibly accurately stated that Islamists were responsible for the smallest percentage of terrorist attacks in the EU between 2006-08, he failed to mention other significant findings. Among them are that several EU member states believe that they continue to face a high-level threat from Islamist terrorism; of 384 terrorism verdicts in 2008, half were related to Islamist terrorism; and Islamists engage in the least targeted killing, aiming for mass casualties with their attacks.Shibly has said that his online posts and choice of scholarly sources don’t necessary reflect his true opinions, but he fails to provide comments contradicting the views expressed or other sources presenting opposing viewpoints.Read the full story here.

• Republican Senators Introduce Amendment To Defund Obama’s Czars.(DailyCaller).Four Republican senators seek to cut off money to czars in the Obama administration and force current and future czars to undergo a Senate confirmation.The senators, David Vitter of Louisiana, Rand Paul of Kentucky, Dean Heller of Nevada and Chuck Grassley of Iowa, have introduced the amendment in the Nominations Process Reform Bill.Heller said the amendment, which defines czar as the “head of any task force, council, policy office or similar office established by the president that has not been confirmed by the U.S. Senate,” excluding the National Security Advisor, could return some accountability to the current administration’s nomination process.“The nomination process was put in place so individuals seeking high-level positions in government are held accountable,” Heller said. “Czars are given a great amount of authority and control within the federal government without being nominated or vetted. The American public deserves to know who the President is appointing within his administration.”The amendment mirrors recent legislation by Lousiana Republican Rep. Steve Scalise, who introduced efforts targeting the post of “climate czar” in 2011 by halting the position’s funding.Read the full story here.

• Rev. Jeremiah Wright the former pastor of Barack Obama 20-Year Spiritual Mentor: “The State of Israel Is An Illegal, Genocidal … Place”.(BaltimoreSun). Forget hope and change; victimization is in. Dropped by the president and dismissed as a racist by many Americans, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright still draws crowds with his sometimes crotch-grabbing, always riveting soliloquies about black oppression.The former pastor of Barack Obama drew thousands last week to the 8,000-member Empowerment Temple in Baltimore City. Overflow lots at the church were filled, and five blocks on either side of the massive stadium-like stucco building in Park Heights — a part of town where Orthodox Jews mix sometimes uneasily with blacks — were wall to wall with cars.“Barack Obama was selected before he was elected,” said Mr. Wright, dressed in black pants and a short-sleeved, African-style printed tunic. “Wall Street selected him. GM, Ford and Chrysler selected him. When you are selected by them, you are beholden to them. Referencing the Book of Exodus, he warned churchgoers to “Please remember that Pharaoh was black, so not all of your oppressors are white.” A chorus of “amen” and a phalanx of arms rose simultaneously into the air in agreement with Mr. Wright.And he said faith was not a path to riches, repeatedly poking the expensively dressed Empowerment Temple Pastor Jamal Bryant for driving a Range Rover. “Every word that is in the Bible was written under six different types of [government] oppression,” he said.Mr. Wright spread the blame for black persecution around on lots of people and epochs. He hates Roman emperors for renaming months after themselves and upsetting their proper numerical order; Michelangelo for painting Jesus as white; U.S. public schools for teaching the American Revolution instead of African history. In particular, he hates the term “Middle East,” as it implies Europe as the center of the world.And he hates Israel. ”The state of Israel is an illegal, genocidal … place,” he said. “To equate Judaism with the state of Israel is to equate Christianity with [rapper] Flavor Flav.” Laughter erupted from the mostly female audience on that remark.Hmmmmm......If you are inclined to believe Obama, he never heard anything like this during the weekly sermons he attended for over two decades"Hallelujah"?Read the full story here.

• Flotilla of fools to include embedded useful idiots.(IsraelMatzav).I saw a tweet yesterday about reporters being embedded on the flotilla of fools, but didn't have time to look for details about it. Alana Goodman reports that reporters from the New York Times, CNN and CBS will be along for the trip - and apparently some others.Alana thinks this might be a good thing. The one upside of this development is at least now flotilla activists will have a more difficult time attacking IDF soldiers with knives once the network news cameras are rolling. But the unfortunate downside is these reporters are giving the flotilla activists exactly what they’re aiming for – media attention. Seeing as there’s no humanitarian reason for the flotilla (which is even more obvious now that the Egyptian border with Gaza has been opened), its only point is to generate publicity. The activists are sure to receive a lot of media coverage this time around – and they won’t even have to resort to stabbing soldiers to get it.I would guess that any reporter who will be allowed on one of those ships will be sympathetic to their cause in the first place. So I wouldn't expect them to do anything to prevent another armed attack on IDF soldiers. And remember that on the Mavi Marmara, the IHH thugs sent everyone who wasn't one of their own to the lowest deck before the 'action' started.But my guess is that there will be no boarding this time. According to the Canadian Boat to Gaza website, the mosque has held a fundraising dinner for the Tahrir, and its Operations Manager will be sailing on board.“As a former peacekeeper I feel compelled to defend Israel’s right to exist in peace,” says Mr. Vandermaas. ”The people of London should be concerned that a religious institution in their community such as the London Muslim Mosque is playing a key role in supporting an effort that, if successful, will make it possible for the Hamas terrorist organization to import even more arms for the purpose of carrying out its stated objective of killing Jews and seeing Israel “obliterated.”" Contrary to the assertions of Tahrir supporters, Israel does not prevent humanitarian aid from reaching the Gaza people, and even the Red Cross in Gaza has stated, in April 2011, there is no humanitarian crisis in Gaza.All those who wish to support this campaign are invited to join Mr. Vandermaas at the London Muslim Mosque and to bring Israeli, Canadian or United Nations flags.

• Islam Buying Out Western Academia.(IsraelNationalNews).Founded in 1789 by the Jesuits, Georgetown, the oldest Catholic university in the United States, must explain why it accepted $325.000 from the Council on American-Islamic Relations, which the FBI identifies as the US channel of Hamas.The donation, revealed by Pajamas Media, was transferred to Georgetown by the Organization for the Islamic Conference for the purpose of organizing a symposium on “Islamophobia".The famous Catholic university already received 40 million dollars from the Saudi prince Alwaleed bin Talal and the Qatar Foundation in 2005.The story of the Saudi donations in the United States dates back to 1976, when Riyadh transferred one million dollars to the University of Southern California.In 1979, Saudi Aramco World magazine published a list of Middle Eastern gifts, including $200,000 from the Saudis to Duke University for a program in Islamic and Arabian development studies; $750,000 from the Libyan government for a chair of Arab culture at Georgetown University; and $250,000 from the United Arab Emirates for a visiting professorship of Arab history, also at Georgetown.Until that time, Ryadh spent one hundred billion dollars to spread Wahhabism, the most anti-Semitic and extremist version of Islam.Leading the list of “beneficiaries” is Harvard, with about 30 million dollars. The jewel of the Ivy League received 20 million in 2005 alone.20 million dollars were donated to the Middle East Studies Center at the University of Arkansas; 5 million dollars to the Center for Middle East Studies at Berkeley, in California; 11 million to Cornell University in Ithaca, New York and a half million dollars to Texas University (the seventh university, in order of size, in the United States); 1 million to Princeton; 5 million dollars to Rutgers University.The Arab donations are spreading in Europe as well. In April, a scandal involved St. Andrews University, the third most important in the British academy and a cradle of royal nobility. Hundred of thousands of pounds were discovered to have been sent from Damascus to fund a center for “Syrian studies” there.In March there was the scandal involving the London School of Economics, one of the best known universities in the world that conferred a doctorate to Saif al Islam Gaddafi, the son of the Libyan dictator. Shortly after receiving his doctorate, Saif al Islam "dropped" a donation to the university of a half million pounds, donated by the Gaddafi Foundation named after his father.Oxford has a research center funded by the Iranian regime, while at Cambridge the funds come from Saudi Arabia, Oman and Iran.Scholarships and degree programs are the favorite and easiest weapons of the Islamist regimes to influence the Western academies and their freedoms. Eight universities, including Oxford and Cambridge, have accepted more than 233.5 million pounds sterling from Saudi and Muslim sources since 1995. The total sum, revealed by Anthony Glees, the director of Brunel University's Centre for Intelligence and Security Studies, amounts to the largest source of external funding to UK universities.Universities that have accepted donations from Saudi royals and other Arab sources include Oxford, Cambridge, Durham, University College London, the London School of Economics, Exeter, Dundee and City.The consequences of the funding have been very clear: 70 per cent of political science lectures at the Middle Eastern Centre at St Antony’s College, Oxford, were “implacably hostile” to the West and Israel. At Georgetown, the money was funneled toward its Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding, which was quickly renamed the Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding. The center, part of the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service, trains many of America’s diplomats and it spreads anti-Semitic and anti-western ideas.There are 17 federally funded centers on American college campuses devoted solely to Middle Eastern studies centers and most of them support pro-Islamist ideas. The Soviet Union during the Cold War invested much less for its propaganda operations in the West. But there is another big difference. The Western intelligentia fought the Communist efforts to subvert the West. Their post-modern heirs are offering appeasement to the Islamist agenda. • Brussels, the Muslim Capital of Europe.(IslamVersusEurope).More and more stories confirm that Brussels is emerging as the Muslim capital of Europe.Molenbeek seems to be the area worst affected by the Mohammedan presence. One prominent advertising agency, Mortierbrigade, recently announced that it was moving out of the area owing to high crime levels. Ironically, this agency was previously responsible for a campaign called "Streets Without Hate" that was directed against the Flemish nationalist Vlaams Belang party. Another advertising agency, BBDO, also declared that its staff faced an atmosphere of constant threat. It had put up barbed wire around its car park and reserved the parking spaces inside for female members of staff who were the most threatened outside. The Socialist burgomeister, Philippe Moureaux, made light of these claims, insisting that "all of this debate is based on lies" and that "Moelenbeek isn't the Bronx". Ten members of the BBDO staff then wrote to him, insisting that every one of them had been the victim of crimes, ranging from having their handbags stolen at knifepoint to having windows broken or guns pointed at them.Also in Molenbeek, some police officers have complained to their trade unions that they are being told they have to "participate" in Ramadan by not eating, drinking or booking people during the day to avoid "provocations". The trade union spokesmen admit that their members have been told this informally and that there is no paper and no proof. The local government denies that these instructions have been issued.As Brussels adapts to its new Muslim owners, many of the city's old monuments are no longer considered appropriate. One was recently defaced by order of the council. A number of "anti-racist" organisations, as well as the states of Jordan and Saudi Arabia, had complained about it. The monument celebrated the triumph of Leopold II over the Arab slavers in the Congo, who had exploited and enslaved the indigenous blacks before Belgium stamped out the slave trade there. An inscription read "Belgian military heroism annihilates the Arab slaver". The word "Arab" has now been effaced from the inscription in both French and Dutch! Other Brussels monuments are also now considered suspect. Meanwhile, Israel said on Wednesday it has warned the United Nations a new aid flotilla intending to challenge Israel's sea blockade of the Gaza Strip could result in "dangerous consequences.""Israel calls on all nations to do all in their power to prevent the ... flotilla from occurring - and to effectively caution their citizens about the risks associated with participating in such harmful provocations," new UN Ambassador to the United Nations Ron Prosor said."Launched under the false pretext of providing humanitarian assistance, this provocation is clearly designed only to serve an extremist political agenda -and holds the potential for dangerous consequences," he said in a letter to the UN Security Council and to Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.Israel has made clear it will prevent the pro-Palestinian aid flotilla from reaching Gaza. • Turkey - Woman jumps out window to escape husband's torture.(TodaysZaman).A woman in the western province of Balıkesir, who was subjected to continuous and severe torture by her husband and was not allowed to leave their home, jumped out a window to escape further torture at the hands of her husband.Nurgül Ö. (35) told police that she has been married to Selami Ö. for 10 years and that she had left the house before due to the violence her husband subjected her to, but had to return home following her husband's threats that he would kill their three children.“After I returned home, he told me that he had a big surprise for me and sent the children to their uncle. [Later] when I came home he had a big plastic pipe in his hand. He told me that he bought a meat-mincing machine and that we would sell minced meat. He locked all the doors. He took me to a room and he beat me. He took a [pair of] scissors, a knife, the plastic pipe and pliers. He began hitting my body with the pipe. He began pinching my arms, legs and hands with the pliers. He told me that he would mince me in the meat-mincing machine. He said he will beat me continuously. He said he will, in the end, kill me, cut out all of my organs and put them in the machine,” the woman said as she explained her ordeal to police.Nürgül Ö. also said her husband then locked her in the bathroom for two days and tortured her. “He gave me medication to make me sleep and not to shout. He raped me several times. One day he was having shower in the bathroom and I was also there, as he wanted to keep an eye on me. I jumped out the window while his face was soapy. I went to police and they hospitalized me,” she said.The woman has being receiving medical attention for four days while police, who were searching for her husband, found him on Wednesday in the Akçay district of Balıkesir. He was brought to Balıkesir for interrogation and is expected to held under arrest pending further investigation, Balıkesir Police Chief Ömer Aydın said.

In a separate case, a woman in Bartın who was under the protection of the Public Prosecutor's Office was shot dead on Wednesday by her abusive husband.After suffering from domestic violence at the hands of her husband, Hasan M., 53, Rengiye M., 42, fled from her home in Zonguldak with their two children and went to her father's house in the Serdar Village of Bartın Province.In Bartın, Rengiye filed a petition for divorce and was taken into protection by the Public Prosecution Office. Gendarme officers paid regular visits to Rengiye's house to see if she was fine.The two children called their father, saying that they wanted to show him and other relatives in Zonguldak their school report cards. On Wednesday, Hasan went to his wife's house, took their children into his automobile and called out to his wife from the car's window to say something. When Hasan heard a negative reply from his wife, he got out of the car and shot her dead.Rengiye's body was taken to the Bartın State Hospital morgue. • Iraq: AINA publishes photos of tortured, mutilated and murdered Christian.(TeaAndPolitics).The decapitated body of a Christian man has been discovered in Kirkuk, northern Iraq, a few days after he was kidnapped. Ashur Yacob Issa, 29, was abducted late Friday night or early Saturday morning (13 or 14 May) and his mutilated body was discovered last Monday morning (16 May).His family had been asked for a ransom but was not able to pay the sum of more than £61,500 the kidnappers demanded.His eyes were gouged out, his ears were cut off and his faced was skinned. Without the key, group owners are free to recreate their group, from scratch.
