Anthony Weiner (WEE'-nuhr) confessed that he sent a bulging-underpants photo of himself to a young woman. • Rep. Anthony Weiner: 'The Picture Was of Me and I Sent It'(abc).Rep. Anthony Weiner of New York said today he has engaged in "several inappropriate" electronic relationships with six women over three years, and that he publicly lied about a photo of himself sent over Twitter to a college student in Seattle over a week ago. "I take full responsibility for my actions," Weiner said. "The picture was of me, and I sent it."The announcement came as ABC News prepared to release an interview with Meagan Broussard, a 26-year-old single mother from Texas who provided dozens of photos, emails, Facebook messages and cell phone call logs that she says chronicle a sexually-charged electronic relationship with Weiner that rapidly-evolved for more than a month, starting on April 20, 2011. ABC News reached out to Weiner earlier today for comment about his possible ties to Broussard, but he did not respond to requests for an interview. At a press conference later, Weiner confirmed Broussard was one of the women with whom he sexted. Broussard's story had threatened to expose the secret online life of one of the House Democrats' most popular members, and a man many considered a leading candidate for mayor of New York City. It also raised new questions about Weiner's explanation for how a photo of a man's groin area ended up on his public Twitter feed on May 27."I just chuckled," Broussard, a nursing student, said of her reaction to the story that unfolded in the media last week. "It would be one thing if he came out and said, 'Hey, so what?' But now he's saying he got hacked." Broussard said she received the same photo of a man's crotch on May 18 in an email from a man who she then believed was Weiner. Weiner told ABC News last week that the Twitter incident was a "prank" on him, but he neither confirmed nor denied at the time that the photo depicted his body. "I am reluctant to say anything definitively about this," he said of the photo. Broussard, who describes herself as disinterested in politics and previously unaware of Weiner, said that she has never met the congressman in person and doesn't "think he's a bad guy." And, she said, she actively participated in "sexting" -- as she has done frequently with other men online -- with the man she presumed to be Weiner."I have my own life, my own things where I'm from and I just wanted to go ahead with them. I thought I could just be private about it, but there's no reason for me to hide," she said. "I didn't do anything wrong. I don't know him. I'm just putting my story out there before anyone else tries to." Broussard said she confided about her experiences with several close friends, including one with Republican political ties. The man, whom she declined to identify, encouraged her to share her story with Matt Drudge and conservative blogger Andrew Breitbart. Breitbart, who first published details of Broussard's story on Biggovernment.com, shared her identity with ABC News."I don't think he's a bad guy. I think he's got issues just like everybody else," Broussard said. "Everyone's standards are different, but to be elected to Congress and sit there all day on Facebook and chatting?"Read the full story here.

Anthony Weiner (D-NY).Read and see the full story here.

  • 'Iran could produce a nuclear weapon within two months' it is claimed as U.N. atomic watchdog reveals concerns.(DailyMail).Iran is only a matter of months from being able to create a nuclear weapon, according to to NGO RAND. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, 54, has long been pushing his country's nuclear capabilities, and at the current rate of uranium enrichment the first bomb could be eight weeks away.Gregory S. Jones, from RAND, published a report this week explaining the severity of the situation and to confirm the fears expressed by a United Nations watchdog. In spite of a number of set backs, says the researcher, the Iranian regime is back on track with their nuclear programme - and there is very little American, or the U.N. can do about it.Jones based his report on recent findings by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) - their report was published two weeks ago. Manufacturing the bomb will take about two months, Jones believes - as constructing a nuclear warhead is a complicated process. In order to halt the process, Jones comments, forces will have to deploy ground forces - airstrikes will no longer be sufficient. He believes that Tehran, the Iranian capital, has produced 38.3kg of uranium enriched at 19.7 per cent.Amano said the U.N. agency had received 'further information related to possible past or current undisclosed nuclear-related activities that seem to point to the existence of possible military dimensions to Iran's nuclear programme'.The Japanese later told a news conference, without disclosing the source of the information: 'The activities in Iran related to the possible military dimension seem to have been continued until quite recently.'Iran's refusal to halt uranium enrichment, activity which can have both civilian and military uses, has drawn four rounds of U.N. sanctions since 2006.Amano said he had written last month to the head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organisation, Fereydoun Abbasi-Davani, to reiterate 'the agency's concerns about the existence of possible military dimensions'.He had also asked for Iran to 'provide prompt access' to locations, equipment, documentation and officials to help resolve the agency's queries.Abbasi-Davani replied and said U.N. sanctions resolutions against his country were 'illegal and unacceptable'.Hmmmmm......20 Jan and 31 Jan 2011 ;MFS - The Other news:"Ex Mossad : biggest threat in 2011 "Iran obtaining Nuclear weapon".Once Iran has 'the bomb' you will see Turkey joining up with Iran and Pakistan.Read the full story here.

  • House Votes to Defund ACORN Successor Groups.(Amspec).Last week the U.S. House of Representatives voted to block funding to any remaining ACORN affiliates and to "new" ACORN groups that have sprung up over the last year. The ACORN network of 370-plus organizations is not actually dead, as I've written. It is merely restructuring itself. The lead corporate entity, ACORN, filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy, but the state chapters and other branches of the infamous activist network continue to operate. Other affiliates including vote manufacturers Project Vote and housing bubble generator ACORN Housing continue in business. ACORN Housing changed its name to Affordable Housing Centers of America.ACORN insiders acknowledge a reconstituted ACORN will emerge in time to help the reelection campaign of President Obama, who used to work for ACORN.Spearheading the effort to keep taxpayer dollars out of the hands of ACORN was Congressman Steve King (R-Iowa), who figures prominently in my new book, Subversion Inc.: How Obama's ACORN Red Shirts are Still Terrorizing and Ripping Off American Taxpayers."ACORN is a corrupt criminal enterprise that threatens our democratic system of government by systematically committing voter registration fraud," said King, a longtime ACORN critic. "American taxpayers should not be asked to fund an organization that is dedicated to corrupting the sanctity of every American's vote."King's amendment turning off the funding spigot was approved 251 to 168.Only three Republican lawmakers voted to keep ACORN eligible for funding. They were Robert Aderholt (R-Alabama), Mike Simpson (R-Idaho), and Paul Gosar (R-Arizona).The full bill, a Department of Homeland Security funding bill for fiscal 2012, was approved on a vote of 231 to 188. It is unclear when the measure will be taken up by the Senate.Read the full story here.

  • Right aims to pin pump pain on the 'man' in the W.H.(Politico).A key conservative group will launch a new campaign this week aimed at trying to put the blame for high gas prices on the Obama administration. The Americans for Prosperity Foundation, the libertarian-leaning nonprofit chaired by David Koch, will launch rallies and media campaigns in a series of states — beginning with Nebraska — asserting that the administration’s regulation of the energy industries is key to pain at the pump.“We want the public to know there’s a reason these prices are going through the roof: It’s because of the environment produced by the regulatory practices of this administration,” the group’s president, Tim Phillips, told POLITICO.The group doesn’t disclose its donors, though much of the Koch fortune was made in the refining business.Phillips said the fact that gas prices have more than doubled since the day President Barack Obama was inaugurated, when a gallon of gasoline sold, on average, for $1.83, is no accident. In recent weeks, prices at the pump have been nosing toward themost recent spike — $4.12 a gallon — in the summer of 2008, before they plummeted during the global economic slowdown. The Americans for Prosperity campaign, under the rubric Running on Empty, will take a decidedly different view of the administration’s actions and will kick off this week with rallies in Omaha and Grand Rapids, Neb., followed by events in Missouri, Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin. The local stops, complete with a 14-foot inflatable gas pump, will be paired with a website allowing consumers to see the amount of money they’re losing in price increases and to “send the bill” to Obama, as well as more traditional radio and television campaigns.“We want to link the regulatory policies of this administration to the fact that these prices are going up,” said Phillips. And Phillips’s deep-pocketed group is signaling that the right isn’t about to let up.If you look historically at what high gas prices do to presidents, it’s not a pretty picture,” he said.Hmmmm......Drill, baby drill.Read the full story here.

  • Report warns of 'new generation' Islamic militants radicalised in back streets.(Telegraph). A new generation of British Islamic militants is being radicalised in back streets, counter-terrorism experts have warned. A new report shows that the success of anti-radicalisation measures in many of Britain's mosques has pushed militants underground, making them harder to detect by both community leaders and police.Feeding the process are jailed militants, such as Abu Hamza, who is still exerting an influence from his prison cell on impressionable Muslim youngsters susceptible to his violently anti-Western rhetoric.Details of the report emerged ahead of imminent release of a key government review of its counter-terrorism strategy, expected this month. The review of the "Prevent" strand of the strategy – which aims to stop the radicalisation young British Muslims – is expected to make good David Cameron's promise to expel foreign "preachers of hate", such as Hamza, from the UK.It is also set to bring in a new link between non-violent extremist groups and violent ones – building on the Prime Minister's speech in Munich earlier this year in which he vowed a tougher line and hit out at the "state policy of multi culturalism".Hmmmm......The religion of peace.Read the full story here.

  • "CHANGE" - Unemployment worse than Great Depression unemployed have, on average, remained unemployed longer than in the 1930s.(CBS News) — There is an unfortunate adage for the unemployed: The longer folks are out of a job, the longer it takes them to find a new one.CBS News correspondent Ben Tracy reports that the chronically unemployed face the hardest road back to recovery, and that while the jobs picture may be improving statistically on a national level, it is not for them.…About 6.2 million Americans, 45.1 percent of all unemployed workers in this country, have been jobless for more than six months – a higher percentage than during the Great Depression. The bigger the gap on someone’s resume, the more questions employers have.“(Employers) think: ‘Oh, well, there must be something really wrong with them because they haven’t gotten a job in 6 months, a year, 2 years.’ But that’s not necessarily the case,” said Marjorie Gardner-Cruse with the Hollywood Worksource Center. The problem of course is the economy, but some industries, especially certain manufacturing jobs, are not ever expected to come back. Experts say unemployed workers need to be prepared to change careers.Read the full story here.

  • Hmmmm......"The Golden Eagle has been terminated?"The green killer: Scores of protected golden eagles dying after colliding with wind turbines.(DailyMail). California's attempts to switch to green energy have inadvertently put the survival of the state’s golden eagles at risk.Scores of the protected birds have been dying each year after colliding with the blades of about 5,000 wind turbines. Now the drive for renewable power sources, such as wind and the sun, being promoted by President Obama and state Governor Jerry Brown has raised fears that the number of newborn golden eagles may not be able to keep pace with the number of turbine fatalities. The death count along the ridgelines of the Bay Area’s Altamount Pass Wind Resource Area has averaged 67 a year for three decades. The 200ft high turbines, which have been operating since the 1980s, lie in the heart of the grassy canyons that are home to one of the highest densities of nesting golden eagles in the US.‘It would take 167 pairs of local nesting golden eagles to produce enough young to compensate for their mortality rate related to wind energy production,’ field biologist Doug Bell, manager of East Bay Regional Park District's wildlife programme, told the Los Angeles Times. ‘We only have 60 pairs,’ he added.Nationwide, about 440,000 birds are said to be accidentally killed at wind farms each year, as well as thousands more bats. With the government pushing for more wind energy farms, that statistic is likely to rise.Another recovering species, the California Condor, is also said to be at risk from the giant blades.‘We taxpayers have spent millions of dollars saving the California condor from extinction,’ Gary George, spokesman for Audubon California, told the Times.‘How's the public going to feel about wind energy if a condor hits the turbines?’Newer carbines are said to be less harmful to birds and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has asked power bosses to turn off the wind machines during times of heavy bird migration. But the moves have done little to protect the golden eagles, which weigh about 14 pounds and stand up to 49 inches tall.Their flight behaviour makes it difficult for them to navigate through masses of wind turbine towers, especially when they are easily distracted by prey on the ground.‘The eagles usually die of blunt-force trauma injuries,’ said Mr Bell.‘Once, I discovered a wounded golden eagle hobbling through tall grass, about a quarter mile from the turbine blades that had clipped its flight feathers.’‘A wind farm owner once told me that if there were no witnesses, it would be impossible to prove a bird had been killed by a wind turbine blade. My response was this: If you see a golden eagle sliced in half in a wind farm, what other explanation is there?’ he added.Hmmmm....A lizzard could stop drilling, so why couldn't an Golden eagle stop windfarms?Read the full story here.

  • Police Reluctant to Prosecute Attack on Pakistan Church.(CompassDirect).LAHORE, Pakistan, June 1  — Armed Muslims disrupted the worship service of a church outside Lahore on Sunday (May 29), cursing the congregation, smashing a glass altar and desecrating Bibles and a cross, Christian leaders said. Police initially tried to protect the leader of the Muslim intruders, the nephew of a former Member of the Punjab Assembly (MPA), and instead of making arrests eventually pressured Christians to accept an apology from the accused, they said. Pastor Ashraf Masih of Numseoul Presbyterian Church in Lakhoki Kahna village told Compass that Muhammad Shoaib, nephew of former MPA Mansha Sindhu, entered the church building accompanied by four men armed with rifles and pistols and started cursing the congregation for “disturbing the peace of the area by worshipping on loudspeakers,” though the congregation was using loudspeakers only inside the church building. Pastor Masih said the Muslims manhandled members of the congregation when they tried to stop the intruders. “They were just out of control,” Masih said. “Shoaib and his men broke the glass altar of the church, threw copies of the Bible towards the wall and desecrated the cross.” He added that this was not the first time Shoaib has harassed village Christians. Four months ago, Shoaib manhandled 70-year-old church elder Bohru Masih, telling Bohru to stop church services because he did not want to hear the Christians singing hymns, Pastor Masih said. “The loudspeakers on mosques are used all day long for prayers and sermons,” Pastor Masih said. “I fail to understand why this man has turned against us the last few months.” He said that after the Muslims left the church, he called police, who soon arrived. The Christians showed officers the damages and expressed their anger at the desecration of the Bible and cross. They led police to Shoaib’s house and returned to the church site, where journalists and representatives of various Christian support organizations had arrived. “I was later told by a local Christian that the area’s police in-charge, Inspector Arshad Khan, was appointed there by Sindhu and he would try his best to save the former MPA’s nephew,” Pastor Masih said. His fears that authorities would protect the gang leader bore out when police later informed Christians that they had not found Shoaib at his home. “This was a complete lie, because Shoaib was at his home all this time, and someone told us that he had prepared lunch for Inspector Khan and the other policemen,” Pastor Masih said. He and the other Christians decided to go to the police station to register their complaint with area Superintendent of Police Malik Awais. “On reaching the police station, we found the officials present there reluctant to register a First Information Report against Sindhu’s nephew,” he said. “They also tried to pressure us by saying that we were making false allegations against the Muslims.”Napolean Qayyum, central leader of the Pakistan People’s Party Minorities Wing, said Christians’ political weakness was one of the main reasons for their inability to protest desecration of their church building. “The Christians there were faced with a very influential Muslim politician,” Qayyum said. “Had there been a strong Christian leadership in Pakistan, such incidents would not have happened this frequently.” He added that none of the Christian representatives at the police station had the courage to press the case further when the former legislator and his band of gunmen arrived. A South Korean ministry team established the church in the village in 2004.Read the full story here.

  • Israeli stealth ships in raids on Iran?(Godlikeproductions).A shipping company accused of breaking sanctions was really ferrying commandos for operations inside Iran.Uzi Mahnaimi, Tel Aviv Published: 5 June 2011.Cargo vessels owned by Israel’s richest man, who died on Friday, had been used to ferry elite Israeli forces for operations inside Iran, according to defence sources. The death in Tel Aviv of Sammy Ofer, 89, came just days after the United States accused his company of breaching sanctions by selling an oil tanker to Iran. It has mystified Israelis why a company with close links to the government was allegedly breaching sanctions. Military experts suggested the cargo ships had carried Black Hawk helicopters, hidden in modified containers, for use by commando teams in reconnaissance missions against Iran’s secret nuclear sites. Israel is conducting a massive intelligence operation to monitor Iran’s nuclear weapons programme. By using giant freighters with helicopters and men hidden in containers on their decks, the Israeli forces would possess a logistical platform similar to a helicopter assault warship and one that could approach the Iranian coast without suspicion. Defence sources said some ships from the group controlled by Ofer and his brother Yuli were known to have given Israeli forces access to Iranian waters. At least 13 ships owned by the Ofer Brothers Group have docked in Iran over the past decade, using the port of Bandar Abbas on the southern coast and the Kharg Island oil terminal in the Gulf, according to Equasis, a shipping information database. The Raffles Park, a ship sold to Iran by the Singapore-based Tanker Pacific, had docked off the Iranian shore four times between September 2002 and January 2010, according to Equasis records. The US State Department said Tanker Pacific was owned by the Ofer Group but the company has said this is “a mistake” and denied any wrongdoing. Israel has said the matter is one between the company and the State Department and it will not back Ofer’s efforts to be removed from the American blacklist of companies found trading with Iran.Last week Richard Silverstein, an American blogger who specialises in breaking Israeli defence secrets, claimed Mossad, Israel’s national intelligence agency, used Ofer Group cargo ships to smuggle its agents into Iran. Last year Mossad agents allegedly assassinated Mahmoud al-Mabhuh, a senior Hamas militant, in his Dubai hotel room. It is now believed some of the agents left Dubai hidden in one of Ofer’s ships. Zodiac Maritime Agencies, one of the group’s main shipping businesses, is based in London and many of its 150 vessels, which operate under charter to leading container lines, are registered in Britain. Israeli reports suggested the Ofer Group’s contacts with Iran may have been authorised, but this was denied by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu. “There was no permission for any contact or delivery to Iran. We have clear policies on this matter,” he said last week. However, in a statement after Ofer’s death, Netanyahu praised him as a “Zionist through and through”.Read the full story here.
