Egypt’s Coptic Christian groups call for Clinton protests, "MB and the US are “making deals and agreements in secret meetings."(BM).CAIRO: Egypt’s Maspero Coptic Youth Union activist group called for mass demonstrations on Saturday to protest the visit of American Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to Egypt. They refused her visit to the country and accused the US of backing the Muslim Brotherhood and adding pressure to Egypt’s military rulers to have him win. They called for protests outside the American Embassy in Cairo for 5 PM Saturday. “We are taking a stand for the people who rose [up] for freedom and so all American interference attempts are refused,” said the statement released on Thursday. The group said the Muslim Brotherhood and the US are “making deals and agreements in secret meetings.” The group accused the US of taking the Muslim group’s side over those of Egypt’s “Together we will expose the American-Muslim Brotherhood plan to buy and sell Egypt between them. Egypt is not the property of the Brotherhood nor it is a playing field for the Americans,” the statement added. Clinton arrived in Egypt late Saturday afternoon and is scheduled to meet with Egypt’s President Mohamed Morsi, a former member of the Muslim Brotherhood, how resigned from the group following his victory as a bridge to other groups across the country.
