Russian Fifth-generation warplane's state testing to begin in autumn 2013 - Air Force commander.(RBTH).
The state testing of the advanced frontline aircraft will begin at the end of 2013, Air Force Commander Viktor Bondarev told journalists.
"We are to receive the plane in the third quarter of 2013 and we will begin test flights in the fourth quarter," Bondarev said.
The fifth-generation fighter jet is undergoing testing as part of the armed forces' modernization program.
In the estimate of Sukhoi company experts, the Russian fifth-generation fighter jet's declared characteristics have been fully proven.
The fighter jet, also known as PAK FA, has a host of unique features compared to fighter jets of previous generations, combining the capabilities of an attack aircraft and a fighter jet. The plane is made of composite materials, based on innovative know-how, and has advanced aerodynamics and stealth capabilities. This makes air and land target engagement more effective at any time of the day, and in mild and severe weather conditions
