Prevent Spread of Ebola… MP ORGANISE QURAN READING. Excerpt:
In another strategic approach to contain the spread of deadly Ebola virus in their community and the country as a whole, Member of Parliament Hon. Binneh Bangura, of Constituency 055, Port Loko District, on Friday 12th September 2014, gathered Imams to read the holy Quran in the Constituency for Allah's divine intervention to stop the spread of Ebola virus in the country.
The reading of the Holy Quran which was held at Kitonki central Mosque of Mayaya Section in Kaffu Bullom Chiefdom, brought together Imams of high standing in the Constituency.
Alhaji Ahmda Sesay thanked colleagues brothers and sisters in Islam for honouring the invitation of their MP to sit and recite the Holy Quran aimed at seeking Allah's blessing that would prevent the spread of this disease that is ravaging lives of citizens in the country.
He said Muslims, despite what government has done to deter the spread of the disease, it is also important for religious leaders to engage in fervent and sincere prayers for God's mercy.
Alhaji Sesay continued by warning all to desist from the habit of denial and accept that Ebola is real and has ravaged lives and collapsed the country's economy as many investors have left the country for fear of contacting this virus that has no cure except the mercy of Allah, the reason for our gathering to offer prayers to the Almighty.
He concluded by informing the people of the Constituency to cooperate with their MP who has always been with them in every situation, Ebola epidemic being not an exception.
Mayaya Section Chief, Pa. Alimamy Foday Kamara lauded his people for coming out in their numbers to participate in the reading of the Quran and called on them to remain thankful to God as there is no suspected case in the Constituency yet and reminded them to believe that Ebola is real as it has affected all sectors in the country. Hmmm....i'll put my trust in an 'experimental' vaccine.
