Senior Iranian nuclear negotiator Abbas Araqchi said one of the contingencies needed for the country to make a deal with the group P5+1 (the US, UK, France, Russia, China, and Germany) is the removal of PMD (possible military dimensions) files from the case.

The entire anti-Iranian sanctions are based on the PMD allegations and it must be clarified that the PMD statements are all wrong, he said.

These cases must be settled, they have been falsely forged against the Iranian nation and fed to the international mind, Araqchi stressed, IRIB news agency reported June 17.

Araqchi, who serves as Iran 's deputy foreign minister, also pointed to Western demands for having access to Iran 's military sites and said the Islamic Republic will not grant the IAEA access to those sites.

“The two sides are trying to find ways so that the IAEA could arrive at suitable answers to the past questions, but so far no answer has been found and we are still negotiating,” he stated.

The eighth round of talks on Iran 's nuclear program started June 17 with Araqchi and Majid Takht Ravanchi lead the Iranian delegation and Helga Schmid, deputy chief of the EU foreign policy, represents the six powers.


The talks are set to conclude in a final agreement by the self-imposed deadline of June 30. Hmmm.....Nothing else , perhaps sign the 'surrender' on the deck of the USS Missouri?
