George Zimmerman was released on $150,000 bail late Sunday night in what the Associated Press called a “low-key event.” Threats of death from the Twitter lynch mob are anything but low-key.

George Zimmerman to Be Charged in Trayvon Martin's Death.(ABC).A Florida special prosecutor has decided to charge neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman in the shooting death of unarmed teen Trayvon Martin, sources told ABC News. The decision by Florida special prosecutor Angela Corey is expected to be announced at a 6 p.m. news conference in Jacksonville, Fla. The prosecutor's ruling is certain to provoke controversy in Sanford, Fla., where shooting took place and across the country. Zimmerman, 28, a white Hispanic neighborhood watch captain, shot and killed Martin, who was 17 and black, on Feb. 26 after following the teenager for several minutes. The special prosecutor's ruling came one day after Zimmerman's legal team quit because they had lost contact with him, and suggested that the pressure of the case had "pushed him over the edge." His lawyers said that Zimmerman was no longer in Florida and ABC News has learned that prosecutors do not know his exact location. Earlier this week, Sanford Mayor Jeff Triplett said his city has become a "kindling box" due to the high emotions surrounding the case, and that he would "plan for the worst and hope for the best."The city of Sanford has been getting increasingly tense as the decision neared. Six shots were fired into an empty police cruiser earlier this week in the neighborhood where Martin was killed. The New Black Panther Party offered a $10,000 bounty for Zimmerman and his lawyers said Zimmerman had received death threats. The New Socialist Movement, a white supremacy group, said they were patrol Sanford to protect whites and racists comments about the shooting have sprung up on social media sites.In a written statement to police on the night of the shooting, Zimmerman said that he'd called 911 to report a suspicious man and that as he returned to his car, Martin attacked him. Zimmerman said that Martin punched him in the nose and knocked him down, slammed his head on the ground and tried to take his gun. The police report noted that Zimmerman was bleeding from the back of the head and nose. His lawyer said later that Zimmerman suffered a broken nose. After Zimmerman received medical attention, it was decided that he was in good enough condition to travel in a police cruiser to the Sanford police station for questioning. He was not arrested. Zimmerman Family Challenges Holder To do his job and Arrest New Black Panthers.(DailyCaller).In a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder on Monday, obtained exclusively by The Daily Caller, a family member of George Zimmerman asked the nation’s top law enforcement officer why he has chosen to not arrest members of the New Black Panther Party for their rhetoric — some of which may fit the federal government’s definition of a hate crime — throughout the Trayvon Martin case. The family member believes the reason Holder hasn’t made those arrests is because he, like the members of the New Black Panther Party, is black. “I am writing you to ask you why, when the law of the land is crystal clear, is your office not arresting the New Black Panthers for hate crimes?” the family member wrote to Holder. “The Zimmerman family is in hiding because of the threats that have been made against us, yet the DOJ has maintained an eerie silence on this matter. These threats are very public. If you haven’t been paying attention just do a Google search and you will find plenty. Since when can a group of people in the United States put a bounty on someone’s head, circulate Wanted posters publicly, and still be walking the streets?” The New Black Panthers have issued ultimatums to the Sanford authorities, saying they want Zimmerman arrested “dead or alive.” They have placed a bounty on Zimmerman’s head, and have called for the building of an army of vigilantes to track him down and effect a citizen’s arrest.Noting President Obama’s White House event last week celebrating the 1960 novel “To Kill a Mockingbird,” Zimmerman’s family member drew a novel comparison to the American literary classic. “Strangely enough this case has a lot of parallels to those of Harper Lee’s ‘To Kill a Mockingbird,’” the letter to Attorney General Holder read. “George Zimmerman has been treated much like Tom Robinson was, chastised for not being the right (or wrong) color and found guilty based on race factors. “You have the opportunity to act as Atticus [Finch] and do the right thing. "My People" justice expected from A.G. Holder?Trayvon Martin's Parents Want Investigation Into Prosecutor.(NBCMiami).The parents of Trayvon Martin want the U.S. Justice Department to review the Seminole County prosecutor's investigating into their son's death, the family's lawyer said. Attorney Benjamin Crump said parents Tracy Martin and Sybrina Fulton will send a formal request to the Justice Department Monday to examine State Attorney Norm Wolfinger's interactions with police the night of Martin's shooting, according to CNN.
The Justice Department launched an investigation into the Feb. 26 shooting on March 19, but the family wants them to look into possible interference by Wolfinger's office with the Sanford Police investigation. Last week, it was revealed that the Sanford Police Department requested an arrest warrant from the Seminole County State Attorney's Office in the shooting, but the state attorney's office held off until the case could be further reviewed. There's no indication the prosecutor went to the scene of the shooting, but in a police report of the incident, there's an indication that Sanford Police may have felt a manslaughter charge was warranted in the case.
Florida Gov. Rick Scott has appointed a special prosecutor to oversee the investigation into Martin's death. The FBI is also investigating the shooting. The Miami Gardens teen was visiting with his father at his father's girlfriend's home in the gated community and had gone to buy a bag of Skittles and iced tea at a nearby convenience store and was walking back when the shooting happened. Though Martin was unarmed, Zimmerman told police the shooting was self-defense, and no charges have been filed in the case.
Sanford Police Chief Bill Lee Jr., who has temporarily stepped down pending the investigation into the shooting, had said there was no probable cause to arrest Zimmerman, citing the state's "Stand Your Ground" law. Zimmerman told police he had been following Martin but was walking back to his car when the teen approached him from behind, punched him in the face, got on top of him while he was on the ground and started bashing his head into the sidewalk. Police said Zimmerman had a bloody nose, gash on the back of his head and grass stains on the back of his shirt. Zimmerman's family and attorney say the 28-year-old also had his nose broken by Martin. Zimmerman's brother said the neighborhood watch volunteer was in a fight for his life the night of the shooting, and insists the cries for help heard on a 911 call from the scene are his brother's.Read the full story here.

Black friend former television news reporter defends shooter of Florida teen.(AlArabiya).George Zimmerman cried for days in remorse after shooting dead a black Florida teenager, a family friend of Zimmerman said on Sunday, offering a sympathetic portrayal of the man at the focal point of a national uproar.
Zimmerman, 28, a white Hispanic, shot Trayvon Martin, 17, in what he said was self-defense during an altercation in the gated community Zimmerman was watching on Feb. 26 in Sanford, Florida. After barely going noticed for weeks, the case has since galvanized the country and renewed a national discussion about race.
“He couldn’t stop crying. He’s a caring human being,” Joe Oliver, 53, a former television news reporter and anchor in Orlando who has known Zimmerman for several years, told Reuters in a telephone interview.“I mean, he took a man’s life and he has no idea what to do about it. He’s extremely remorseful about it,” Oliver said, relating stories told to him by Zimmerman’s mother-in-law, a close friend of Oliver’s wife.
Oliver’s account counters the withering criticism Zimmerman has sustained from demonstrators across the country who have demanded his arrest and accused him of racial bias in targeting Martin. Celebrities have taken up the cause of justice for Trayvon, and President Barack Obama said “all of us have to do some soul-searching” as a result of the tragedy.“I’m a black male and all that I know is that George has never given me any reason whatsoever to believe he has anything against people of color,” Oliver said.
Sanford police did not arrest Zimmerman, saying the evidence could not disprove his account of self-defense, though the case is under review by a state special prosecutor and the U.S. Justice Department.
Zimmerman dropped out of public view shortly after the shooting and his whereabouts were unknown. The New Black Panther Party, an African American organization taking its name from the radical group of the 1960s, has placed a $10,000 bounty on Zimmerman.
“All these people who are threatening George, what makes them any better than the person they think he is?” Oliver said. “You’ve got all these people wanting to lynch the man and they don’t know the whole story. There are huge gaps that are being filled in and interpreted without evidence.”
Oliver tried to reach Zimmerman after the shooting but he had not spoken with him until Saturday in a conversation arranged by Zimmerman’s lawyer.
As a black man, he said he understands how minorities are often unfairly treated, but he believed Zimmerman was simply doing his job by growing suspicious over an unfamiliar person walking through a neighborhood that had suffered some break-ins. Martin lived in Miami but was with his father on a visit to his father’s fiancee’s home inside the gated community.
“I understand how they’re able to leap to the conclusion. You have a dead teenager. This guy is white so it must be a hate crime. There’s going to be evidence to come out that basically will justify George’s concern,” Oliver said.
“He (Zimmerman) confirmed for me that he was not the aggressor. But I did not go into details as to how it got to that aggressive point,” Oliver said.
At one point Oliver became choked up with emotion talking about his friend but said he was coming forward freely even though it may expose him to reprisals.“I just have to do what’s right, not just for my friend but for everyone involved,” Oliver said. “His mother in law lost her job for this. He’s in hiding. ORLANDO - An attorney representing George Zimmerman is speaking out, saying his client is not a racist, and that he acted in self-defense the night Trayvon Martin was shot and killed.
Craig Sonner spoke with FOX 35 in Orlando. He said he did not know George Zimmerman's location. He said due to death threats, he has been advising Zimmerman to avoid going out in public.
He referred to a flier saying Zimmerman was "Wanted dead or alive."
"I have advised him to stay out the public eye as much as he can," Sonner said.
Sonner also gave more details about injuries Zimmerman sustained that night.
"He did suffer a broken nose, and he has an injury to the back of his head which should have required stitches. I think he was delayed in getting to the doctor and having stitches put in. But he did sustain injuries to his head," Sonner said.
Sonner said portrayals of his client as a racist are not accurate. As an example, he cited Zimmerman's participation in fundraisers for an African-American church in the Orlando area.It looks like there is shocking new evidence to come out in the Trayvon Martin case and it involves a witness who claims to have seen the entire episode. He was interviewed by the Fox affiliate in Tampa and appears to paint a picture of what happened that is completely different from the narrative being pushed by the typical race-baiters. The fact remains that Martin was unarmed but if the testimony from this witness is accurate, it points to Martin actually attacking Zimmerman.
The meme being pushed by the race-baiters is that Zimmerman was going after Martin while talking to a 911 operator, who told him not to continue. The implication - if you listen to the race baiters - is that Zimmerman kept pursuing Martin while also being the only one of the two with a gun. This witness, who would not go on camera, seems to indicate that Zimmerman listened to the 911 operator and turned back before Martin attacked him.Read the full story here.

Now the New Black Panther Party is circulating “Wanted Dead or Alive” posters of George Zimmerman. All Voices reported:

Yesterday afternoon at a press conference, the New Black Panther Party for Self-Defense circulated a “wanted dead or alive” poster for George Zimmerman for shooting to death a Florida teenager four weeks ago.
Minister Mikhail Muhummud led the press conference, calling for the firing of Sanford Police Chief Bill Lee, the arrest of George Zimmerman and some involvement from President Obama. Muhummud stated he is the southern regional director for the New Black Panther Party for Self-Defense located in Jacksonville, Florida. While Minister Muhummud fired off a list of demands and expressed outrage over the handling of the shooting and subsequent investigation; a member of the group passed flyers to about 100 people who showed up for the press conference. Muhummud told the group he was not concerned with rumors of death threats to George Zimmerman, “He should be afraid for his life.”
Zimmerman claimed the shooting was in self-defense. Local investigators found no evidence to prove otherwise and, based on those findings, prosecutors declined to press charges.
The Family of the victim, understandably, is outraged. They received an outpouring of support from the community. But what's most disturbing is, in that support, there have been calls to execute the accused killer. No trial, no jury. Guilty without representation.
And the Obama Administration is silent. Well, not completely silent. President Obama took a moment to further incite emotions in this case by declaring the victim, Trayvon Martin, looked just like his own son would look if he had one.
Did you mean black, Mr. President Barrack "The Uniter" Obama? Instead of representing Americans as a whole, instead of defending the Constitution, instead of ensuring Zimmerman's rights are protected, the President of the United States has taken sides, based only on skin color.
For the record, I think the case needs to be further investigated. As a victim of a horrible circumstance, Martin deserves that much. But I also think Zimmerman, as a citizen of the United States, deserves a fair, impartial hearing. If evidence warrants, he should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. But lacking the evidence, Zimmerman should be considered innocent until proven otherwise.
It is frightening that, in America and in this day, some groups can so publicly call for the lynching of a citizen who has not been afforded his Constitutional rights, and the President does nothing.
