IRGC Presents Its New 'Suicide Drone' ....with the speed of a WWI Fighter plane.

IRGC Presents Its New 'Suicide Drone' ....with the speed of a WWI Fighter plane. (Memri).

On October 26, 2016, the Iranian news agency Tasnim reported that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy had revealed its "first suicide drone." The IRGC-affiliated news agency stated that while the drone cannot carry missiles, it can be packed with explosives for suicide-type missions, that it is equipped with advanced cameras that can also be used at night, and that its range is 1,000 kilometers and its top velocity is 250 kilometers per hour. According to Tasnim, this is the second Iranian-made vessel that can be used for suicide missions; the first was an IRGC navy speedboat.

One of its important attributes is its ability to fly as low as half a meter above the surface of the water, or as high as 3,000 feet.

"This drone cannot carry missiles, but with regard to the military aspect, it can carry a large quantity of explosives and operate in a suicide capacity – meaning that it can approach a target, flying close to the surface of the water at high velocity, and crash into the vessel or into the land-based command center.

"In addition to the 'Ya Mahdi' speedboats, which are capable of suicide missions, this is the second IRGC navy's product with suicide capabilities."

Hmmm.....World War One fighter & Bomber Speed.

New Form of Terror from the sky – Weaponized Toy Drones – Has No Counter Measures.

New Form of Terror from the sky – Toy Drones – Has No Counter Measures. (Debka).

This report inaugurates DEBKAfile’s new column which, under the heading The Cyber Dimension, will appear regularly and keep our readers abreast of novel events in this fast-developing field.

The least appreciated cyber threat today comes from the potential of toy drones reaching terrorist hands. Unidentified UAVs over the White House and Elysée triggered the first alarm.

As yet, no counter-measures have been developed capable of diverting or aborting a small drone with a 400-gram explosive payload, after its flight plan, fatal mission and target have been installed in its program.

It is hard to explain how the developers of this highly sophisticated tool neglected to develop parallel means of defense and interception against drones when turned to hostile use.

The broad communities of intelligence and security agencies in the US and worldwide, including Israel, appear to have missed out on the most important step, which is to list drones under dual headings: threat as well as a novel strategic tool.

This threat is easily available commercially. Costing between $1,500 and 5,000, depending on the model, anyone can buy a “toy” drone, with a whole range of capabilities, including one that can carry a payload of more than one kilo, has a flight range of up to one kilometer and is able to stay aloft for half an hour.

In the hands of a terrorist, the “toy” drone can take the place of a suicide bomber. Loaded with 400 grams of explosives, an HD video camera and a miniature transmitter, it can broadcast live up until it blows up its pre-assigned target.

To develop counter-measures for a suicide-drone, coordination is necessary among the various arms of government - the army, navy, security and intelligence agencies, the customs department – to exercise a ban on their import, law enforcement agencies, the police and the civilian aviation authority. They would need to push together for new laws and regulations to restrict and oversee the production, import and use of unmanned drones with dangerous capabilities.

The administration will furthermore need to invest whatever sums are necessary for developing the technology to counter a weapon which has almost unlimited potential for wreaking death and destruction of unimaginable proportions, if allowed to get out of control.

In Washington and Paris, law enforcement and security agencies were helpless to intercept the buzzing intruders and found their operators highly elusive. Until this danger is seriously addressed, no single remedy exists for stopping destructive drones. Hmmmm.......'Houston we've got a problem'.....lets hope Homeland security removes those how to build vids .....NOW! Read the full story here.

Remember that Iranian USS Nimitz 'movie prop'? - Iran to test suicide drones in military drill.

Remember that Iranian USS Nimitz 'movie prop'? - Iran to test suicide drones in military drill.(Taz).
Commander of the Iranian Army's Ground Forces Brigadier General Ahmad-Reza Pourdastan said on May 23 that the country will test its suicide drones in a military drone later this year.
"Iran will hold a special drone drill this year, and various kinds of home-made drones will be tested," Pourdastan said, Iran's Mehr News Agency reported.

Pourdastan on May 22 highlighted the full preparedness of Iran's Armed Forces, warning that the Islamic Republic will give a crushing response to any military aggression.

"The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran will never be caught off-guard, and should the enemy want to act on the immature fantasy of aggression, it will face a crushing and lethal response by the Armed forces," Pourdastan said.

"Today, we are facing new threats that are different from [those in] the past in terms of type, shape and size," the Iranian commander said.

Pourdastan said that Iranian intelligence experts are monitoring the movements of the enemy "at the borders, across the region and beyond the region."

Iranian media outlets claim in recent years Iran has secured great accomplishments in its defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in producing essential military equipment and systems.

The Islamic Republic has repeatedly said its military might poses no threat to other countries, reiterating that its defense doctrine is based on deterrence.Hmmm.....expect an Iranian version of  'Pearl Harbor' in the strait of Hormuz.

Iran equipped army units with a new type of advanced suicide drone.

Iran equipped army units with a new type of advanced suicide drone.(Taz).

A senior Iranian Army commander announced that the country has equipped army units with a new type of advanced suicide drone which is capable of destroying both air and ground targets, Tasnim news agency reported.
"These drones have the capability to conduct suicide attacks and can hit specified targets, either air or ground targets, such as tanks and installations. It acts like a mobile bomb and hits targets," Commander of the Iranian Army Ground Force Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan said.

The Iranian commander also noted that the drones are capable of taking online pictures and videos and conducting other missions, including aerial reconnaissance.

Pourdastan then added that Army Ground Force will test and use the new drones during upcoming military wargames.

On Sunday, Pourdastan had announced that Iranian Army Ground Force will stage massive wargames, dubbed as "Qamar-e bani-Hashem", in the coming months in which different units of the force, especially its airborne division will take part.

He had also stated that the forthcoming military exercises will demonstrate the potentials and capabilities of the armored units of the ground force and it can also "tell us how such units must be deployed in an asymmetrical situation.""Qamar-e bani-Hashem wargames will be staged in a very vast and extensive region in 3 operational zones," Pourdastan said at the time.

Over the past few years, Iran has held several military drills to enhance the defense capabilities of its armed forces and to test modern military tactics and equipment.
