It's Official .....the 'Antisemite inmates' are about to take over the UNESCO 'Asylum'.

Only candidate for chair of UNESCO's Executive Board is rep of the Islamic Republic of Iran. (ToI).

In November, the Israel-bashing UN cultural agency will choose a new director-general and fill two other key positions; top candidates hail from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Iran.

Israel’s relationship with UNESCO is complicated, to say the least. But later this year, the organization will elect a new leadership, and officials in Jerusalem are fretting over a possible “Islamic troika” in three key jobs who would seek to further advance the UN cultural organization’s anti-Israel agenda.

Of the nine people vying to succeed Irina Bokova as director-general of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, four hail from Arab states and one of them — a Qatar minister — is considered a frontrunner.

The leading contenders for the post of chairman of UNESCO’s General Conference hail from Saudi Arabia and Morocco, according to Israel’s ambassador to the organization, Carmel Shama-Hacohen.

And the sole candidate to head the UNESCO Executive Board is from Iran.

“Under certain circumstances an Islamic troika could be created, which would be liable to push the organization to new depths of anti-Israel politicization,” warned Shama-Hacohen.

At the conclusion of the 39th session of UNESCO’s General Conference in November, delegates from all 195 member states — including the State of Palestine, which joined in 2011 — will vote for a new director-general. The leading candidates for the job are China’s Qian Tang, UNESCO’s assistant director-general for education; French Culture Minister Audrey Azoulay, who is Jewish; and Qatari Culture Minister Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al-Kawari.

Al-Kawari’s nomination has drawn the ire of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, which two years ago complained about anti-Semitic material featured prominently at a book fair held under the auspices of the Qatari education ministry.

Also in November, UNESCO will elect new chairs for its General Conference and its Executive Board.
The only candidate for the chair of the Executive Board is Ahmad Jalali, who is currently Iran’s ambassador to UNESCO.
A liberal-minded scholar, Jalali is widely respected within the organization. But since he hails from a theocratic regime sworn to Israel’s destruction, Israeli diplomats are uneasy about him assuming the position. Read the full story here.

Video - NCRI-US Press Conference on Iran Covert Nuclear Weaponization violating JCPOA

On Friday, 21 April 2017, the National Council of Resistance of Iran, U.S. Representative Office held a press conference at the Willard InterContinental Hotel in Washington, DC exposing yet another nuclear site of Iran.

NCRI-US provided detailed information about the continuation of work by the organization responsible for nuclear weaponization, known as SPND, highlighting once again that Iran continues to adamantly pursue a nuclear weapon.

At the press conference, NCRIUS Deputy Director, Alireza Jafarzadeh, using a power point presentation, showed maps, graphs, and charts of the covert organization as well as names of individuals involved in the weaponization program.

At the new site, named “Research Academy,” the Iranian regime has used a military facility in Parchin to hide its activities and continue work on weaponization.

Soona Samsami, the U.S. Representative of the NCRI, called on the IAEA to immediately inspect the nuclear sites, and called on the international community to halt Iran’s enrichment program and called for dismantling all covert sites of Iran involved in nuclear weapons research and development.

Video - Iranian Def Minister: We Need to Surprise the Enemy, America, and Hit It Where It Hurts the Most

Video - Iranian Def Minister: We Need to Surprise the Enemy, America, and Hit It Where It Hurts the Most. Memri. Iranian Defense Minister Hossein Dehghan recently said that the main threat to Iran was from America and its ally, Israel, and that in order to gain the upper hand in battle Iran should operate in a situation of asymmetric warfare, and have sufficient power to surprise the enemy in order to "hit it where it hurts the most." He was speaking on IRINN TV on February 7.

Hossein Dehghan: Today, the main threat is from the arrogant regime, America, along with the Zionists and so on. When we consider how to fight such a threat, we need to find factors that will give us the upper hand in battle. There will be a situation of asymmetric warfare. We have several plans to develop [military] products and technology, to improve existing products, and to develop our industrial infrastructures. We must operate in such a way that strategically, we will not be surprised on the day [of battle], for example, by finding ourselves in a scenario that we did not think of, or by suffering damage that we did not anticipate. In addition, we need to have sufficient power to surprise the enemy. In other words, we need to hit the enemy where it hurts the most.

IRGC Presents Its New 'Suicide Drone' ....with the speed of a WWI Fighter plane.

IRGC Presents Its New 'Suicide Drone' ....with the speed of a WWI Fighter plane. (Memri).

On October 26, 2016, the Iranian news agency Tasnim reported that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy had revealed its "first suicide drone." The IRGC-affiliated news agency stated that while the drone cannot carry missiles, it can be packed with explosives for suicide-type missions, that it is equipped with advanced cameras that can also be used at night, and that its range is 1,000 kilometers and its top velocity is 250 kilometers per hour. According to Tasnim, this is the second Iranian-made vessel that can be used for suicide missions; the first was an IRGC navy speedboat.

One of its important attributes is its ability to fly as low as half a meter above the surface of the water, or as high as 3,000 feet.

"This drone cannot carry missiles, but with regard to the military aspect, it can carry a large quantity of explosives and operate in a suicide capacity – meaning that it can approach a target, flying close to the surface of the water at high velocity, and crash into the vessel or into the land-based command center.

"In addition to the 'Ya Mahdi' speedboats, which are capable of suicide missions, this is the second IRGC navy's product with suicide capabilities."

Hmmm.....World War One fighter & Bomber Speed.

Iran’s Surplus Heavy Water Sent to Iran's 'Buddy' Oman: AEOI.

Iran’s Surplus Heavy Water Sent to Oman: AEOI. (IFP).

“In view of the progress of talks with several foreign firms and countries to purchase heavy water, some quantities of Iran’s surplus production has been transferred to Oman,” said AEOI spokesman Behrouz Kamalvandi on Sunday.

He added that further amounts of surplus heavy water will be sent to Oman in the future.

Earlier in the month, the International Atomic Energy Agency claimed in its quarterly report that Iran’s stocks of heavy water had slightly exceeded the 130-ton level set out in last year’s nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Iran and the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council – the United States, France, Britain, Russia and China – plus Germany signed the JCPOA in July 2015 and started implementing it in January 2016. Under the JCPOA, Iran undertook to put limitations on its nuclear program in exchange for the removal of nuclear-related sanctions imposed against Tehran.

On Friday, Kamalvandi stressed that Iran has remained committed to its JCPOA obligations, including those concerning its heavy water stockpiles.

Oman and Iran share close diplomatic, economic, and military ties.

Iranian Justice Minister Calls for Revision of efficiency of Death Penalty.

Iranian Justice Minister Calls for Revision of efficiency of Death Penalty. (IFPnews).

According to a report by ICANA, as translated by IFP, Iranian Justice Minister Mostafa Pour-Mohammadi said that death penalty can’t be removed, because there are corrupt people inside the country who can’t be corrected with any other type of punishment.

Therefore, he added, capital punishment should not be rejected given the Islamic law and numerous experiences of other countries.

However, Pour-Mohammadi noted, this type of punishment has not been effective in recent years, and should be revised.

The view is also accepted by the Iranian Judiciary, he said, adding that Judiciary officials are now looking for ways to punish criminals in the best and most effective way possible.

Capital punishment will remain on the Iranian Judiciary’s agenda, but it won’t be implemented as much as it is now.

The Justice Minister’s remarks came one month after 150 lawmakers signed a motion to stop execution of minor drug traffickers.

Iran’s Air Defense Forces Equipped with S-300 System: Iran's Def Min. (IranFrontPage).

The Iranian Defence Minister announced on Tuesday that the country’s Khatam al-Anbia Air Defence Base has been equipped with the S-300 missile system, but at the same time added that the Islamic Republic’s indigenously designed air defence system will be mass-produced later this year.

Khatam al-Anbia Air Defence Base has received the strategic S-300 air defence missile system, Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan said on the sidelines of a visit to an exhibition of the achievements of the Iranian Army’s air defence base.

Highlighting the country’s major strides toward self-sufficiency in the area of aerial defence, he added that Iran has also developed its domestically-built Bavar-373 air defence system, and will launch its mass production this year.

He said the Iranian system enjoys specifications and functions similar to those of S-300, and that it can simultaneously engage multiple aircraft, ballistic missiles, and drones.

Back in April, Iran displayed part of the Russian-made S-300 air defence missile system in a military parade in Tehran, held to mark the National Army Day.

The gear unveiled in the ceremony included 2 radar systems of S-300, its carrier and command vehicles as well as the crane for lifting its missiles.

Iran has already made it clear that its military might poses no threat to regional countries, saying that the Islamic Republic’s defence doctrine is entirely based on deterrence.

US returned 73 Persian artifacts to Iran after years of follow-ups by Iran's cultural heritage officials.

US returned 73 Persian artifacts to Iran after years of follow-ups by Iran's cultural heritage officials. (AA).

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hossein Jaberi Ansari said on Sunday that 73 ancient artifacts belonged to Iran have been safely returened from the United States to their homeland.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hossein Jaberi Ansari made the announcement on Sunday.

"After consultations, 73 valuable ancient artifacts belonging to the Sassanid period were returned to the Islamic Republic of Iran by the US government," he said.

"The valuable ancient cargo was delivered to the National Museum of Iran on Sunday afternoon in a ceremony attended by the foreign ministry representative," Jaberi Ansari added.

In recent years, Iran has been successful in returning home its stolen belongings, including artifacts and ancient objects.

Back in April 2015, Iran received 108 ancient artifacts known as the Chogha Mish Collections from the US University of Chicago, marking the second successful return of Iranian artifacts in less than a year.

Also in 2013, Washington returned a Persian artifact to Iran after 10 years of consultations.

The 2,700-year-old Persian silver drinking cup cast in the form of a griffin was returned to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani as a token of good will while he visited the US to participate in the 68th Annual Session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

The ancient griffin had been in the US since 2003 when an art dealer smuggled it into the US.
Najafi, who is also the head of the cultural heritage and tourism organization, said the US State Department returned the artifact as a sign of good faith in a bid to improve cultural relations between Tehran and Washington.
Najafi said American authorities told him the ancient artifact was seized at a US airport from an Arab antique dealer in 2003.

The US officials believe the relic dates back to 700 years before Christ when the Achaemenid Empire ruled Persia.Hmmm......Don't tell me they decided this as well on the way to the airport?
This was decided even before Rouhani spoke at the UN !!!

Head of Iran’s Human Rights Council Responds to Mogherini: 'EU had NO HR problem expanding Business'

Head of Iran’s Human Rights Council Responds to Mogherini’s Statements: "EU members had no problem with HR to expand expanded economic and military relations with Iran" (Iranfrontpage).

Mizan News – The Head of Iran’s Human Rights Council reacted to Mogherini’s statements on the continuation of human rights sanctions in Isamic Republic of Iran.

As reported by Mizan News, and quoted by the Human Rights Council Information Centre, Dr. Mohammad Javad Larijani emphasized that the Human Rights Council supports Iran’s Foreign Minister regarding Iran’s readiness for human rights negotiations with the European Union.

He said, “We support our Foreign Minister, but planning and enforcing sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran’s individuals and organizations under the excuse of human rights contraventions is a shameful and unjustifiable action.”

He said that Islamic Republic of Iran will consider such actions as political enmity, “The majority of EU members have expanded economic and military relations in our region without the least consideration of the norms of human rights.
Even worse is that these countries spend millions of dollars equipping or creating dangerous terrorist groups such as Al-Qaeda, ISIS, Al-Nusra and Ahrar al-sham, all met with absolute silence from the EU. They are the main reasons behind tragedies in Syria, Iraq, Yemen and Africa – they should be ashamed to think of them.”
He then posed this question: “Doesn’t the EU count these [tragedies] as contraventions of human rights? Don’t they find it necessary to take action in this regard? Unfortunately, applying double standards – along with obvious human rights infractions in the West including racism, Islamophobia, and xenophobia – all of this depletes the value of Western human rights claims.”

Concluding his remarks, Larijani said, “Iran and Europe’s human rights negotiations should work to expose these double standards, and to show that the Islamic Republic of Iran is the greatest democracy of the region.”

New Banking channels will allow Iran to access $6bn of India’s oil debts to Iran. (Iranfrontpagenews).

Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh said Iran and India are discussing setting up banking channels which will allow the Central Bank of Iran to access $6bn of India’s oil debts to Iran.

Speaking on the sidelines of the Iran-India business conference at Tehran Chamber of Commerce on Saturday evening, Zangeneh told reporters that Tehran and New Delhi are in talks to add two more banking channels to the current one so that access can be granted to $6bn of Iran’s oil money in Indian banks.

“The Indian side has announced it would immediately repay its debts to Iran once the channel is open,” the official said.

He also said that India has stopped repaying its oil debts to Iran in goods supply.

Asked how the debts will be paid to the CBI, he said they will be paid in euros, not in goods.

Regarding the construction of a gas pipeline from Iran to India, Zangeneh said no understanding has been made in this regard between the two Asian countries, and the Indian side must study the case and present its assessments to Iran.

Iran can export oil to India whether through pipelines or in the form of liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargos.

Petrochemical Sector

He said Indian developers have indicated their keenness to finance petrochemical projects in Iran, and that the latter has agreed to supply their plants with petrochemical feedstock in return.

Iran to Unveil New Military Achievements Wednesday, new 'Karrar' tank to be unveiled in coming months. (Fars).

Iran's Ground Force Commander Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan announced that the country will unveil new home-made state-of-the-art military products on the occasion of the Army Day (April 17) on Wednesday.

"The Ground Force's new achievements will be unveiled on April 13," Pourdastan told reporters in Tehran on Monday.

He said that the country's experts have built new military equipment, including the 57-mm self-propelled wheeled air defense system 'Bahman' which can be used in proxy wars, 5-ton 'Kian' military vehicle, 'Shahram' mobile nuclear detection lab, adding that "all these achievements will be unveiled on April 13".

Pourdastan also stated that a large number of optimized Chieftain tanks, sniper guns and different light and heavy vehicles are due to be delivered to the Army units.

Asked about the time for unveiling the new Iranian battle tank, 'Karrar', he said, "The tank will be unveiled this or next month and will be used by the Army and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Forces."

Lieutenant Commander of the Iranian Ground Force Brigadier General Kioumars Heidari announced earlier that his forces have been equipped with the home-made state-of-the-art tanks named 'Karrar' with features similar to the Russian T-90 tanks.

"Karrar tanks have been delivered to the combat units of the Ground Force," General Heidari told reporters in March.

He also underlined plans to mount new, advanced and state-of-the-art systems on Karrar and Zolfaqar tanks.

Asked about the Ground Force's achievements in building anti-armored systems, General Heidari said, "We have modern and state-of-the-art equipment which can be used in proxy wars."

"The defense industry designed and built the battle tank from scratch. If not better, it's still as deadly as the Russian T-90," Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan said in an interview with the state-run TV last month.

He said "Karrar" stands among the most modern battle tanks in the world.

Iraqi Shia cleric Muqtada al-Sadr turns up the heat on embattled Iraqi government.

Iraqi Shia cleric Muqtada al-Sadr turns up the heat on embattled Iraqi government. (AlAraby).

Iraqi Shia cleric Muqtada al-Sadr has given Prime Minister Haidar Abadi 24 hours to form a cabinet of technocrats meant to replace party-affiliated politicians accused of perpetuating a system based on nepotism and patronage.

Addressing his followers during Friday prayers outside the main gates of Baghdad's restricted Green Zone, Sadr vowed to support any "reasonable" reforms proposed by Abadi, threatening to launch protests against any MPs who do not vote in favour of the reforms.

Asaad al-Nasseri, the Friday prayer preacher, also threatened to escalate against the government if it fails to form a new cabinet by the end of Sadr's deadline, calling to hold corrupt officials accountable for what has become of Iraq today.

"Our enemy; the Islamic State, and corrupt politicians all aim to destroy and drain the Iraqi people," he said, describing the Green Zone as a "barren" area.

On Friday morning, Sadr's followers responded to his calls and set up a protest camp outside the Green Zone, which houses Abadi's office, parliament and foreign embassies, to pressure the government into a swift cabinet reshuffle.

The protest camps were not authorized but no incident has been reported so far and the demonstrators even bonded with the security forces.

But the mood could change when the deadline expires as Sadr has threatened that his supporters will storm the Green Zone if their demands are not met.

Iran - Interior Min to Announce Final Elections Results on Tuesday, partial results Saturday evening

Iran - Interior Min to Announce Final Elections Results on Tuesday, partial results Saturday evening.(Fars).

Iran's Interior Ministry said the final results of the Friday parliamentary and Assembly of Experts Elections will be declared on Tuesday, although results of final vote counts in smaller towns and cities will be declared on Saturday and Sunday.

Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli told a press conference in Tehran on Saturday that the results of 70% to 80% of polling stations will be announced by Saturday night.

"We will start announcing the (partial) results of the Tehran electorate tonight," he said, but stressed that nationwide vote counting and declaration of the final results will take place on Tuesday as final elections results in Tehran will not end any sooner than Monday.

Ramani Fazli noted that over 60% of all eligible voters took part in the elections, and over 53,000 polling stations were set up for some 54,915,024 eligible people to vote.

According to the interior ministry, a sum of 6,229 candidates were cleared to compete for the 290-seat legislature but 729 of them withdrew from candidacy. More than 5,500 carried out the final registration to run in the race. Candidates from all the three major camps, the Principlists, Moderates and Reformists were present in the race.

The winning candidates of the Assembly of Experts' next term, lasting until 2024, possibly might have to choose the next Supreme Leader of Iran, or at the very least plan for it

Iran Transfers Batch of Emad Missiles to New Underground Missile base.

Iran Transfers Batch of Emad Missiles to New Underground Missile base. (Fars).

Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani made a visit to the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC)'s new underground missile town today during which he vowed the legislature would allocate a much bigger budget to the country's missile program.

The Images and footages released after the visit indicated that the IRGC has transferred a large number of Emad missiles to the deep underground base.

It is the second underground missile town that Iran is displaying in the past few months.

Iran in October unveiled a deep underground tunnel facility packed with missiles and launcher units a few days after testing the long-range Emad missile.

After unveiling the underground depot for the first time, IRGC Lieutenant Commander Brigadier General Hossein Salami said, "That was one of our oldest stockpiles and we haven’t yet shown our modern missile depots, where missiles with big cross sections have been stockpiled."

Also in November, a senior advisor to the IRGC Quds Force commander announced that Iran is in possession of 14 missile depots in the depth of 30m to 500m under the ground in different parts of the country that are equipped with automatic launchers.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran has 14 underground depots in the depth of 30m to 500m," Brigadier-General Karimpour said.

He warned that any country that dares to attack Iran will be riddled with missiles fired from these depots in large numbers automatically.

Iran’s IRGC supplied with disputed Emad ballistic missile.

Iran’s IRGC supplied with disputed Emad ballistic missile. (Taz).

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) has received the new homemade ballistic missile, Emad, the deputy IRGC Commander, Brigadier General Hossein Salami said.

Without giving any details, Salami said that the Emad missile (updated version of the Qadr missile) may be used in the upcoming IRGC military drill, Fars news agency reported Dec. 28.

Last October Iran test fired Emad missile, capable of carrying a nuclear warhead, which raised disputes about possible violations of UN Security Council resolutions.

The missile meets the minimum requirements for delivering nuclear weapons (500 kilogram payload over 300 kilometers).

The Emad is the latest generation of Iran’s long-range ground-to-ground ballistic missiles, capable of guidance and control technologies to assure intended targets are struck, according to the Iranian officials.

The missile’s engine operates on liquid fuel and its range reaches 1700 kilometers, while the Islamic Republic insists on calling Emad a long-range missile.

Under international restrictions, Iran has turned to domestic talents to improve its military power, frequently unveiling new products.

As a result of the embargo, Iran’s military capability is drastically limited, compared to US and NATO forces.  Hmmm..........Test fired half October and already operational?

Related: Iran tests new precision-guided ballistic missile Emad would have a range of 1,700 km (1,060 miles).

Iran FM Zarif slams Jordan counterpart for putting IRGC on terror list. (IFP).

In a list tendered to the New York meeting on Syria, Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh put the name of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) on the list of terrorist groups, an action which drew strong reaction from Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.

According to diplomats, the Jordanian foreign minister, who added the name of IRGC to the list due to pressures exerted by some countries such as Saudi Arabia, showed passive reaction to the Iranian foreign minister’s protest.

"We have asked all parties involved in the Syrian issue to announce the names of the groups they believe are involved in terrorist measures in Syria, and the name of IRGC was presented not by Jordan but by another country."

Iranian Navy Submarines Equipped with Long-Range Qadir Cruise Missiles

Iranian Army's Naval Force has received homemade anti-ship cruise missile dubbed “Ghadir”. (Fars).

The missiles were handed over to the navy Nov. 29 during a ceremony attended by Iran’s Defense Minister Hossein Dehghan and Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari in Tehran, Iran's State IRINN TV reported.

Dehghan said that quick preparation and launch, flight in low altitude, high navigation accuracy, as well as high damage power and anti-electronic warfare system are among the capabilities of the long-range missile.

The Ghadir missile can precisely hit targets within the 300-kilometer range and is equipped with advanced radars.

It’s the latest version of Iran’s homemade cruise missiles which can be launched from ground, as well as helicopters and warships.

Iran launched production line for the anti-ship cruise missile last March.

The defense ministry has reportedly delivered large quantities of the missile to the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) navy during the inauguration ceremony of the production line.

Addressing the ceremony, Dehqan said Qadir missiles can be rapidly deployed to show reaction in a short time, while they enjoy other capabilities such as low flying altitude, high navigation precision, high targeting precision, high destruction power, highly advanced anti-electronic warfare and anti-jamming systems, advanced radar systems and the capability of being fired from different types of vessels and helicopters.

Stressing that the Iranian defense ministry stands atop the region in manufacturing different types of home-made missiles, he said, "The high precision, rapid reaction and high quality of these important products have incredibly increased the Armed Forces' combat power in the sky, sea and ground."

Dehqan appreciated the Iranian scientists and elites for designing, building and mass-producing Qadir missiles which can hit targets 300km in distance, and said, "God willing, the Defense Ministry's new missiles with much more advanced capabilities will be delivered to the Armed Forces next year."
