On Friday, 21 April 2017, the National Council of Resistance of Iran, U.S. Representative Office held a press conference at the Willard InterContinental Hotel in Washington, DC exposing yet another nuclear site of Iran. 

NCRI-US provided detailed information about the continuation of work by the organization responsible for nuclear weaponization, known as SPND, highlighting once again that Iran continues to adamantly pursue a nuclear weapon.

At the press conference, NCRIUS Deputy Director, Alireza Jafarzadeh, using a power point presentation, showed maps, graphs, and charts of the covert organization as well as names of individuals involved in the weaponization program.

At the new site, named “Research Academy,” the Iranian regime has used a military facility in Parchin to hide its activities and continue work on weaponization.

Soona Samsami, the U.S. Representative of the NCRI, called on the IAEA to immediately inspect the nuclear sites, and called on the international community to halt Iran’s enrichment program and called for dismantling all covert sites of Iran involved in nuclear weapons research and development.

National emergency officials of the GCC countries, UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar and Kuwait, met on Sunday in Saudi Arabia to discuss the risk of radiation spreading over the Persian Gulf if Iran’s Bushehr nuclear power plant is damaged by another earthquake. A 6.3-magnitude earthquake struck close to the nuclear plant last week, but caused no damages. Iranian officials have said that the plant could withstand quakes of up to 8.0 magnitude.

The plant built on earthquake-prone Iran's southern coast is a growing worry for its neighbors, because the prevailing winds of the Gulf mean that if radiation ever does escape it would probably be blown over Qatar and the UAE.

“The earthquake that the Iranian city of Bushehr was subject to has raised a great deal of concern among GCC countries and the international community of a possible damage to the Bushehr nuclear reactor that could causing a radioactive leak, God forbid,” said GCC Secretary-General Abdulatif al-Zayani. “The GCC countries have previously warned against the danger of the nuclear reactor of Bushehr and the possible nuclear leak and its harmful effect on the environment in the Gulf,” Zayani added.

Iran sits on major fault lines and has suffered several devastating earthquakes, including a 6.6-magnitude quake in 2003 which flattened the southeastern city of Bam and killed more than 25,000 people.Read the full story here.

Barak: Israel will decide its own fate over Iran.(JPost).Israel will decide its own fate with regards to Iran, Defense Minister Ehud Barak said Wednesday while meeting with German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle.
Israel views the Iranian issue in "a way unique to us, and we are attentive to all our friends, but in the end, the Israeli government will be the one who will have to take the decisions on Israel's security and future," Barak said.
The international community has been pursuing a diplomatic approach to the Iranian nuclear program. Sanctions, led by the US and EU, have considerably damaged the Iranian economy. Israeli officials, however, have maintained the right to act independently if it assesses that Iran poses an immediate existential threat.
During the meeting, Barak also said that there was a "growing recognition in the international community that the Iranian military nuclear program is consistently approaching the zone of immunity, and that sanctions need to be stiffened, while talks need to be speeded up."
Earlier in the day, Barak signed a contract for the purchase of a sixth submarine for Israel's navy on Wednesday in Berlin. Wolf Rudiger, state secretary of the ministry of defense, signed for Germany.

Iran to Install Domestic Fuel Rods in Nuclear Reactor Wednesday - Official.(RN).Iran will insert its first domestically-produced nuclear fuel rods into a research reactor in Tehran on Wednesday, a top Iranian official told RIA Novosti on Tuesday.“Because Western countries were unwilling to help us, we began enriching uranium to 20 percent to make nuclear fuel rods,” Ali Bagheri, deputy chief of Iran’s national security council, said in an interview here.“These nuclear rods, the first created by Iranian specialists, will be inserted tomorrow into the Tehran Research Reactor in the presence of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad,” Bagheri said.Insertion of the domestically-produced nuclear fuel rods would mark a significant step forward in Iran’s nuclear program, experts said.
Bagheri also confirmed that the Fordo nuclear facility in northern Iran was operational.“It is operating under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency,” Bagheri said in the interview in a meeting room in the national security council building.The IAEA itself confirmed last month that Iran had begun production of uranium enriched to 20 percent at the Fordo facility, which is underground and heavily guarded.Ahmadinejad announced last weekend that Iran would make an “important” announcement about its nuclear program this week. Media sources in Tehran told RIA Novosti that the Iranian president would announce new “nuclear achievements” on Wednesday.
