Yemen to deport two arrested Belgians, who were arrested on suspicion of involvement in terrorism.(YP).Yemen will deport two Belgians who have been held for a month after they were arrested in Sana'a International Airport on suspicion of involvement in terrorism, Yemeni official said on Sunday. The official told Reuters that the arrestees Ebraheem Bali and Ez-Adin Tuhairi were arrested on April 13 when they arrived in Sana'a. He explained that they were arrested as they were suspicious of planning to terrorist activities, pointing out that Yemen is negotiating with the Belgian Government to deport them within days. A spokesman of the Foreign Affairs Ministry affirmed that the two persons were arrested due to their involvement in terrorist acts, indicating that Brussels was seeking consular access to them. A Yemeni human rights group, Hood, stated on Saturday that Yemen's Political Security, the state intelligence agency, has seized the two Belgian nationals in Sana'a International Airport. Hood made it clear that the two prisoners were not referred to courts, pointing out that their seizure contradicts the Yemeni laws that provide the arrestees must be referred to prosecutions during 24 hours. Hood said that the two arrestees came to Yemen to learn Arabic, pointing out that it sent a letter to the Attorney-General in which it informed him that this seizure violates the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) and the article 48 of the Yemeni Constitution. It further demanded the Attorney General to swiftly order the prosecution to visit their prison, and release or refer them to specialized courts, asking to hold those persons responsible for this illegal seizure accountable. Hood revealed in March that hundreds of Yemenis are held in underground jails and demanded President Abdu Rabo Mansour Hadi to swiftly release them.Other Muslims were subjected to harassment by Yemen's intelligence agencies as they were suspicious of involvement in terror acts.Read the full story here.
