Ex-AK Party deputy attacked by party 'Advanced Democracy' supporters for anti-gov’t Tweets

Ex-AK Party deputy attacked by party 'Brownshirts'  'Advanced Democracy' supporters for anti-gov’t Tweets. (TZ).

A group of Justice and Development Party (AK Party) supporters punched and kicked former AK Party deputy Feyzi İşbaşaran while he was being brought to a courthouse by the police after the former deputy was detained on Monday for allegedly insulting President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Twitter.

In order to heckle the former deputy. Metin Külünk, an AK Party deputy, also joined the crowd and delivered a speech. Külünk said, "Nobody can utter profane words or threaten someone with death in the name of freedom. This nation backs the leader it has elected. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is a president chosen by this nation. We respect people's right to criticize, but threats, profanity or insults are not acceptable. We believe that justice will be served. But I ask you not to respond wrongly. You have expressed your reaction, now you can disperse."

Shortly after Külünk's speech, İşbaşaran was taken out of the police station and put into a vehicle to be driven to İstanbul's Çağlayan Courthouse. The group, carrying banners with slogans saying things like "All of us are Tayyip's soldiers," kicked and punched the police vehicle and threw eggs at it. Hmmm.....Islamist brownshirts defending dear leader. Read the full story here.
