'Islamist' Turkey appeals to US for extradition of Gulen. (Taz).

Turkey has officially appealed to the US for the extradition of Fethullah Gulen, an Islamic public figure currently residing in the US, Turkish Haber7 TV channel reported Dec.29.

Istanbul City Court demanded today that the US implement its decision on arresting Gulen.

Istanbul City Court issued a decision on Dec.19 to arrest Fethullah Gulen, who is accused of creating a terrorist group and espionage against Turkey.

Turkish police detained the editor-in-chief of Turkish ‘Zaman’ newspaper Ekrem Dumanli, and several employees of the newspaper and Samanyolu TV on suspicion of having ties with the Gulen movement. Read the full story here.
