Iran says only “managed access” to its nuclear sites will be permitted. (Taz).
Iran only will grant the International Atomic Energy Agency “managed access” to its nuclear sites, Asghar Zarean, deputy head of the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization (AEOI) said without explaining what managed access means precisely.
He also said that no inspection that might risk the Islamic Republic’s national security and the country’s sovereignty are allowed.
“All activities at nuclear sites will continue as they are, until the nuclear negotiations reach a conclusion and the two sides decide on their course of actions,” Zarean said.
He argued that the nuclear sanction against Iran has only lead to indigenization of various technologies and the utilization of domestic capacities, Mehr news agency reported June 3.
Iran and the P5+1 (the US, UK, France, Russia, China, and Germany) reached a mutual understanding on Tehran’s nuclear program in the Swiss city of Lausanne on April 2. The parties have agreed to finalize a comprehensive deal on the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program by the end of June.
A new round of meetings for drafting a nuclear deal will begin in Vienna on June 4.
