Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian warned Turkey that its violation of Iraq's soil is a wrong action and has security repercussions for the region.

We believe such measures, if adopted without coordination with the Iraqi government, are against the regional security,” Amir Abdollahian said in an interview with the state-run TV on Saturday night.

We believe that such behavior will not help the suppression of terrorism and rather will increase chaos and insecurity in the region,” he added.

Amir Abdollahian underlined that there is no doubt that coordinated fight against terrorism and regional security would benefit everyone.

Iranian Speaker: Turkish Incursion of Iraq Aimed at Justifying Terrorism in Mosul

Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani blasted Turkey for taking immature steps in the region, and said Ankara’s violation of Iraq’s territorial integrity is aimed at justifying the terrorists’ crimes in Mosul.

Turkey’s military intervention in Iraq, despite the Iraqi government’s opposition, under any justification is nothing but creating new problems and justifying the terrorists’ measures in Mosul and it seems that attempts are being made to give a new form to the ominous stream of terrorism in Mosul region,” Larijani said, addressing the Iranian legislators in an open session of the parliament on Sunday.

Noting that projecting the blame on others, specially after the recent immature steps in the region, would further increase the problems, he said, “The regional states should have a correct assessment of what has happened in the past few years and organize an atmosphere of cooperation by correcting their moves instead of creating new problems.”

The Islamic Republic of Iran wants welfare, tranquility and security of the region and invites the regional states to honest and sincere cooperation in campaign against terrorism,” Larijani added.

Spokesman of Iraq's Volunteer Forces (Hashd al-Shaabi) Karim al-Nouri blasted Ankara for dispatching troops to the Northern parts of Iraq, and warned the Turkish government to stop supporting the ISIL Takfiri terrorist group.

"The Turkish government’s dispatch of military forces to Nineveh province (in Northern Iraq) on the pretext of fighting the ISIL is provocative," Nouri told FNA on Sunday.

He called on the Turkish government to stop sending logistic and financial aids for the ISIL.

Nouri reiterated that Iraq does not need foreign troops to fight the Takfiri terrorists, and said, “We are ready to send troops to Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Egypt to fight the ISIL."

He pointed to the areas that the Iraqi forces have taken back from the ISIL Takfiri terrorists, and said, "We are tightly holding the key areas and the ISIL cannot take them back by any means."

On Saturday, the Iraqi volunteer forces warned that they will strike at Ankara's interests in retaliation for the Turkish army's illegal border crossing and deployment in Nineveh province.

The Hashd al-Shaabi's reaction came after Turkey dispatched a battalion comprising 130 soldiers to an area near the city of Mosul in Nineveh province on the pretext of providing military training to the Kurdish Peshmerga fighters. In reaction to Turkey's unsolicited dispatch of forces to Iraq, a battalion of Iraq's volunteer forces threatened that they will target the Turkish government's interests on Iraq's soil.
