U.S. supported Ukraine cancels social benefits for former NAZI concentration camps prisoners & Russian medal recipients.
U.S. supported Ukraine cancels social benefits for former concentration camps prisoners and Russian medal recipients. (Tass).
Ukraine has stopped paying out welfare payments for pensioners, World War Two veterans, people with disabilities, liquidators of the Chernobyl disaster beginning with Monday, since the law of December 28, 2014, on stabilizing the financial condition of the state has come into force.
It affects practically all social security beneficiaries, without defining the mechanisms for providing targeted assistance to low-income groups.
Kiev has eliminated transport, healthcare, utilities and financial benefits for former prisoners of Nazi concentration camps and recipients of some Soviet-era orders and titles.
Compensations to families with children living in the areas contaminated by radiation from the Chernobyl accident will be no longer paid either.
Ukraine’s parliamentary opposition believes that the Prosecutor General’s Office should launch an investigation against Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk who actively promoted the law on the abolition of privileges.

Obama 'admin' backed Ukraine to honor groups that killed Jews in World War II.
Obama 'admin' backed Ukraine to honor groups that killed Jews in World War II. (Haaretz).
New Ukrainian laws that came into effect over the past two months will outlaw the display of objects and names from the country's communist past, while honoring groups that collaborated with the Nazis in the extermination of Ukrainian Jewry, Bloomberg reports.
A law signed by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko last week bans all Soviet and Nazi symbols, including town and street names.
It is expected to lead to the renaming such regional centers as Dnipropetrovsk (named after Grigory Petrovsky, who ran Ukraine in the 1920s and 1930s) and Kirovograd (bearing the name of Sergei Kirov, a Bolshevik leader allegedly killed by Stalin,) as well as dozens of other towns and hundreds of streets.
Another bill, signed into law in April, prescribes that Ukrainians honor a number of World War II nationalist organizations, some of which – such as the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists and the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA) – fought alongside the Nazis.
The law was protested by 40 historians from major Western universities in an open letter to Poroshenko and Ukrainian legislators.
"Not only would it be a crime to question the legitimacy of an organization (UPA) that slaughtered tens of thousands of Poles in one of the most heinous acts of ethnic cleansing in the history of Ukraine," the historians wrote, " but also it would exempt from criticism the OUN, one of the most extreme political groups in Western Ukraine between the wars, and one which collaborated with Nazi Germany at the outset of the Soviet invasion in 1941.
"It also took part in anti-Jewish pogroms in Ukraine and, in the case of the Melnyk faction, remained allied with the occupation regime throughout the war."The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe also criticized the laws.
"As Ukraine advances on the difficult road to full democracy, we strongly urge the nation's government to refrain from any measure that preempts or censors discussion or politicizes the study of history," the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum said in a statement. Read the full story here.

Fascism 101 - Ten indicators.
Fascism 101 - Ten indicators.HT: Lewrockwell.
My fascistograph index would rank the following as the vital, core factors and roots of fascism in a society, from the most important powers at the top down.
1. A hardcore, totalitarian party masquerading as the people's party, but secretly working totally with the rich and powerful corporations, uniting them under the party. [Fascism, unlike communism and other forms of socialism and so on, is above all a corporatist form of totalitarianism.]
2. Stroking mass vanity with big lies – "Germany over all," "America is the greatest nation in the world." And mass greed and lust for power with utopian promises of free money and endless prosperity and great conquests over nature and nations
3. Infiltration secretly by the party of all major institutions at the top by secret take-overs, threats, bribes, co-optation, etc.
4. Secret media content control in many ways by the ruler[s]
5. Imperial powers, party powers, the ruler principle
6. Massive, powerful secret police under direct control of the ruler[s], spying, black ops,
7. Secretly taking over the traditional laws and institutions, hollowing them out and refilling the empty forms with fascist ideology
8. Filling the government secretly with party hacks and puppets from top to bottom
9. Politically correct education and mass-mind training from early age [pre-school onward]
10. Foreigners, racial or religious or party groups or others used as "evil and secret witches" to stoke terror and blood lust for wars, used as threats and as conquests to fuel vanity and hubris. [Germany and the US. Used the "communists" as witches to inspire terror and hate and blood lust in their early rise to power, then used religious-race groups, foreign enemies, drug fiends destroying the nation, etc.]
Fascist regimes follow this general index of core factors. But they differ widely in specific, public details. Germany was very different in public from Italy, Mexico, etc. But their core was roughly the same, though the rose to power in somewhat different ways, ranking the index factors somewhat differently.
MFS: Although i don't agree with the writer his post, these Ten points should make Americans think about the current administration their 'actions'.

Former Member of Russian Joint Chiefs of Staff Col.-Gen. Leonid Ivashov: Russia Is Ready to Use Military Power to Defend Iran and Syria; Attack on Syria or Iran Is Indirect Attack on Russia; US in Libya Like Hitler in Poland
Interviewer: Dr. Leonid, do you think that these preparations and very large maneuvers, which will soon be conducted by Russia, are meant as preparation for war, or rather, a military strike against Iran?
Leonid Ivashov: These maneuvers and training will demonstrate Russia's readiness to use military power to defend its national interests and to bolster its political position. The maneuvers will show that Russia does not want any military operations to be waged against Iran or Syria. I assume that the people in the West and in Israel who design the schemes for a large geopolitical operation in the greater Middle East region draw a direct connection between the situation in Syria and in Iran. Indeed, these two countries are allies, and both are considered guaranteed partners of Russia. The only question, therefore, is who they will try to destroy first as a stable country: Syria or Iran.
A strike against Syria or Iran is an indirect strike against Russia and its interests. Russia would lose important positions and allies in the Arab world. Therefore, by defending Syria, Russia is defending its own interests.
In addition, Russia is thus defending the entire world from Fascism. Everybody should acknowledge that Fascism is making strides on our planet. What they did in Libya is nearly identical to what Hitler and his armies did against Poland and then Russia. Today, therefore, Russia is defending the entire world from Fascism.Source Memri.
