Video - What Does the Koran Say About the Crucifixion of Jesus?
Regardless of theological background, New Testament scholars and Historical Jesus scholars agree that Jesus' death by crucifixion is an established fact of history. This means, of course, that the Qur'an contradicts an established historical fact. William Lane Craig addresses the absurdity of the Islamic position.

Israeli Archaeologists discover First century synagogue in city of Magdala, Jesus might have preached here. (Bild).[GoogleTranslate].
Magdala (Israel) - Sensational discovery at the Sea of Galilee! Archaeologists dig out of a synagogue from the 1st century. The researchers are not sure: Here Jesus might have prayed and taught.
Also, according to experts, it is very likely that Jesus could have preached in the synagogue uncovered. Because: If Jesus, as signified by the New Testament, taught and preached in the synagogues of Galilee region, he would not have left out Magdala.

MERRY CHRISTMAS !
A Merry Christmas to all my readers!
The word “Christmas” means “Mass of Christ,” later shortened to “Christ-Mass.” The even shorter form “Xmas” – first used in Europe in the 1500s – is derived from the Greek alphabet, in which X is the first letter of Christ’s name: Xristos, therefore “X-Mass.”

NSA spied on the future Pope Francis before and during Vatican conclave: report.
NSA spied on the future Pope Francis before and during Vatican conclave: report.(DM).
ROME — The National Security Agency spied on the future Pope Francis before and during the Vatican conclave at which he was chosen to succeed Benedict XVI, an Italian news magazine reported Wednesday. The U.S. spy agency monitored telephone calls made to and from the residence in Rome where the then-archbishop Jorge Mario Bergoglio stayed during the conclave, the secret election at which cardinals chose him as pontiff March 13.
The claims were made by Panorama, which said the NSA eavesdropped on the calls of many bishops and cardinals at the Vatican in the lead-up to the conclave, held amid tight security in the Sistine Chapel. The information gleaned was then reportedly divided into four categories — “leadership intentions,” “threats to financial system,” “foreign policy objectives” and “human rights.”Read the full story here.

Video - Obama: “The Second Coming”?
What does the scriptures tell us about 'the Second Coming' of Christ?
Hmmm.....And then shall that Wicked be revealed "the wicked one," referring to the "man of sin," and called "the wicked one" because of the eminent depravity of the system of which he was to be the head; see the notes on 2 Thessalonians 2:8.
Whom the Lord shall consume - The Lord Jesus; see the notes on Acts 1:24. The word "consume" here - ἀναλώσει analōsei - means "to destroy;" see Galatians 5:15; Luke 9:54. The word would be applicable to any kind of destruction. The methods by which this will be done are immediately specified - and it is of much importance to understand them, if this refers to the papacy. "With the spirit of his mouth." What goes out of his mouth, or what he speaks; that is, word, truth, command, or gospel - all of which he may be regarded as speaking. In Revelation 1:16; Revelation 19:15, Revelation 19:21, it is said of the Redeemer that "a sharp two-edged sword goeth out of his mouth;" that is, his word, doctrine, or command - what he speaks - is like a sharp sword. It will cut deep; will lay open the heart; will destroy his enemies.
Compare Isaiah 11:4, "With the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked." The reference in the passage before us is to one of the methods which would be employed to "destroy" the man of sin; and the sense is, that it would be by what is spoken by the Redeemer. This may refer either to what he will say at his coming, or to his truth - already spoken; to what has gone from his lips, by whomsoever uttered; and the meaning then is, that one of the grand agencies for destroying this anti-Christian power is the truth spoken or revealed by the Saviour - that is, his pure gospel.
If this latter is the true interpretation, it may mean that the process for his destruction may have commenced long anterior to the personal appearing of the Redeemer, but that the complete destruction of this power will be accomplished by the splendor of his second coming.
It cannot be denied, however, that the most obvious interpretation is that which refers both clauses in the sentence to the same period - that of his second coming. Still, it is not improper to suppose that it may be implied that his power will be weakened and diminished by the influence of the gospel, though it may not be wholly destroyed until the second coming of the Saviour.
And shall destroy - καταργήσει katargēsei. Shall bring to nothing; cause to cease; put an end to. This is, in some respects, a stronger word than that which in the former part of the verse is rendered "consume." It denotes a more entire destruction than that, though it does not refer so much to any positive agency by which it will be done. In the former word, the attention is directed more to the agency by which the destruction will be effected - to the exertion of some kind of power to do it; in this word the attention is directed rather to the entireness or totality of the destruction. The anti-Christian domination will wholly cease, or be entirely destroyed. The words would naturally harmonize with the idea that there would be a somewhat gradual process under the operation of truth toward the destruction of the man of sin, but that the complete annihilation of his power would be by some more manifest exhibition of the personal glory of the Saviour.
With the brightness of his coming - This is evidently a Hebraism, meaning his splendid or glorious appearing. The Greek word, however, rendered "brightness" (ἐπιφανεία epiphaneia - epiphany) - means merely "an appearing," or "appearance." So it is used in 1 Timothy 6:4; 2 Timothy 1:10; 2 Timothy 4:1, 2 Timothy 4:8; Titus 2:13, in all which places it is rendered appearing, and refers to the manifestation of the Saviour when he shall come to judge the world. It is used nowhere else in the New Testament. There is no necessary idea of splendor in the word, and the idea is not, as our translation would seem to convey, that there would be such a dazzling light, or such unsufferable brightness that all would be consumed before it, but that he would appear, and that this anti-Christian power would be destroyed by his appearing; that is, by himself when he would return. The agency in doing it would not be his brightness, but himself. It would seem to follow from this, that, however this enormous power of wickedness might be weakened by truth, the final triumph over it would be reserved for the Son of God himself on his second return to our world. Yet, if this be so, it need not lessen our zeal in endeavoring to diminish the power of these corruptions; to establish and spread the truth, or to convert the defenders of these errors to a better faith.Source.

'IXOYE' - Halifax woman denied religious vanity plate.
'IXOYE' - Halifax woman denied religious vanity plate.(Yahoo).
Rhonda Lynne Cormier-Clarke wanted to use the acronym 'IXOYE', which means, in Greek, Jesus Christ Son of God and Saviour. She was surprised by the reaction she received from a woman at the Service Nova Scotia counter. "She said 'oh you won't be able to have that, I can guarantee it's banned,'" said Cormier-Clarke.
"And she said, yes red flagged, anything that has a religious connotation is banned." Cormier-Clarke said her choice of plate wasn't meant to be disrespectful.
"I'm just sharing my heart, my beliefs. I actually thought, you know, IXOYE, it's quiet, but it's my truth. It's not putting it right out there."
The incident has left her questioning why the government would ban something that she says doesn't mean any harm.
"Is there religious freedom? That's the question," said Cormier-Clarke. "It's like they're putting their focus on the wrong area. It's a licence plate. I'm not saying anything mean."The Minister responsible for Service Nova Scotia – the department that issues licence plates – doesn't know what Ixoye means. "The personalized licence plates, I think to my knowledge, are anything except politics and religion," said John MacDonell. "A long time ago, people determined that church and state should be separated. I think this is kind of a further commitment to that. I'm not sure it's entirely appropriate at all for the government to be involved in the message."
He says plates with the words Amen, Allah or even OMG might offend people. IXOYE falls into the same category. "There's somebody out there who is going to recognize that and somebody else who might recognize it," said MacDonell. "Someone might think it's great and some will not. So for our citizenry who pay taxes, they may have a problem with that." MacDonell said he's not sure if a list of red flagged licence plates even exists. Cormier-Clarke said the government needs to be clear about the rules and post that information online. In the meantime, MacDonell offered a solution. He pointed out there's no rule that bans anyone from putting religious phrases on novelty plates on the front of their car.Read the full story here.
Olive trees of Jerusalem’s Gethsemane among oldest in world.
Olive trees of Jerusalem’s Gethsemane among oldest in world.(AA).Olive trees in the Jerusalem garden revered by Christians as the place where Jesus Christ prayed before he was crucified have been dated to at least 900 years old, a study released on Friday showed. The results of tests on trees in the Garden of Gethsemane have not settled the question of whether the gnarled trees are the very same which sheltered Jesus, where the Bible says he prayed and was later betrayed by Judas, because olive trees can grow back from roots after being cut down, researchers said. “We cannot rule out the possibility that there was an intervention to rejuvenate them when they stopped being productive or dried out,” Chief Researcher Professor Antonio Cimato said at a presentation of the results in Rome.
“But let me say: plants of greater age than our olives are not cited in the scientific literature. Our olives are among the oldest broad-leaved trees in the world,” Cimato said.
Carbon dating showed that samples taken from the oldest part of the trunks of three of the eight trees came from the years 1092, 1166 and 1198, according to the study by the National Research Council of Italy Trees and Timber Institute and academics from five Italian universities.
The other five trees at Gethsemane -- which means “oil press” in Aramaic, the language spoken by Jesus -- could not be tested as they are so gnarled that their trunks have become hollowed out, with only newer growth remaining.
Referred to several times in the New Testament, the grove is at the foot of the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem, an important site for the Christian, Jewish and Muslim faiths. Yet despite their great age, the study showed the trees were in excellent health and had not been affected by lead pollution in the area. Analysis of their DNA found they were planted from the same parent plant, possibly in an attempt to preserve a particular lineage, according to researchers. Pierbattista Pizzaballa, who is Custodian of the Holy Land at the Franciscan order that maintains the site, said this could show a deliberate attempt to pass on a precious heritage for future generations. “The question is not if these are the very trees, but if this is the place referred to in the gospels. And it is the place, of that there is no doubt,” said Pizzaballa.Read the full story here.
