Britain’s deputy foreign secretary:"Kadyrov wants the LGBT community eliminated by the start of Ramadan."
Britain’s deputy foreign secretary:"Kadyrov wants the LGBT community eliminated by the start of Ramadan."(Pinknews).
Britain’s deputy foreign secretary revealed the terrifying threat from the Chechen leader while taking an urgent question on the situation in parliament.
Gay men have spoken of horrific beatings and torture in ‘concentration camp’ style prisons.
Sir Alan Duncan, Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, told parliament: “Human rights groups report that these anti-gay campaigns and killings are orchestrated by the head of the Chechen republic, Ramzan Kadyrov.
“He has carried out other violent campaigns in the past, and this time he is directing his efforts at the LGBT community. “Sources have said that he wants the [LGBT] community eliminated by the start of Ramadan.”
The minister added: “Such comments, attitudes and actions are absolutely beyond contemptible.”
PinkNews has spoken to the Foreign Office, who verified that President Kadyrov had made the threat in local Russian language media, seen by the UK government.
Ramadan starts on May 26 this year, and is widely celebrated in Chechnya, which is a predominantly Muslim area.
These allegations have been supported by human rights groups, and led to the United Nations’ High Commissioner for Human Rights, UK and US governments to call for the Kremlin to investigate.
Foreign secretary Boris Johnson’s deputy, who is gay himself, labelled the reported abuses of gay men as “utterly barbaric” and “despicable” in a strongly worded statement to the Commons.
Mr Duncan revealed that he spoke directly to his counterpart, Russia’s deputy foreign secretary Vladimir Titov, to challenge the Russian Federation on human rights abuses against LGBT people.

The Kremlin is preparing a major announcement, journalists are asked not to depart for the weekend.
According to a source in the press service of the President of Russia in the near future is preparing a major announcement, and for this reason, heads of relevant media asked to be ready in the next few days for a possible press conference.
This is indirectly confirmed by the CEO of the Center for Political Information polit-info Alexei Mukhin.
Mukhin also not denied reports that President Putin is currently incapacitated. "Guys, you now need the president, gather .." - he wrote in his Twitter. The question - whether he confirms rumors about Putin, Mukhin said "no comment." He also asked the staff at the weekend are in place, "will be something important," he added. Hmmm.....So far everything is 'rumours' but something big seems up in the coming hours if you look at the tweets below.

Why The West's Financial Warfare Against Russia May Lead To The Real Thing.A mix of military reluctance and willingness to use financial weapons was evident before the First World War, as it is now in Ukraine. Countries' efforts to protect their financial systems often centred on increased banking supervision and, in many cases, enlarging the central bank's authority to include the provision of emergency liquidity to domestic institutions. But this belief fuelled excessive confidence among those responsible for the reforms, preventing them from anticipating that military measures would soon be needed to protect the economy. Instead of being an alternative to war, the financial arms race made war more likely – as it may well be doing with Russia today.

ANALYSIS: Putin Hints Dialogue Possible Between Moscow, Kiev.Putin said Thursday he is sure that Russia and Ukraine will be able to find an understanding in their mutual relations.
"We are all under the oppression of certain emotions, but if we love one another and respect each other, then we must find a way to understand each other. I think that within a family it’s easier to do than between governments, but even within government relations, I'm sure that we’ll find a mutual understanding with Ukraine and that we will never part," Putin said.
Nikolai Mironov, General Director of the Institute of Priority Regional Projects, expressed hope that Ukraine and the international community would heed Putin’s call. Yet the expert noted that a number of factors might prevent the West and Kiev from tuning in to what Moscow says.
“First of all, the Kiev authorities are extremely anti-Russian,” Mironov said. “And given their actions, it is highly unlikely that they are hearing Russia’s calls,” he said, adding that Western governments promote their national interests even while their populations feel differently.
Moreover, Moscow tries to differentiate between the notions of “Ukrainian authorities” and a “Ukrainian state,” Makarkin believes.
“The Russian President distinguishes between Ukraine as a country and Ukraine’s authorities,” Makarkin said. “On the one hand, Ukraine is a country with close historical ties with Russia and Putin says he has nothing against it and that Russia still respects Ukraine’s sovereignty and people,” he told RIA Novosti. “On the other hand, there is a strong negative attitude towards the current authorities,” Makarkin added.Hmmm.....Wishful thinking

On Monday, pro-Russia protesters stormed a police station in the eastern Ukrainian city of Horlivka. VICE News correspondent Simon Ostrovsky joined them as they seized the building. Inside, the demonstrators attacked a police officer accused of pushing someone off of a ledge while the person was trying to display a Russian flag. Later that day, a video emerged on the internet showing a man purporting to be a Russian army colonel giving orders to officers in eastern Ukraine. This is the first bit of evidence that there might already be Russian boots on the ground in the country.
