"CHANGE" - GM Launches Chevrolet Aveo Output at RUSSIAN GAZ Plant.

"CHANGE" - GM Launches Chevrolet Aveo Output at RUSSIAN GAZ Plant.(RN).NIZHNY NOVGOROD – Russian vehicle maker GAZ Group has launched assembly of Chevrolet Aveo sedans at its Nizhny Novgorod plant under an agreement with US car giant General Motors, GAZ said on Tuesday.
We are now producing 48 cars a day. By April, we should be already producing 150 cars a day,” GAZ CEO Bo Andersson said at the launch ceremony.
GAZ said it will also start assembling Chevrolet Aveo hatchbacks by late March, and hopes to produce about 30,000 Aveo cars annually for the Russian market.
Joint investment in that project will total $29 million, including $19 million from GM and $10 million from GAZ. The vehicles will be built from components made in South Korea, but GM intends to increase the share of locally-made content.
The GAZ facility is Europe’s sole production site for the Chevrolet Aveo.
Chevrolet is General Motors' largest global brand with annual sales of about 4 million vehicles in more than 130 countries. It is the fourth-biggest global car brand in terms of sales and also one of the fastest growing brands in the world, according to GM’s website.
Chevrolet car sales in Russia rose 18 percent in 2012 to 205,000 vehicles, making Russia GM's fourth largest market by sales.Hmmmm.....Obama: "All the Choices We've Made Have Been the Right Ones"Read the full story here.

FCC eyes tax on Internet service........helping to pay for obama's "Free Phones"?

FCC eyes tax on Internet service........helping to pay for obama's "Free Phones"?(TheHill).By Brendan Sasso. The Federal Communications Commission is eyeing a proposal to tax broadband Internet service.
The move would funnel money to the Connect America Fund, a subsidy the agency created last year to expand Internet access.
The FCC issued a request for comments on the proposal in April. Dozens of companies and trade associations have weighed in, but the issue has largely flown under the public's radar.
"If members of Congress understood that the FCC is contemplating a broadband tax, they'd sit up and take notice," said Derek Turner, research director for Free Press, a consumer advocacy group that opposes the tax.

Numerous companies, including ATandT, Sprint and even Google have expressed support for the idea.
Consumers already pay a fee on their landline and cellular phone bills to support the FCC's Universal Service Fund. The fund was created to ensure that everyone in the country has access to telephone service, even if they live in remote areas.
Last year, the FCC overhauled a $4.5 billion portion of the Universal Service Fund and converted it into a broadband Internet subsidy, called the Connect America Fund.
The Connect America Fund, a Obama administration-supported plan for universal broadband, is part of a larger $4.5 billion mission to connect 19 million homes to bit-torrent streaming speeds by 2020.
The new fund aims to subsidize the construction of high-speed Internet networks to the estimated 19 million Americans who currently lack access. Julius Genachowski, the FCC's chairman, has made expanding broadband access his top priority. He argues that a high-speed Internet connection is critical for succeeding in the 21st century economy and that expanding Internet access is the country's next great infrastructure challenge.
But the money for the new Internet subsidy is still coming from the fees on phone bills.
And in recent years, with more people sending emails instead of making long-distance phone calls, the money flowing into the program has begun to dry up. The Universal Service fee has had to grow to a larger and larger portion of phone bills to compensate.
The FCC floated a number of ideas for reforming the fund's contribution system. In addition to the broadband fee, the commission also sought comments on taxing text messages, as well as levying a flat fee on each phone line, instead of the current system, which is based on a portion of the revenue from interstate phone calls.
The commission only sought input on the ideas and did not indicate whether it planned to move ahead with any of them, including the broadband fee.Hmmmm......Buying votes with taxpayer funded free phones.Does it come with free text messages from Barack Hussein Obama?Read the full story here.

Flashback: MFS - The Other News - Obama Phone: Gov to Spend $2,4 Billion taxpayer money On Millions of Free Phones In 2012.

What We're Up Against: The Obama Phone.(RushLimbaugh).Here are the details of this. There's a website, ObamaPhone.net. I'm going to read to you: "The Obama Phone Program. What exactly is the free Obama phone? The free Obama phone is a program that is meant to help the financially unstable who cannot afford access to a cell phone. Communication should not be limited to people in relation to what they are able to afford." They actually call it the Obama phone.
And here are some frequently asked questions from the Obama phone website: "How do I Get an Obama Phone?
"What is the Obama Phone?
"Who Qualifies for an Obama Phone?
"Who Pays for the Obama Phone?
"Is the Obama Phone Real?"
Now, in the "who pays for the Obama phone," in the Obama phone questions: "Lifeline is a government sponsored program, but who is paying for it. Some people claim that the government is using taxpayer's money to run this program, however, the claim is false.
Universal Service Fund (USF) which is administered by Federal Communication Commission along the Universal Service Administration Company (USAC), pays for the Lifeline phone assistance program."
So you and I are paying for Obama phones via the charges that are tacked on to our phone bill for the Universal Service Fund. The Al Gore tax, do you remember that tax? It's still on your phone bill. To wire farms for land line phones. We are still paying that tax. And then there's Internet taxes, Internet access for the poor and number of other things. The outfit that administers that is the Universal Service Fund.
If you can decipher your phone bill you pay every month a tax that goes into the Universal Service Fund and that's what's buying Obama phones and providing service for the people who use them. And, of course, it's known who has them. It's known what their numbers are. And they can be mass texted, individually, I would assume. But, look, before you panic, folks, this is not new. This has been out there for years, and Obama is in dire straits. When you hear about this, and you think, "How do we fight this? Oh my gosh."

Obama Phone: Gov to Spend $2,4 Billion taxpayer money On Millions of Free Phones In 2012.

FlashBack - March 2012 -Obama Phone: Gov to Spend $2,4 Billion taxpayer money On Millions of Free Phones In 2012.(SHTP).By Mac Salvo. One of the complaints about the U.S. Constitution recently, being as outdated as it is, is that it fails to guarantee certain unalienable rights such as free medical care, housing , food, and of course, the right to bear cell phones.
And, although the founders failed to specifically cite social programs as a necessary element for promoting the general welfare, the living nature of our founding document has been interpreted by political and legal scholars alike to allow for the seizure of assets by force from one group of people in order to redistribute those assets in a fair and responsible manner to those less fortunate.
As such, if you’re one of the 100 million Americans living below or at the edge of the poverty line, you’ll be happy to know that you more than likely qualify for a free cellular phone, also known as the Obama Phone, from the US government:

The Lifeline and Link Up programs are available to qualifying consumers in every state, territory, commonwealth, and on Tribal lands. Eligibility criteria vary by state. For states that rely solely on the federal Lifeline and Link Up program eligibility criteria, subscribers must either have an income that is at or below 135% of the federal Poverty Guidelines or participate in one of the following assistance programs:
•Medicaid,
•Food Stamps,
•Supplemental Security Income (SSI),
•Federal Public Housing Assistance (Section 8),
•Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP),
•Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), or
•The National School Lunch Program’s Free Lunch Program.

The qualification requirements apply to roughly half of all American households, because according to recent statistics some 48.5% of Americans receive benefits from the government programs above.
According to a recent ruling by the FCC, the Lifeline and Link Up programs will now be expanded to provide wireless (and wireline broadband) coverage to more Americans than ever before:
The Lifeline-eligible population has increased significantly over the past decade. Since 1999, real median household income in the U.S. has declined by 7.1 percent, while households at the bottom of the income scale have seen their income decline by 12.1 percent.
In 2010, 46.2 million Americans were living in poverty, defined as living at or below the benchmark established in the FPG, compared to 31.6 million in 2000.
As household income has declined and more carriers have offered Lifeline-supported service, the program hasexperienced significant growth. In the absence of today’s Order, which manages the size of the Fund in part by establishing a savings target, the program would provide an estimated $2.4 billion in support in 2012; that compares to an inflation-adjusted $582 million it provided in 1998 when five million subscribers participated in the program.
Source: Federal Communication Commission [pdf]
Over $2.4 billion in freshly printed dollars will be directed towards the program, which aims to connect tens of millions of poverty stricken Americans to the digital grid.
While we realize that some of those individuals, like those who cannot work for medical reasons for example, need access to phones in the event of an emergency, we can’t help but wonder how many millions of people like Duane Brooks, Jr. will be able to make calls, send text messages, and update their Facebook profiles instantly at the expense of others.Hmmmm......Buying votes with taxpayer funded free phones.Does it come with free textmessages from Barack Hussein Obama?Read the full story here

Michelle Obama to Lead U.S. Delegation to London Olympics.

Michelle Obama to Lead U.S. Delegation to London Olympics.(WhitehouseDossier).By Keith koffler.Michelle Obama will lead the U.S. delegation to the London 2012 Summer Olympics, declaring that she will use the event to promote her “Let’s Move” kids fitness program.
From the White House:
“In the months ahead, I’ll be talking to Americans all across the country to encourage even more young people to tap into that Olympic spirit and turn their inspiration into action,” said Mrs. Obama. “As the Olympic creed states, ‘the most important thing … is not to win, but to take part.’ And that doesn’t just mean sitting and watching, it means getting up and getting active as well. I hope we use the upcoming games as motivation for all of us to get up and get moving.”
The White House was careful to note that Michelle, who has been criticized for her lavish vacations, will not be the only first lady to have led an Olympic delegation overseas.
Other First Ladies that have led a Presidential Delegation to the Olympic Games include First Lady Laura Bush to the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy and then-First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton to the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway. The London games will be held July 27 – August 12.Hmmmm......No word on how many hotels will be booked on taxpayer's their tab?Lets hope Brittain lives up to it's 'Summer weather' reputation.Read the full story here.

Justin Bieber's new birthday 'TOY' - A Fisker Karma Car Costs $112,000, but Costs Taxpayers $529,000,000.

Justin Bieber's new 'TOY' A Fisker Karma Car Costs $112,000, but Costs Taxpayers $529,000,000.(IH).(PJM).Pop singer Justin Bieber turns 18 today and to celebrate his birthday, he’ll be presented with the car of his dreams on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. So why are we so excited about this? Well because Bieber’s fantasy car isn’t a Ferrari or top of the line Mercedes-Benz – it’s the recently released Fisker Karma plug-in hybrid luxury sports sedan!
The car will be presented to Bieber by his manager, Scooter Braun who told him,”You work really really hard. I always yell at you, ‘Don’t get anything flashy!’ You know, we’re not about that. Be humble, be humble. And I kind of broke my own rule.”
Braun also stated, “We wanted to make sure, since you love cars, that when you’re on the road you are always environmentally friendly. And we decided to get you a car that would make you stand out.”
Somehow there are people who have a different view on how " Green Design Will Save the World".
(PJM).Recently, I attended an event where a new 2012 Fisker Karma sports car was on display. Up until this time I had never heard of a Fisker Karma and after looking at the price tag I know why. It was a shocking $112,000.
The Fisker Karma, manufactured by Fisker Automotive, looks like it should have a starring role in a Mission Impossible movie.
It is a sleek cutting edge masterpiece of Finnish manufacturing.Apparently sales have been brisk. Great news I say! After all, this is America where an awesome car made in Finland equals a new status toy for the one percent… or in this case more like the one half of one percent.
As I was ogling the car, my friend told me the Fisker company received a US government loan to help with the design of the car’s electric battery.
It turns out the Fisker Karma is a “green” electric car and part of Obama’s energy/manufacturing plan to lead our nation out of the “Great Recession.”
Fisker Automotive, a California based company with an Al Gore venture capital firm connection was given a $529 million loan from the Department of Energy to provide manufacturing jobs and produce these high-tech electric cars.
But there is only one problem — the cars are built in Finland.
Why Finland?
Here is the answer provided by Fisker Automotive company founder Henri Fisker. “There was no contract manufacturer in the U.S. that could actually produce our vehicle,” he told ABC News, “They don’t exist here.”
Given the dismal state of U.S. manufacturing, Fisker’s statement does not surprise me. But what does surprise and infuriate me is $529 million of our hard earned tax money went into building this lavish product that only one half of one percent of our population could ever dream of driving.
Tuesday night when President Obama gave his State of the Union message he conveniently forgot to include this tawdry tale of economic excellence in his “America is Back” themed speech.
Obama-nomics means the smallest fraction of the population — the same ones Obama says need to pay more taxes — now have the opportunity to pay $112,000 for sporty new set of electric wheels. Meanwhile, the rest of us already paid $529 million for a car we have never heard of, let alone can afford, while the Fins got the jobs.Hmmmm.......'Cheap' advertising ...."Leanardo Di Caprio and Justin Bieber".Read the full story here.
