International Relations Minister Steinitz: 'Tehran is using talks to pave way toward an atomic bomb.'(JPost).The Iranians are using talks with the world powers to “pave their way to a nuclear bomb,” International Relations Minister Yuval Steinitz said Saturday, at the conclusion of yet another unsuccessful round of talks between Iran and six world powers.

Steinitz, responsible inside the government for dealing with the international campaign against Iran, said the failure of the talks was “predictable.”

“Israel has already warned that the Iranians are exploiting the talks in order to play for time while making additional progress in enriching uranium for an atomic bomb,” he said. “Israel believes that without a significant and tangible threat, including a short timetable, it is clear that achieving the dismantling of the nuclear project will not be possible.”

Steinitz added that the time has come for the world to take a “more assertive stand and make it unequivocally clear to the Iranians that the negotiations games have run their course.”

His comments came as EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton said Iran and the P5+1 – the US, China, Russia, Britain, France and Germany – remained far apart after ending two days of intensive talks on Tehran’s nuclear program in Almaty.

Underlining the lack of substantial progress during the meeting in the Kazakh city, no new negotiations between the two sides appeared to have been scheduled.

“Over two days of talks, we had long and intensive discussions on the issues addressed in our confidencebuilding proposal,” Ashton said at a press conference. “It became clear that our positions remain far apart.”

Experts: "Iran could build nuclear bomb in 4-6 months."(TOI).ran has what it needs to to build a nuclear bomb in a matter of four to six months, Amos Yadlin, the head of the Institute for National Security Studies, said Monday.
“Iran has completed in the last two years two components that… give it all of the necessary means to manufacture a nuclear weapons as soon as it chooses to do so,” Yadlin, a former Israeli army intelligence chief, told journalists at a presentation of the INSS annual report on Israel’s strategic status.
Yadlin noted, however, that despite the narrow window of opportunity to thwart Iran before it breaks out toward a weaponized nuclear capability, there was still time for diplomatic and/or military action.
An Israeli attack on Tehran’s nuclear facilities, he assessed, would elicit an Iranian response, but not of a magnitude that would precipitate a regional war.
“It may be that they’ll decide to act in 2013, and then we’ll require Israeli and perhaps also American action,” he said. “If Iran is attacked, there’ll be a military conflagration in the Middle East. But our assessment is that the Middle East won’t be enveloped in all-out war and the Iranians will respond in a calculated, limited fashion.”
Turning to Syria, the former head of IDF intelligence said Israel’s strategic situation would improve after the fall of President Bashar Assad. “Removing Syria from the axis of radicalism, if Assad falls, will be an important strategic line for the State of Israel,” he said. A post-Assad Syria, “whatever form it takes,” will be preoccupied with rebuilding. “I don’t see Syria looking for war with Israel… The [Syrian] army will face inwards, not outwards.”

Iran loads the fourth batch of 20 percent refined nuclear fuel into Tehran reactor.(TI).The forth part of 20 percent-enriched uranium was loaded to 5 megawatt-thermal Tehran's Research Reactor (TRR), The head of the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization Fereydoun Abbasi Davani said. According to IRNA report, Abbasi added that Iran's 20 percent-refined uranium stockpile is a little more than what IAEA reported earlier. According to International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) latest report, Iran holds above 140 kg 20-percent enriched uranium. Abbasi said that Iran would continue to enrich more 20 percent-refined uranium under supervision of IAEA. Iran succeeded in loading the first batch of its home-made uranium rods into the Tehran research reactor in February 2012. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad unveiled that his country succeeded in producing domestically 20-percent enriched nuclear fuel for Tehran's research reactor.
