IRS Probe Expands To Groups Criticizing The Government, Teaching About Constitution.

IRS Probe Expands To Groups Criticizing The Government, Teaching About Constitution.(Wapo).
At various points over the past two years, Internal Revenue Service officials targeted nonprofit groups that criticized the government and sought to educate Americans about the U.S. Constitution, according to documents in an audit conducted by the agency’s inspector general.
The documents, obtained by The Washington Post from a congressional aide with knowledge of the findings, show that on June 29, 2011, IRS staffers held a briefing with senior agency official Lois G. Lerner in which they described giving special attention to instances where “statements in the case file criticize how the country is being run.” Lerner, who oversees tax-exempt groups for the agency, raised objections and the agency revised its criteria a week later.

But six months later, the IRS applied a new political test to groups that applied for tax-exempt status as “social welfare” groups, the document says. On Jan. 15, 2012 the agency decided to target “political action type organizations involved in limiting/expanding Government, educating on the Constitution and Bill of Rights, social economic reform movement.,” according to the appendix in the IG report, which was requested by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee and has yet to be released.

The new revelations are likely to intensify criticism of the IRS, which has been under fire since agency officials acknowledged they had deliberately targeted groups with “tea party” or “patriot” in their name for heightened scrutiny.Hmmmm....."Don't think we're not keeping score, brother." That's what President Barack Obama said to Rep. Peter DeFazio in a closed-door meeting of the House Democratic Caucus last week, according to the Associated Press. Read the full story here.

"Truth Squads or Attack Watch"? Obama Campaign Likely Censoring YouTube Comments

"Truth Squads or Attack Watch"? Obama Campaign Likely Censoring YouTube Comments.(WhitehouseDossier).By Keith Koffler.President Obama’s campaign appears to be censoring viewer comments on the YouTube presentation of “The Road We’ve Traveled,” the 17-minute campaign documentary about the Obama presidency, with positive comments outnumbering negative by more than five to one.
Obama has staked a claim to conducting an “openness” presidency, with the White House frequently touting measures it says increase transparency. But not on his campaign’s YouTube channel.
As of 9 am ET this morning, 84 of the last 100 comments could be construed as supportive, while 16 were negative.
Many of the negative comments are benign. More than a third didn’t even directly criticize the president, arguing instead that General Motors should not have been bailed out by the government.
The positive comments were sometimes ecstatic in their support for Obama and the largely hagiographic video, which went up on YouTube March 15. Among the tributes are “My President is an amazing human being,” “Truly one of the greatest President’s ever,” “So majestic,” and “Thank God we have presidents like this.”
That the comments are being edited is clear because as of 9 am, the last one had been posted 12 hours before. Apparently, whoever is selecting comments took some time off to sleep.
In addition, several White House Dossier readers have complained that attempts to place negative comments about the video have failed.
By contrast, a nearly four-minute mini-documentary put up on YouTube by the Romney campaign March 3 – “A Love Story,” in which Ann Romney lavishly praises her husband – actually has more negative comments than positive by a balance 56-44 for the last 100 comments.
Another of 28 comments posted along with the last 100 were removed, with many flagged as “spam,” suggesting the Romney campaign is doing some editing too. But it clearly is allowing many more negative comments than Obama’s campaign, and some of the anti-Romney posts are quite vitriolic.
An effort by me to place a neutral comment about the Romney video immediately appeared, while an attempt to place the same comment about the Obama video was not – greeted instead with a message that the comment would have to await moderation.Hmmmmm......“Withholding information is the essence of tyranny. The Truth Behind Obama’s Truth Team

The Truth Behind Obama’s Truth Team.(ConservativeDailyNews).By Katherine Revello. The political world is abuzz this week with the Obama administration’s unveiling of their ironically named “Truth Team”. In conjunction with BarackObama.com, the Truth Team consists of three websites- AttackWatch, KeepingHisWord and KeepingGOPHonest. The goal of the Truth Team is to dispel the myths of Republican smears and tell the public the truth about Obama’s record. The Truth Team plans to gather volunteers and focus on swing states in an attempt to gather votes for Obama in the 2012 election.Anyone familiar with the union thug tactics of SEIU and the oh-so-unbiased reporting of ‘news’ organizations like George Soros funded Media Matters employed in the 2008 election, is probably skeptical of the credibility of the Truth Teams. And rightly so. Example- the Truth Team’s “Debunking of the so-called “War on Religion”
AttackWatch primarily refutes Mitt Romney’s statement that Obamacare’s contraceptive mandate for religious organizations is forcing religions to violate their conscious. The Truth Team’s refutement of this rests on six points that Obama’s Deputy Campaign Manager Stephanie Cutter presents.
Her first point- contraception is important to women’s health. Her evidence? Scientists and medical experts agree with her! These scientists aren’t named in the Truth Teams explanation. But if you click on the text, you’re taken to the website of the Guttmacher Institute, whose website states that its goal is to advance reproductive health and rights. Their mission also states “The Institute’s overarching goal is to ensure the highest standard of sexual and reproductive health for all people worldwide.” Cutter states that “The fundamental belief behind this decision is that women should have access to this care, without having to worry about cost.”
Here, the Obama administration’s assumption is that this is a women’s rights issue, which is not true. Where in the Constitution is there a clause mandating the government provide low cost contraception to women? From the start, the Obama administration obscures the issue- the principle at stake is women’s rights not religious freedom. Just a thought- it’s a lot easier to make people sound evil if they’re arguing against women’s rights.Next, Cutter writes ......Continued.
Cutter’s sixth point and conclusion is- President Obama loves the religious community! Apparently, the health care mandate, which forces religious employers to violate their belief that abortion is wrong, is a shining example of his commitment to religious liberty. Which actually sums up the president’s views on religion pretty well- he thinks they’re wonderful as long as they do what he wants.
So there you have it, as AttackWatch says. Indeed- there you have it. Here you have a crystal clear example of Obama’s contempt for the Constitution, and his clear contempt for the thinking brains of the American people. His endorsement of such blatant lies shows his character clearly.
So please, as AttackWatch concludes- “Now we need your help to spread the word about the administration’s stance.” Stand for truth and religious freedom and spread the words about AttackWatch’s lies.Hmmmm.....he's such a nostalgic of the October Revolution, first the Czars now the Political Commissars .......soon the Gulags may appear.Read the full story here.

Is IRS Targeting Obama's Enemies?

Is IRS Targeting Obama's Enemies?(TNA).In 2010, American Thinker posted an interesting defense of a flat tax, noting that it would help preserve privacy and freedom of speech by eliminating the need for the federal government to know virtually every aspect of a taxpayer’s financial assets. Two years later, some people are seeing truth in the magazine's assessment that the administration may be using the Internal Revenue Service to silence its opposition.
Ohio Liberty Council, for instance, says they are being made to jump through hoops by the IRS, which has demanded certain documents in order for the group's process of acquiring non-profit status to move forward. OLC President Tom Zawistowski posted a letter on the organization's website detailing the difficulties.
The letter sent to the OLC also indicates that the IRS will make public and post on the Internet all information received from the OLC. The Blaze views this statement as a threat: “Anyone who is part of a non-profit or even has attended a gathering held by a non-profit will have their information posted on the internet by the government. It makes you wonder if the same information will be asked of other non-profits?”
Zawistowski notes that by the same logic, names of all buyers of Girl Scout cookies as well as all who attend church each week would have to be posted online.
According to The Blaze, the OLC's ordeal with the IRS is not an isolated incident: Tea Party groups across the country have written to us sharing similar information. One Texas group filed their application for non-profit status in late 2007, but only received the information demand letter last month. As stated above, the Ohio Liberty Council submitted paperwork over 18 months ago[;] their demand was received at the end of January. Florida groups (who we have spoken with, but have requested anonymity) report similar experiences. Many different groups applied for non-profit status at very different times — (over a three year period) and yet, they all seem to have gotten the IRS replies within the last month.
Meanwhile, the timing of the IRS's seemingly absurd requests for documentation coordinates with the announcement of the Obama campaign's plans to mobilize its “Truth Team” members across the country, who will also seek to silence opposing voices.
During Obama's 2008 presidential campaign, a similar group of his supporters in Missouri took their agenda too far, vowing to arrest anyone who told “lies” about Obama, and did what they could to intimidate anyone who criticized him or his policies.
Because of possible political retribution — by way of an IRS audit — by the administration against its foes, American Thinker believes the federal tax code should be abolished in favor of a simple flat tax: The fact that we have a tax system so vast and complex that it may be vindictively used as a political tool is unconscionable. Couple that with the fact that we have a president with a Chicago-brass-knuckles political background, and we have an environment chilling to free speech. How many of Obama's political "enemies" have been cowed into silence due to fear of retribution via an unfriendly IRS tax audit? How many signatures are missing from petitions against the administration out of fear of arbitrary retribution? The IRS can ruin a completely innocent person by forcing an expensive and time-consuming defense against a vindictive audit.Hmmm.....New campain slogan :"You're either with me or against me"?Read the full story here.
