White House denies Ankara’s claim of joint Obama-Erdoğan mosque opening in Maryland.

White House denies Ankara’s claim of joint Obama-Erdoğan mosque opening in Maryland. (Bugun).

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu’s claim that President Obama had accepted President Erdoğan’s offer to open a mosque in the state of Maryland was denied by the White House.

At a dinner with the representatives of the local Muslim community in Washington, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu claimed that US President Barack Obama had promised Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan that they would be opening a mosque, currently under construction in Maryland, together.

“During a telephone conversation President Erdoğan proposed to Obama that they open the center together,” said the foreign minister, “Obama accepted the proposal in principle.”

However in a statement to Turkish daily Cumhuriyet, the White House’s National Security Council spokesman Mark Stroh responded that President Obama had never said anything about attending such a ceremony. “President Obama has made no statement about such an engagement,” the statement read, with White House sources emphasizing that no such plan to attend such an event existed.

Çavuşoğlu has been in Washington for a four-day visit since April 18, where he has met with government officials, think tanks and civil organizations. Hmmm..........Who's lying?

High School 'CHANGE' - Islamic vocabulary lesson part of Common Core standards.

High School 'CHANGE' -  Islamic vocabulary lesson part of Common Core standards. HT: (Fox).

“It really caught me off guard,” a Farmville Central High School student who was in the class told me. “If we are not allowed to talk about any other religions in school – how is this appropriate?”

The Islamic vocabulary worksheet was assigned to seniors.

“I was reading it and it caught me off guard,” the student told me. “I just looked at it and knew something was not right – so I emailed the pages to my mom.”

I asked the school district to provide me with a copy of vocabulary worksheets that promoted the Jewish, Hindu and Christian faiths. The school district did not reply.

“In the following exercises, you will have the opportunity to expand your vocabulary by reading about Muhammad and the Islamic word,” the worksheet read.

The lesson used words like astute, conducive, erratic, mosque, pastoral, and zenith in sentences about the Islamic faith.

“The zenith of any Muslim’s life is a trip to Mecca,” one sentence read. For “erratic,” the lesson included this statement: “The responses to Muhammad’s teachings were at first erratic. Some people responded favorably, while other resisted his claim that ‘there is no God but Allah and Muhammad his Prophet.”

Another section required students to complete a sentence:

“There are such vast numbers of people who are anxious to spread the Muslim faith that it would be impossible to give a(n)___ amount.” I spoke to one parent who asked not to be identified. She was extremely troubled by what her child was exposed to in the classroom. “What if right after Pearl Harbor our educational system was talking about how great the Japanese emperor was?” the parent asked. “What if during the Cold War our educational system was telling students how wonderful Russia was?”

The parent said the material was classwork disguised as Islamic propaganda. Hmmmm............Is Hebrew among 'Common Core' standards?  Read the full story here.

Obama arming America’s enemies - With Obama in command, only Allah can save the West.

Obama arming America’s enemies - With Obama in command, only Allah can save the West. (TS). By Tarek Fatah.

If you are scratching your head and wondering why the U.S. is fighting al-Qaida affiliates around the world, yet going ahead and providing funding and possible future arms to al-Qaida-inspired terrorists in Syria, you have plenty of company.

President Barack Obama finding chemical weapons in Syria reminds me of former President George W. Bush finding WMDs in Iraq.

I suppose one disastrous war was not enough to quench the thirst for profits by America’s private sector arms manufacturers whose biggest customer is the Pentagon.

Arming Syria to empower the enemies of America is not the only example of the bankruptcy of U.S. Foreign Policy that may serve the armament industry, but certainly not its citizenry. The same suicidal policy is being implemented in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan—countries hostile to the US, but willing markets for America’s arms manufacturers.

Take Egypt as an example. On June 7, the Associated Press revealed the Obama administration had waived the conditions of human rights observance that it had attached to any future military sales to Egypt. Secretary John Kerry asked Congress to release $1.3 billion in U.S. military support for 2013.

This, despite evidence that Egypt was violating the human rights of its own citizens, particularly of its Christian population.

On New Year’s Day, I wrote in the Sun that I was hopeful Kerry would use the tools at his disposal and cut-off aid to Egypt if they failed to protect fundamental human rights of all citizens, regardless of faith.

Obviously I was naive and terribly wrong. The human rights of ordinary Egyptians dare not come in the way of an arms deal.

Secretary Kerry told Congress the military aid will help Egypt protect its borders, the Suez Canal shipping and Israeli security against extremists in Gaza and the Sinai Peninsula. This preposterous justification for arming the enemy matches Kerry’s predecessor Hillary Clinton arming the Pakistan Army while it supplied covert military aid to the Taliban fighting U.S. troops in Afghanistan.

Kerry’s letter was revealed just four days after an embarrassing June 3 live TV broadcast that caught Egyptian politicians chatting with President Mohamed Morsi, suggesting military action against Ethiopia to stop it from building a dam across the Blue Nile.

The politicians, both government and opposition did not know the meeting was being aired live by State TV, and so spoke their minds unreservedly. While one of them called for a “declaration of war” against Ethiopia, another suggested sending Special Forces to destroy the dam.

Younus Makhloun of the Al-Nour Party claimed the Ethiopian dam had the backing of Israel and the U.S. and suggested Cairo back armed rebel groups inside Ethiopia.

Was no one in the American Embassy in Cairo or the U.S. State Department listening to this public airing of Egypt’s military ambitions? Obviously they were, but why let the enemy’s sabre rattling get in the way of multi-billion dollar arms sales.

Today America stands firmly behind the very forces that seek the demise of western civilization. Look who Uncle Sam lists as its allies:

• Saudi Arabia, the motherlode of international jihadi teaching and financing;

• Qatar, a medieval monarchy that hides its hideous nature by wrapping itself behind English-accented Al-Jazeera TV hosts;

• Pakistan, the factory that keeps producing suicide bombers; and

• Turkey, where Islamofascism challenges secular liberals with pepper-spray poisoned water cannons.

And now we hear America is “open” to sitting down with the Taliban for peace talks in Qatar after dropping its demand that the terrorists who once hosted bin Laden, renounce all ties to al-Qaida. With Obama in command, only Allah can save the West.

Hmmmm......The 'people' Obama needs to arm better.

Iran will send 4,000 troops to aid Bashar al-Assad’s forces in Syria.

Iran will send 4,000 troops to aid Bashar al-Assad’s forces in Syria. HT: The Independent.

Washington’s decision to arm Syria’s Sunni Muslim rebels has plunged America into the great Sunni-Shia conflict of the Islamic Middle East, entering a struggle that now dwarfs the Arab revolutions which overthrew dictatorships across the region.

For the first time, all of America’s ‘friends’ in the region are Sunni Muslims and all of its enemies are Shiites. Breaking all President Barack Obama’s rules of disengagement, the US is now fully engaged on the side of armed groups which include the most extreme Sunni Islamist movements in the Middle East.

The Independent on Sunday has learned that a military decision has been taken in Iran – even before last week’s presidential election – to send a first contingent of 4,000 Iranian Revolutionary Guards to Syria to support President Bashar al-Assad’s forces against the largely Sunni rebellion that has cost almost 100,000 lives in just over two years.
Iran is now fully committed to preserving Assad’s regime, according to pro-Iranian sources which have been deeply involved in the Islamic Republic’s security, even to the extent of proposing to open up a new ‘Syrian’ front on the Golan Heights against Israel.
In years to come, historians will ask how America – after its defeat in Iraq and its humiliating withdrawal from Afghanistan scheduled for 2014 – could have so blithely aligned itself with one side in a titanic Islamic struggle stretching back to the seventh century death of the Prophet Mohamed.
The profound effects of this great schism, between Sunnis who believe that the father of Mohamed’s wife was the new caliph of the Muslim world and Shias who regard his son in law Ali as his rightful successor – a seventh century battle swamped in blood around the present-day Iraqi cities of Najaf and Kerbala – continue across the region to this day. A 17th century Archbishop of Canterbury, George Abbott, compared this Muslim conflict to that between “Papists and Protestants”.

America’s alliance now includes the wealthiest states of the Arab Gulf, the vast Sunni territories between Egypt and Morocco, as well as Turkey and the fragile British-created monarchy in Jordan. King Abdullah of Jordan – flooded, like so many neighbouring nations, by hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees – may also now find himself at the fulcrum of the Syrian battle. Up to 3,000 American ‘advisers’ are now believed to be in Jordan, and the creation of a southern Syria ‘no-fly zone’ – opposed by Syrian-controlled anti-aircraft batteries – will turn a crisis into a ‘hot’ war. So much for America’s ‘friends’.

Its enemies include the Lebanese Hizballah, the Alawite Shiite regime in Damascus and, of course, Iran. And Iraq, a largely Shiite nation which America ‘liberated’ from Saddam Hussein’s Sunni minority in the hope of balancing the Shiite power of Iran, has – against all US predictions – itself now largely fallen under Tehran’s influence and power. Iraqi Shiites as well as Hizballah members, have both fought alongside Assad’s forces.Hmmm......Obama: "All the Choices We've Made Have Been the Right Ones"Makes a nice motto for the Post United States of America, doesn’t it?Read the full story here.

"Time is on our side" - Iran’s New Initiative to Reach Out to Washington.

"Time is on our side" - Iran’s New Initiative to Reach Out to Washington.HT: UskowiOnIran.
Reuters reported today that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has approved a request by the country’s foreign minister to reach out to Washington and enter into “broad discussions with the United States.”
Ali Akbar Salehi, the foreign minister, reportedly made his request to start the dialogue with the U.S. in a three-page hand-written letter sent to Khamenei five months ago, two sources who have read the letter told Reuters. The supreme leader wrote back to Salehi that although he was not optimistic about the prospect, but would not oppose them if they pursued the initiative.

“Salehi endangered his career - and even his security,” said a source who knows Salehi and saw the letter. “But he said this letter will be registered in history.” (Reuters, 12 June)

Salehi’s bold move was opposed by President Ahmadinejad, the sources tell Reuters.

It is not clear if the initiative by Salehi has led to any serious negotiations with the U.S. Hmmmm......The road to Hell is paved with false promises.Read the full story here.

Video - Judge Jeanine Goes Nuclear On Obama: Why Do You Apologize To Muslims And Lie To Americans.

Al-Qaeda now self sufficiant - Al-Qaeda’s Syrian wing takes over the oilfields once belonging to Assad.

Al-Qaeda now self sufficiant - Al-Qaeda’s Syrian wing takes over the oilfields once belonging to Assad.(Telegraph).By Richard Spencer. Al-Qaeda’s Syrian wing is helping to finance its activities by selling the product of oilfields that once helped to prop up the regime of Bashar al-Assad.

Up to 380,000 barrels of crude oil were previously produced by wells around the city of Raqqa and in the desert region to its east that are now in rebel hands – in particular Jabhat al-Nusra, the al-Qaeda off-shoot which is the strongest faction in this part of the country.

Now the violently anti-Western jihadist group, which has been steadily extending its control in the region, is selling the crude oil to local entrepreneurs, who use home-made refineries to produce low-grade petrol and other fuels for Syrians facing acute shortages.

The ability of Jabhat al-Nusra to profit from the oil locally, despite international sanctions which have hindered its sale abroad, will be particularly worrying to the European Union, which has voted to ease the embargo but at the same time wants to marginalise the extremist group within the opposition.

General Selim Idriss, the head of the western-backed opposition Military Council, has appealed for Western help specifically to seize the fields from Jabhat, but the forces required - he put it at 30,000 men - make that a pipe dream. Even pro-Western rebel militias in the area admit that the level of support received from the council is at present minimal. Their battlefield supremacy has enabled them to seize the economic as well as the military high-ground.

In Raqqa, they also control flour production, earning money from selling to bakeries, some of which they own as well. "Jabhat now own everything here," one disillusioned secular activist said.

In other places they sell the flour at a loss, further endearing them to the local population. Until now it has been a virtuous circle. Well-funded anyway from foreign contributions, they are able to avoid levying the fees – some say bribes – to pay their men and for supplies that have made other brigades increasingly unpopular. That in turn has been a major boon to recruitment, with thousands defecting to them. Hmmmm......The Obama 'admin' BUILD THAT!Read the full story here.

IRS Punished Conservative Non-Profits, Perhaps Also Pro-Israel Groups.

IRS Punished Conservative Non-Profits, Perhaps Also Pro-Israel Groups.(TJP).By: Lori Lowenthal Marcus. For more than a year the U.S. Congress has been investigating whether the Internal Revenue Service was inappropriately treating conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status, or burdening such groups with requests and demands which are impermissible, as many had claimed. Friday, May 10, the IRS person in charge of the division dealing with non-profits, Lois Lerner, apologized for actions taken by the agency which were based on political affiliation.

“That was absolutely incorrect, it was insensitive and it was inappropriate. That’s not how we go about selecting cases for further review,” Lerner said at a conference sponsored by the American Bar Association.

“The IRS would like to apologize for that,” she added.

How did the IRS do this? By singling out dozens of organizations for additional reviews because they included the words “tea party” or “patriot” in their exemption applications, Lerner admitted.

The Ways and Means Committee has been seeking information on precisely this activity and “the IRS repeatedly denied they were targeting conservative grassroots organizations,” said committee chair Dave Camp (R-MI) in response to the revelation. He announced that the committee will soon hold hearings on this now-admitted practice by the IRS.

Camp stated in a press release issued just after the admission of wrongdoing by the IRS, “The IRS absolutely must be non-partisan in its enforcement of our tax laws. The admission by the agency that it targeted American taxpayers based on politics is both shocking and disappointing. The Committee on Ways and Means will thoroughly investigate this matter and will soon hold a hearing to get to the bottom of this situation. We will hold the IRS accountable for its actions.”

PRO-ISRAEL GROUP SUED IRS CLAIMING TARGETING PRACTICE

While they are at it, the committee might want to ask the IRS whether their list of targets extended beyond political party discrimination. There is evidence the IRS also targeted pro-Israel groups whose positions were potentially inconsistent with the administration’s.

For example, in 2010, the passionately pro-Israel organization Z STREET filed a lawsuit against the IRS, claiming it had been told by an IRS agent that because the organization was “connected to Israel,” its application for tax-exempt status would receive additional scrutiny. This admission was made in response to a query about the lengthy reveiw of Z STREET’s tax exempt status application.

In addition, the IRS agent told a Z STREET representative that the applications of some of those Israel-related organizations have been assigned to “a special unit in the D.C. office to determine whether the organization’s activities contradict the Administration’s public policies.”

Z STREET’s lawsuit claims the IRS activity constitutes viewpoint discrimination and a violation of its constitutionally protected right of free speech. The organization is seeking, among other things, complete disclosure to the public regarding the origin, development, approval, substance and application of the IRS policy to treat pro-Israel organizations differently than it does other organizations.

And at least one purely religious Jewish organization, one not focused on Israel, was the recipient of bizarre and highly inappropriate questions about Israel. Those questions also came from the same non-profit division of the IRS at issue for inappropriately targeting politically conservative groups. The IRS required that Jewish organization to state “whether [it] supports the existence of the land of Israel,” and also demanded the organization “[d]escribe [its] religious belief system toward the land of Israel.”

For years the IRS has denied it took any such inappropriate actions and has done its best to prevent Z STREET from pursuing its claim of viewpoint discrimination. The IRS even took the position that because Israel is a country “where terrorism happens,” the service was justified in taking additional time to determine whether Z STREET was involved with funding terrorism. Z STREET is a purely educational organization that has never funded anything, either in Israel or anywhere else.

Coincidentally, after two and a half years of non-movement, the very first hearing in Z STREET v IRS was recently scheduled for the afternoon of Tuesday, July 2, in the Federal District Court of the District of Columbia.Read the full story here.

Video - Georgetown University Law Professor Daoud Kheirallah: Nomination of Chuck Hagel as U.S. Defense Secretary a "Slap in the Face" to Israel’s Supporters.

Georgetown University Law Professor Daoud Kheirallah: Nomination of Chuck Hagel as U.S. Defense Secretary a "Slap in the Face" to Israel’s Supporters. Following are excerpts from an interview with Daoud Kheirallah, a law professor from Georgetown University, which aired on Russia Today TV on January 8, 2013.

Daoud Kheirallah: I think that Hagel is one of very few people who have demonstrated their independent decision-making in defending U.S. interests in the face of other parties, and especially the Israelis. He was able to say: “I am a senator who was elected to serve the U.S. before any other country. I am not against Israel, but...”

The position has brought on Hagel the hostility of some Republicans, who are committed to the Israeli cause. One senator said: “This is an insult to those of us who support Israel in the Senate.” Obama’s nomination of Hagel was considered a slap in the face to Israel’s supporters.

[...] Interviewer: Will the new American government, with Brennan, Hagel, and John Kerry, depart from the previous U.S. policies?

Daoud Kheirallah: To a large degree, yes. I think that in particular, Kerry and Hagel, who were senators – one is a Democrat and the other a Republican – have their own views on the Middle East – on Syria, on Israel, and on Iran. Their way of dealing with the Middle East in general, with the Arab and Islamic world, differs from that of their predecessors.
To some extent, they depart from the general line of blind commitment to the Zionist cause. Source: Memri.
