German MP returning from an investigation of Syria and Iraq: "Turkish Stamps on Al-Nusra Terrorists Passports"

German MP returning from an investigation of Syria and Iraq: "Turkish Stamps on Al-Nusra Terrorists Passports".(aydinlikdaily).

Jan van Aken, a Federal MP of the German Left Party and the Spokesman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, has made a statement revealing that the passports of al-Nusra terrorists captured in Syria bore entry and exit stamps from Turkey.

Van Aken made a presentation in Hamburg, Germany, during which he explained the findings of an investigation he had conducted in collaboration with the Berliner Zeitung and NDR newspapers. The investigation had particularly focussed on the Qamishli region of Syria and Mosul of Iraq.
According to van Aken, there was a conspicuous trend among the foreign terrorists captured in these areas to have the Turkish stamps in their passports.
This trend would suggest that Turkey is being used as a hub by foreign jihadists and a last port of call before joining the region’s conflicts.

This will come as no surprise to observers of Turkey and the Middle East, being the latest in a growing list of evidence linking Turkey to terrorism.

Most recently, trucks have been stopped in the southeastern part of Turkey after tip offs were sent to the authorities claiming that they were transporting weapons. In one such incident, which occurred at the beginning of January, the trucks’ drivers turned out to be Turkish intelligence agents, who prevented the search of the trucks until the governor of Hatay personally intervened to force the prosecutor to stand down and let the vehicles pass. Then, on 19 January, seven trucks were stopped near Adana, and discovered to contain heavy weaponry.

The extent of the Turkish government’s support for terrorist elements in Syria has led to the Syrian government issuing a criminal complaint against them to the UN.
